Hi, nice repair ! Question : I got a power supply which presents the same symptom (6.3A fuse explodes...). 1) in the primary stage) : - 4 pins rectifier : I tried to test it on circuit and ALL pins are short-circuit (multimeter beeps quickly as soon as I touch the pins). Is this normal in that test condition ? Can I test that without de-solder it ? - 3-pins regulator (sits next to rectifier, screwed in heatsinker as well) : again, not de-soldered, can I also test that for continuity ? I think it's in good shape, no beep, but I'm not sure how to test that properly, even de-soldered... 2) in second stage (between primary and secondary stages): - I can see a 2x4 pins IC whose surface is partially broken, I can see its guts (identification impossible)...
Antec bp450p blown Symptoms: blown fuse, flown mosfet and diode. Replaced all. 5v on pson and 3.3v on vsb standy coming. Vsb seems faulty. Starting with the green connected to black, series lamp lights up. Thinking output is short. Any other ideas (I'm taking this slow)?
Since the series lamp lights up your problem is on the primary side not the output. When the mosfet shorted it damaged other components. Check pinout on main control IC. Good Luck.
Hi, the video shows you change two shorted mosfets but you appeared to change one or two resistors also is that correct? There was no commentary on this in the video.
Hi thank you for the most kind reply, must have been some debris you were clearing from your work area l saw.Excellent informative video much appreciate thank you for sharing
