Some of the lyrics were interchangeable depending on the station. For example, WQED Pittsburgh used: (Where you belong!) We’re QED, we’ve got a different point of view (Where you belong!) You’ve got a choice, so make it see what we can do Where you belong Where you belong WQED (Where you belong!) QED!
The first show on PBS including the PBS 3-D Glass logo is "Old School: The Finale" at 11:59pm, on June 15, 1987. The music to this is beautiful. I loved it. One of the PBS stations here used to use an instrumental version of it for their ID's. I had no idea that it was a part of a bigger promo package. Didn't remember this particular spot before. Thanks for posting!
This PBS Promo came 2 years after the CBN Family Channel (Now Freeform), and 8 years after NBC used the same slogan's campaign "Just Watch Us Now." It's "Just Watch Them Then," if it were promos like KERA-TV Channel 13 wanted to use the on air 1990 PBS fall season 60 second high-energy promo.
Now this is the PBS jingle I've been singing along with since first saw this image campaign video on You Tube the lyrics though I feel should have included mysteries instead of mystery.

You darn right! And if only they can change the pbs sans logo back to pbs logo with pmn caecilia bold font and be more, then PBS is the best! Completely!
Actually, they didn't. The phrase, "Just watch us now" was not copyrighted by anybody. This is why PBS and the Family Channel (now Freeform) were allowed to use it in later years.
Not entirely sure, but the male singer sounds like Johnny Hooper, who also sang for the Dallas based jingle production companies like JAM Creative Productions, TM Century (now TM Studios), and Thompson Creative. Maybe one of those companies produced this?
