In response to regulatory changes focused on combating money laundering, PayPal has made adjustments to their services in Thailand. As a result, certain features or facilities may no longer be accessible to foreign users residing in the country. These measures are implemented to ensure compliance with the updated regulations and maintain the integrity of financial transactions within Thailand.
To adhere to regulatory requirements, PayPal has implemented a policy where only individuals with registered business accounts (PAYPAL TOLD US ONLY THAI CORPORATIONS) can utilize their services for sending and receiving money as well as making online payments for goods and services. As a result, users with personal accounts will no longer have access to these features.
In addition, PayPal account holders MUST enroll in the NDID (National Digital ID) program. This is NOT available to non-Thai citizens!!!!

Stopped using PayPal years ago. Nothing to do with Thailand use Wise instead cheaper and better rates

Hope the changes go smoothly. PayPal are a nightmare to deal with. I had problems with my UK account after moving here mainly due the impossible nature of trying to communicate with them.

Paypal Sucks ! I love Thailand, one day will retire there, but the government's, laws and protocols are so wishy-washy, they just can't seem to be consistent on any ruling? They really need to work on this because a huge amount of people are retiring now, the demographics of the world is mostly retirement age, so many people want to go retire, but they make it so difficult that people are finding other counties and governments that make it easy, so they go retire and spend their money elsewhere, it makes no sense for Thailand ! I wish they would reach out and get somebody educated and trained in navigating this stuff other than just dropping an ex police officer or cabinet member that has no clue pertaining to the job! They lose so much money and potential decades of easy money for the country?

I am 70 years old and I have been watching RU-vid ever since RU-vid started.. I have been watching your channel off and on ever since it started.. you had, and remember I said you had the best RU-vid channel about Thailand on RU-vid.. actually in my opinion you had the best RU-vid channel on RU-vid..you did exactly what you said you would do in your title..you told how why where when and most of all how much.. all people looking to retire in a foreign country are mostly worried about money and how much things cost and that's what you were showing.. also people are very interested in medical facilities and how much they cost and insurance for older people in Thailand and overseas.. you got sidetracked but that is okay because you did it honestly.. my grandparents were farmers all my uncles and cousins were farmers and my father was an electrician / farmer.. I never wanted to be a farmer because it is lots of hard work and I do not like that kind of work.. I forgot more about farming than most people will ever know..maybe you will get back on track but I doubt it because for some reason you have been influenced buy something or someone that does not make sense to me.. if you want to boost your subscriptions and views go back to comparing the prices and telling how much things cost in Thailand and showing us like you used to do.. everybody really loves the rental videos especially the great cheap finds .I remember you used to go into a restaurant and show us the menu and the prices and then show us the food.. do what you want to do as I know you will but I'm just trying to give you some friendly advice.. I think you were the best RU-vidr on RU-vid at one point.. I have got lots of great information from you and thank you very much and I used to could not wait until your videos come out.. now I just checked you out from time to time but I will be watching you closely because it seems like you may head in a direction that I like.. I never have joined a RU-vid channel and I never will but if you are in a bind and you needed some money for a medical emergency I will surely send you some money by Western Union for that reason.. thanks for everything that I have learned from you about Thailand and living overseas except for the farming of course 😮😮😊😊

Paypal is a PC left-wing organization. I just use my credit card if possible to avoid using them, but some places still only accept paypal , I think that'll end as new options are becoming available.

I did away with PayPal...I set up a savings account with a routing number..now any payments go to that account...just a thought.

Considering it's internet based, just leave it with the overseas contact details. By not updating to a Thai address or bank should avoid the problem.

I closed and deleted my PayPal account 2 years ago. I disagreed with their TOS and that they are not restricted by the FTC.

Digital ID is being pushed globally for monetary tracking. Appreciate all your hard work. Other tubers I follow are: Retired Working For You, No Time To Be Sad, Thai Girl Gift & Foreigner Joe, Paddy Doyle, Rides for Kickz and CB Media. Your channel helped me for my first visit in 2015 and second visit in 2019. Headed to Thailand in February for the 3rd time before i retire in 2025. Stay healthy, Thanks and Good Luck.

I've had mostly plain issues dealing with my U.S. PayPal account since moving overseas. Transferring money has been impossible for me from my Stateside account to the Overseas one due to TAX LAWS conflicts; according to the PayPal representative. I pretty much stopped using it; outside of digital Stateside purchases.

Tanks for the head-up JC. I've been with Paypal and eBay from the start (former business partner's wife was a banker who worked for Musk at the founding of PayPal), and I was a big fan PayPal until they merged with eBay, when it doing business with both companies became more like a contract with the mafia. I still have a Paypal account in the U.S. but I would never base a business on it. It's not the business model we grew-up in JC, and from my experience doing business through them, when you strike a deal with companies like PayPal, eBay and Amazon, understand you, are not their customer, you become their commodity and to degree their employee and property. Hopefully there will be something old-world dinosaurs can do outside of the emerging Global AI, Digital Slave State .

I had issues with PayPal 3 or 4 years ago. It was a USA account. They wanted a USA address and snail mail address verification of my address. My response was easy closed the account.

Using PayPal in 2023 is tantamount to using Travelers Checks to pay for a hotel over here instead of cash ;-) Glad you've moved on from that. If you need to take payments and get that money into your Thai bank account, Stripe is simple and also allows for a much more complex level of sales should you have expansion. Opening an account is simple w/o massive paperwork requirements... 2c2p works well if you have a business doing many transactions in Thailand - not sure if that applies to you guys. I'm guessing your payments are from USD/GBP/CAD/AUD that you then convert to THB. My experience is to keep the incoming currency in those currencies in my WISE account and then schedule an automatic exchange transfer w/in the app/website (e.g. Move USD -> THB when exchange rate is 34:1 or higher). JC and Nat, Always happy to see you guys. While I've been a member on your channel U tube has linked me to: No time to be Sad, Joe and gift, Kru wee teaches Thai, chocolate man in Thailand, the guy in Phuket with Bum boss, Jeff Carter and a few others that have crossed over the rainbow bridge. The other channels I watch are One rental at a time, Bigger pockets Dion talk. I no longer watch news of any kind or any negative input about current affairs in Gagaville. I have already done all I can do . And am no longer interested in that subject. .The only thing in life you can truly change is yourself. Just saying this will more than likely offend someone. I have learned to think like Chuck . I do, really hope we can get back to retire cheep, or I would even settle with net working to create financial freedom. THANKS FOR ALL YOU HAVE TO HELP SO MANY OVER THE YEARS.......
