Melanie was more than just talented. She was beautiful inside and out. Her authenticity shone through in every video. I pray for her husband and children. This has to be a most difficult time. Her husbands documentary was incredible.
I saw the documentary. I cried. It was done very well and the perspective was incredibly touching. I agree with you that Melanie was incredibly authentic and I loved her personality. You could tell she was an awesome person.

Melanie was the kind of person that this world needs to know, especially now. She lived with the same nurturing relatable attitude that she portrays in her videos. She was a shield and a guardian to her younger brother and to her children. She was a comforting friend and teacher to her fans and followers. She will be missed.

Yes i was hoping for a better outcome with her health problem. Yes she makes it look soooo easy. I made my first baby blanket from her tutorial was not perfect but sent it to my sons wife for her new grandbaby. They loved it! I followed her health the whole time! Was soooo worried about her! Will miss her beautiful smile and her oh so lots of energy she had! She was robbed of her youth! She had soooo much to live for! She was soooo talented and yes INSPIRING! She will definitely be missed by everyone! Pray her family will find peace!

It was Melanie's "slouchy beanie" that was my very first project. Such a wonderful teacher and beautiful woman. I will remember her with a smile and with tears and will be praying for her family.
Watching Melanie got me started to crochet. Her patients and detailed information on each stitch. I noticed her not putting out new videos. I was hoping things were okay with her. I’m sorry to hear this terrible news. She will be truly missed. I’m even more encouraged to improve and do my do diligence to keep going. That was so sweet of you to honor Melanie just now I absolutely loved her as she was the first girl I watched when I was trying to learn how to crochet and I learned so much from her and made alot of her hat and blanket patterns. I followed some of her journey when she was sick but was surprised when I saw she passed away and her husband is a amazing man and they were such a strong couple . She taught me so much. I have many, many of her videos saved when I need to come back to tutorials and methods of crochet, quilting, etc. She was such a bright light and a wonderful teacher. I hope she has peace now. She will be missed dearly.

I did not know her personally but it was easily apparent, even through her news letter/emails, what a genuinely kind and gentle soul she had. My heart breaks for you, her family and all who knew her. I pray God will ease your pain in the days ahead.
Last weekend I was trying to decide what my next project was going to be. I realized I was finally going to have the time to be able to make one of Melanie's blankets - the yarn had been waiting in the wings for over a year and I was so excited to start it. Then a few short days later, I read the devastating news of her passing. Her husband's words brought me to tears. Such a beautiful bright soul taken far too soon. To you, our teachers, through your videos you become our friends - you matter to us more than you may realize. My heart goes out to you and everyone whose life was touched by Melanie.
Yes I loved Melanie as well. I loved her tutorials and I read her health blog and really hoped for a better outcome..she passed on my birthday and now I can remember her on my birthday every year..prayers for strength for her husband, and 2 children during this difficult time..Thank you for being you..you will be missed Melanie

I am heartbroken. When I read about her passing, my heart sank and I felt sick to my stomach and my eyes filled with tears. It felt like I lost a close friend. Melanie taught me to crochet as I watched her tutorials on RU-vid. She had the best tutorials on RU-vid. I wore the scarf and hat I crocheted today in memory to Melanie. I am heartbroken 💔🥲😔

I started following people on RU-vid because the community is so loving and giving. I feel cared about and that is the rewards I treasure most. The sharing and teaching so that I can become a better crocheter, is great, but I some of these ladies make me smile and I feel want to help each other. Tiffany, did you see the coin toss for the Super Bowl? Melanie's husband, Robert, was an honorary captain for the coin toss. When the broadcast aired his 20 second bit, they showed Melanie! Robert never said anything about Melanie being a part of it. My whole family was caught off guard. I choked up the second I saw her.
Oh my gosh I missed that! I didn't pay any attention to the coin toss during the Super Bowl. I think I was still carrying food. 😄 I have to see if I can re-watch that though. What an incredibly powerful moment. I too would have been caught off guard. Probably would have lost composure completely. Melanie Ham meant a lot to me and still impacts everything I do to this day. I heard that Crystal did a long tribute either in her Community section or on Instagram but I do know that she did one. So not sure if many others did too but just in different places. She was very well known so I’m sure they are out there. ❤️❤️❤️
