In this clip from The Andrew Schulz FLAGRANT Podcast, PBD explains his podcasting and conversation style. The conversation takes a turn when he uses Chelsea Handler as an example.
That’s true, I’m kinda shocked because most people don’t spend the energy to think maybe there’s an underlying psychological reason for people’s decision
WOW you all reaching that real reason it's that she doesn't have to want kids... i'm 38 and never wanted kids .... no trauma . my first experience losing someone close was 2 yrs ago when grandma died ... i just don't want kids and i have friends without kids feeling complete .... relax LOL it's not that deep
Yeah and even after hearing what she went through it doesn't change my perspective about her. Having something bad happen to you doesn't mean you are allowed to be a POS to others.
I'm tired of giving mean spirited people like Chelsea Handler a pass, she's just not nice and also very condescending. These people always have sob stories but if you give them room they will destroy you and laugh.
Imagine listening intently to a man born in Tehran, Iran at the time of the American hostage crisis in Tehran and being fully engaged with his energy for life. 🧐
I was part of the Iranian Hostage rescue, not all Iranians are hostile indoctrinated individuals, we had a long relationship with Iran for YEARS, During the time of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. even during the time of the Ayatollah there were still good people
The problem with Chelsea Handler is she is extremely narcisstic, arrogant, and bitter, so sets herself up as a standard for others and could care less about the idea of loving God. Many people have had harder lives, but sought out the spiritual and loving standards of Christ. She doesn't care. She lives only for herself. Spare us the misguided compassion.
@@shewholaughslast I like women. I have no problem with a woman president, for example. It's the person's character that matters. You make a presumption that hints you don't like men. I know nothing of Sandler. Handler is simply not a good person.
@Amy Despite what feminists have convinced themselves is true the vast majority of straight white males do not hate women. Or gay people. Or trans people. Or black people. Or disabled people. The enemy of straight white men is other straight white men, and there is no hatred between them just competition. Mean spirited progressives / activists projecting their own negativity onto decent people is getting very tiresome.
@Amy I'm a woman & I have no idea why she has a following at all. I find her so annoying & her comedy is low brow & unintelligent. She's never said anything that I've found 2b funny. She has 2 b shocking 2 get an easy laugh out of a low intellect audience.
PBD took the high road. An example for all. Get above the name calling and mocking. My own opinion, it does illustrate how Chelsea's behavior is a projection of her regret. The reason may actually hit too hard for her self-esteem, no man wanted to stay with her in a relationship. Thus, she needs to project the reasons on something else. And Andrew, do your friends tell you that haircut looks good?
lol andrew knows how much sh!t people give him for the hair cut, he jokes about it, and honestly... I think it's the reason he still wears it like that
This is why long form is so great, and listening to people. These great podcasters who don’t worry about the reputation because they simply have a guest on, they’re the best! They help us go forward.
Everyone has had tragedies and hardships. Chelsea isn’t special because she lost loved ones or people close to her. Bad things happening don’t give you the green light to be shitty and condescending to others.
Ya want to know the real reason she doesn't want kids? NO ONE wants HER to be the mother of their children, and she knows it. She is so hateful, condescending, and self-righteous.
Her trauma as a kid shaped her into the hateful person she is now. Maybe if she had gotten help she could have been someone who is capable of the genuine love and self sacrifice needed to be a good wife and mom.
And you sitting here along with the millions of people passing judgment are an exemplary model human being? 😅😂. I don’t care for that lady and I am not a democrat or a liberal, but the obsession with that drunk old hag is both sad and pathetic
Pbd is pbd. He's not emotional like Rogan. He's very strategic and calculated yet real af. He's a man with established values that he unwilling to bend the knee for.
Here’s an additional perspective: CH got pregnant twice when she was 16 and had an abortion both times. The first time, she told her parents, who told her she should have an abortion and that they didn’t want to raise another kid. They drove her to planned parenthood. She said it was the most “parenting” they had ever done. The second time she must not have told them because she paid for it herself. She naturally wanted to feel loved by her parents and to that end convinced herself that they were right and kids were stupid anyway.
@@dr.badass702 That's just false. She was the one who commented on them on Twitter. And while we are being factual, she's less relevant than PBD is these days.
Couldn’t agree more. He’s an inspiration to learn the art of communicating without personal attacks and just hard facts that everyone could implement more of
I like Pat and think he’s a good interviewer but look up how he made his money. Insurance multi level marketing with many many upset and disgruntled former employees/customers etc. So I’m on the fence because while Pat is interesting, when he talks about business you can take it with a grain of salt bc he got rich taking advantage of ill-informed people.
@@willlazenby1050 People aren’t I’ll informed, they’re just naive.. he didn’t put a gun to anyone’s head, they can make money in it, but people are looking for get rich quick schemes and don’t realize just how much work and effort it takes to make profit
This is my first glimpse of PBD. Dunno his backstory, but in this clip it seems like Schulz is the host and PBD is the guest on his own show. Schulz is a natural. He'll get a late night show in a few years.
@@herbthompson8937 Oh. TY for clarification. I figured PBD had the center seat, it looked like his show. I don't watch/ listen to much podcasting, I had no idea.
Traditional late night shows are dead. They were already having declining ratings and the writers strike finished them off. I’d be surprised if they return at all, which is good because they suck anyway.
Much respect for PBD. I sometimes achieve something in the ballpark, but it goes against my emotional Celtic programming! I am a work in progress and appreciate good examples to follow.
I had a similar (minus the tragedy) experience as a kid... but still... I saw how stressed my parents were all the time. They would argue, and I could tell my dad absolutely hated his job (and he told me that later), but he had a bad temper because you could tell he kept a lot of stuff bottled up inside. A lot of it had to do with trying to maintain the family and keep up with the jonses', all while doing something he hated. He never once took a day off work or called in sick... he traded in his peace of mind to do his duty and I respect him for that, but wow did it make him miserable. I decided around age 10-11 that I didn't want kids.
@@ragebait988you act like you're above it all....... you will get old, your health will fail you, your kids will leave you, you will be lonely because old age is a reminder of frailty and death to them. You will die and be forgotten within a 10 year time frame at the relief of your children because your failing health and/or mind will be a hurtful burden. Your pride will suffer when no flowers will be found on your grave. You are not special.....
wait so out this story, how does one come to the conclusion that it was the kids that were the problem? sorry to say, but it still doesn't appear to me why you refuse to have kids?
If he had a bad temper, he wasn't bottling up anything. Not sure what your purpose was for sharing this but the only takeaway is that your dad was a miserable person & father that made sure his family knew they were partly to blame for that.
Respect to you, PBD, for actually doing some work to get context on another, in this case Handler. The Media, the 24 Hour News Cycle, quick views on our phones and YT, program us in the Illusion of Authority and Understanding. Who wants to actually make more of an effort to engage with someone and where that might lead? Possibly more agreements and similarities? Or deeper disagreements. I don't think her background and tragic loss of her brother prove Causation in terms of her enjoying being single and without children, but it might be THE reason. Maybe. She would have to admit that for me to prove your theory correct, but either way, my appreciation to you in modeling some thick skin as well as patience and compassion for her background. It still doesn't mean I give her a pass for throwing mud with "SDE" shaming tactics of "betas". She's too old to be talking like a high schooler. She deserves to be called out on that.
She would have to consciously know that's the reason. It's possible that is the reason, but she's not aware of it did to the defense mechanisms we all use to handle trauma.
Dec 19 2021 my older brother passes away in a car accident at the age of 57 our parents still alive in the mid 80’s the pain that this did to them is undeniably real that day i lost my ole family brother, dad and mom they never recovered and live in denial every day.
Pat starts with baseline. Start with your assumptions. Too many people take for granted we all have the same baseline facts and assumptions and end up arguing past each other
Yeah, a lot of people have trauma in their childhood or a rough upbringing. They still had kids and they raise those kids and were totally different as a result of what they endured. It’s called knowing that we are evolving from our life experiences. In my opinion, women who want to engage in lots of casual meaningless sex, have Daddy issues.
She's been passed around so many times that at some point no one wanted her so she draped herself in the armor of "I'm a strong woman who is happy not to be 'tied down' to a marriage and children". She's so far gone, she'll never come back. And that's a very flattering picture of her from probably about 15 years ago when she was still semi-attractive.
My Dad took early retirement at 62 and took on a management gig at a car rental place for years and then afterward took on a contracting gig for the gov't for many more years. He didn't stop "working" until he was in his late 70's.
The average girl is not going to want to be anything like Chelsea Handler. And just b/c she suffered a terrible tragedy doesn't excuse her mean behavior.
Credit to PBD.... I don't think he's the smartest guy around... But he clearly works hard and makes a strong effort in his appearance and delivery... Classic good salesman...
Q: who is PBD? A: PBD rambles on for several minutes and doesn't answer the question. Conclusion: PBD is a guy who talks a lot and tells stories that a certain group of people want to engage with.
Its probably a context thing but I find it very hard to follow the interviewee - but the bits I took are gold. I need to replay this a few times and maybe play it as 0.5x speed
OMFG, these two while being very different in history, I'd pay to be in both of their university classes. They are a masterclass on how to be #awesome in your space. And in general. #chaelisyourboss
@Manley156 I met him 2 days ago at Bellator. Great guy. When he showed up ppl just gravitated to him and he took pictures with everyone for like 30 minutes.
IF EVERYONE IS THE SAME SIZE.. HEAVYWEIGHT.. Which boxers style is the most dominant? - Ali - Tyson - Mayweather - Foreman - Chavez - Dela Hoya - other
My view on things is very simple: whatever you are saying = your message, the message should always be able to stand independent of the messenger. Now the messenger can give context but if your message/views can’t stand on its own 2 feet then your message imo has no value. People are always entitled to their opinions but if people don’t understand the world we live in, the times we live in , the fact that although we dislike having enemies they are all out there, there’s a time for cohesion and there’s a time for change and maybe when the enemies are knocking cohesion should come first.
@@jacksoncowsert6964yep. Live and let live. I get more heat from parents about my childfree choices than anyone else. Why force people who don't want kids to have them? Do they want neglected and abused children just to make society happy? Also, children don't always change you for the better. My cousin became an even BIGGER narcissist after having two daughters which sadly they're following her footsteps. I cut them off completely.
Conservative "logic": "If somebody publicly talks negatively about something then that implies that person is unhappy with their own lives and secretly believe that thing they say they don't like is true." "That's why childfree persons who talk about how great childfreedom is and how bad having to take care of children is really are want children and are jealous of those with kids." "That's why Atheists who talk about how bad and stupid christianity are really love christianity and know it to be the truth." Real logic: So, then, that would also mean all Conservatives are secretly angry about their own lives and know how pathetic and worthless their own lives are, and they know how great and awesome Childlessness and Antinatalism and Communism and Marxism and Atheism and Animal Rights Veganism, and the IPCC and Greta Thunberg and climate activists are because conservatives NEVER shut up publicly with their pathetic complaints against Communism and Marxism and Atheism and Animal Rights Veganism, and the IPCC and Greta Thunberg and climate activists.
If people/media/talk show hosts/everybody could look at things as PBD does this would be a better place to live with people talking and trying to understand each other vs slinging their opinions and trash at each other without knowing the true story behind that person.
Anyone who understands economics to the degree that Pat does among the many people he knows as well as can do actuarial....... Intelligent guy. Not a born salesman or communicator, a hard working guy with drive, that definitely makes it seem to everyone as if he is a born salesman and communicator.

Being married for 40 years and having two sons made me a better person. Most of us have had a dysfunctional family life. It’s our journey to get over it. As I’ve told my younger four brothers, there comes a time when you need to stop blaming the past and take full responsibility for your life and choices.
4:55 infinitely more respect for you man. Wow. It's easy to trash her. Really easy. She says dumb ish. Harder to actually understand why she is how she is.
That Patrick David is the perfect example of how to assimilate right, ( if your looking for a mold to fit in ) and so he just explained a perfect healthy example for not wanting to have kids , and she trolls for the same reason everyone else does clickbait.
