GREAT VIDEO. I ordered a Medeli AKX10 today, hope to have it next week. Ability to add more styles & sounds are the key features that lead me into buying it. And this Grand Suite software makes the job much easier.

FYI, the Grand Suite v2 program only allows you to create unlooped Sounds of WAV files. However, if you have looped WAV files or have created them with other software and then import them, they will also be played back as a loop. It can import SF2 (SoundFont) files into the expansion pack too, in which you can use looped samples. A free program to create those SF2 Files is Polyphone from www.polyphone-soundfonts.com A payed Software (with 30 day trial)to create lopped-WAV Files is Awave Studio from www.fmjsoft.com/awavestudio.html

Здрасти. Скажите пакет расширение на Ямаха sx600 можно ли установить на этот синтезатор .Обязательно ли для создания пакетов расширения клавиатуру подключать к компьютеру.Я нашел в интернете звуки от D50 в формате sf2 ,как их установить на синтезатор ?

Hi Guys, hope someone can help me, I’ve created Phrase Pad via Grand Siute (actually I used mid file), save as .arp file. When use GS all sounds as I wanted but I don’t have clue how to transfer it to the instrument. I copied pasted the file into memory stick, but can’t find a way to have it under Pad buttons. Pls advise what I’m doing wrongly. Rgs; J BTW is any forum focuses on Medeli?

Do you have a video to show how to create a new styles from a MIDI song ? Style Magic is the software that does this for Yamaha arranger keyboards.

Wie viel Flash-Speicher steht für Samples zur Verfügung? Beim Vergleich der technischen Daten fiel mir auf, dass es bei den Angaben zum verfügbaren Erweiterungsspeicher verschiedene Angeben auftauchen. Manchmal wird 768MB und bei anderen Anbietern 256MB Erweiterungsspeicher genannt. Möglicherweise hat das AKX10 insgesamt 768MB Erweiterungsspeicher, wovon 256MB für Samples verwendet werden können. Neben der Größe des verfügbaren Sample-Flash-Speichers gibt es immer ein Limit der vom Keyboard-Betriebssystem maximal verwaltbaren Anzahl an Samples (Verwaltungstabelle im RAM-Speicher). So hat man beim Yamaha Tyros4 bis zu 1GB Flash-Speicher und kann maximal 9999 Samples verwalten. Beim Casio MZ-X500 sind es 256 MB Flash-Speicher und eine maximale Anzahl von 1000 Mono-Samples, die verwaltet werden können. So ist meist noch Flash-Speicher verfügbar, der aber auf Grund des Erreichens der Obergrenze an verwaltbaren Samples nicht genutzt werden kann. Gibt es dazu schon Erkenntnisse beim AKX10 ?

Die Frage ist gut und berechtigt. Ich kann Dir aber keine 100% gesicherte Antwort darauf geben. Was ich sagen kann ist: Wähle ich in der GrandSuite Software kein Keyboard für den Export aus (None), wird das Expansion Pack auf 256MB begrenzt. Wähle ich aber das vom Keyboard generierte Keyboard-Configuration-File aus, werden mir 768 MB angegeben. (15:50) Ich vermute, dies ist die Stelle, über die manch einer stolpert. Sicher ist es natürlich nicht, sondern nur eine Vermutung. In der Bedienungsanleitung werden hingegen 256MB für den Expansion Data / Customer Sounds / User Samples angegeben. Außerdem, dass man User Data auf einen 256GB USB Stick ablegen kann. Zudem steht Speicher für 200 Songs zu 20.000 Events, 500 User Styles, 500 User Sounds, 200 User Arpeggio Patterns bereit. Wobei sich diese Dateien selbst alle im KB Bereich abspielen dürften. Das muss aber nicht zwangsläufig stimmen, denn ich habe innerhalb meines AKX10 etwas gefunden, was auf eine veränderte Revision zum ursprünglich gedachten Produkt erahnen lässt. Vielleicht berichte ich da mal drüber. Jedenfalls kann es selbstverständlich möglich sein, dass der Speicher nach dem Druck der BDA auf 768 erhöht wurde. Innerhalb des Programms werden mir wie gesagt 768 MB angezeigt. Eine Anfrage bei Medeli HK könnte ggf. endgültige Klarheit verschaffen.

Great video. Where did you download the GrandSuite Software? On mine I see that maximum expansion pack I can export is only 256 Mb...

@@DorinMacariMusic I have more information about this. Please refer to 15:50. You must export a keyboard configuration file and select it. Then you should see 768MB.

Hey.. that's great review, but I have a question what if i want to save the original expansion the one that came with medeli akx10? just to not mess with it can i make a backup or i have to import it to a usb stick? plz explain to us how can we do that? Thanks..

In the delivery state, there was no content in my expansion pack. So there was nothing to secure/backup.

I'm now wondering if you can import sounds and styles from other - far more expensive - keyboards into this keyboard and how those would sound ( imagine the styles of a PSR SX 700 or 900 on this keyboard ) .

As I mentioned in the beginning of the video, I have not found any loop option for wav and so usage is very limited. Apart from that, you can no longer edit the imported sounds in the expansion area. Only the effects, but no other settings. P.S. As I learned today, you can use loops / repetitive samples as SF2 packets without any problems. These are then played continuously. So, if you have an SX900 SF2 Package you are able to use it.

I have new information, I have tried a looped WAV file and this is also played back as a loop. You can create them with Awave Studio, for example. www.fmjsoft.com/awavestudio.html#download
