they are the same. eBay took $160 of my funds and never returned. Customer service says yes, the money is mine, but for some technical reasons they can't return it and no one is able to help. Escalated tickets stay untouched and autoclosed after time passes.

Hell yeah, anyone who has had money taken from them by the company should join in. Doesn’t matter if you get your money back, it’s about checking major corporations that think they can just start popping off whenever they want without fear of having anything done to them. This helps protect anyone who Buys and Sales moving forward by at least putting some fear into these companies.

I am sooo glad this is happening. It is way overdue! PayPal froze $348 that was in my account. No warning and no explanation. PayPal said in an email that the money was being held in case of possible chargebacks and that an email would be sent in six months to inform me on how to receive the money in my account. Six months later PayPal essentially stole my money saying that it was for “liquidated damages”. When I asked them how I had monetarily damaged PayPal, I was told they could not tell me for “security reasons” and that the only way to find out way to get a subpoena and serve their office in San Jose! I will never trust any company that provides monetary services like PayPal again. When cash is gone, so is your freedom. Think about it.

Speculating here, but I'm assuming PayPal over extended themselves and was "looking" for money where they could. I hate when companies have vague TOS' and then punish people for "violating" them; if people are actually violating rules make it clear so people still want to do business with you. Glad to see them go to court.

i regularly sell sneakers and clothing on Grailed and this is constantly an issue, especially seeing as how they ONLY use paypal on that site. there is nothing stopping users from buying something from your page, and in my case, those things cost anywhere from $250-$1000, waiting for me to ship it, and then file a “fraudulent charge” on paypal and the money immediately gets pulled from my paypal/bank account without even asking any questions first. i’ve had someone wait 4 months after the item got delivered, only to have them file a fraudulent charge and try scamming me, forcing me to temporarily lose large amounts of money and then go through the most obnoxious series of hoops to prove that i got scammed, only to wait months longer just to finally get my money back. they’ve had this coming for a long time, i’m glad to see them finally receiving a heavy dose of karma.

Paypal has been hit with multiple lawsuits over the years, they will dodge and weave how they always do which is a shame and this will go away from memory ….the fact that no one here remembers any lawsuits is really telling.

Totally agree brother! I think we've all been shafted in one way or another by PayPal. They were supposed to be the alternative to banking, but instead, traditional banks have adopted their tactics... like ridiculously high currency exchange rates. This use to be a value added service from the banks, but now it's become a source of revenue. All the more reason to adopt crypto! This is why BTC must succeed and the likes of Elon Musk be kept away from decentralized finance.

They have been doing this for years upon years, it was 2018 when they limited mine thankfully I never kept any money in the account but it still frustrated me as it was a way to make extra income which I no longer had the ability after it was limited and then deleted.

Paypal is awful, antiquated, and just taxes the crap out of everything for doing nothing but facilitating an automated transaction. Why do they have so much power for doing almost nothing and why aren’t there more banks stepping in to cut out this middle man. PayPal is like a mob boss, you can’t do business unless here until you give them a cut.

I had issue with paypal...they don't deserve capital letters.They told me my card was expired mmm my card said 2024. What year is it? Oh it's 2022 so huh. Did some research 2024 was the expiration date off the store shelf. Still did not make any sense. My account started in 2022...account was canceled because of this very odd bologna. Wrote to a consumer report agency with same story! Lesson learned...Do Not Deal With PayPal!

I have a locked paypal account. It doesn't have any money in it, but it did lock me out of using it to buy/sell and screwed with many of my plans because of that. The reasoning was also patently absurd. (They accused me of selling illegal stuff that would logically warrant a police report, yet they never dared contact the police which shows they had no real belief I did anything wrong and just wanted to flex their authority.) I think I may had been an early ginuea pig for this sort of stuff in retrospect, and I'm glad I didn't keep money in the account and by now all the cards and payment info on it are expired. I'm rooting for the class action.

Hmm. I am sure paypal must have a ton of things to monitor for, including money laundering, sales of illegal or restricted goods, and other regulatory issues, as well as other violations of their terms. But I really don't understand why that entitles them to just confiscate the money with no explanation or way to defend yourself.

This is what they are doing, holding money for millions of customers for 180 days and earning interest on it. The explanation they gave me was that all of a sudden my account had a lot of activity. Do they even realize how much of hard work and marketing dollars were spent to rope those customers in. And then they seized my money which was required to buy raw materials to process the orders. Without the funds I cant complete my orders and soon angry customers would want their money back. I have seen rise and fall of a lot of enterprises. But this one is suicidal. Its killing itself. I have been with them for almost 20 years and I have decided to close my account. There are many other options. Going forward I will have at least two merchants and my choices are chase bank and stripes. One question for the community, how can I join the class action suite. I got all my money back but it was so painful to deal with PayPal.

Thank for posting this video. I've used them almost weekly for the last 2 years and never had an issue, thankfully. Wondering if the issue is when you use them when selling something? I use them to pay bills and buy stuff online. I know they held my money about a week when I sold some comics on Ebay in 2019, but I didn't think anything of it. I guess I need to rethink things, I read tons of negative reviews after watching the video...

There is a discord group chat server about this with hundreds of Paypal users (if not thousands) who had their money stolen by Paypal right before the 6 months expired. Everyone who had money stolen (no matter the amount) should join the lawsuit. Time to short this stock.

Had the same issue with PayPal, never got the money back. Its a theft processor not a payment processor. And ebay should just be boycotted its a facilitator of PayPal.

I got banned from their community page, I still have PayPal but cannot go to the community to ask questions to other users. Why I get banned you ask? Because I called out their moderator for bullying! It’s so messed up! I was there to figure out how to get my money because they held it! Has this happened to anyone else?
