Aaron, I too purchased the Yong Heng compressor in an attempt to midgate additional fill costs and vessel purchases. The thing that is amazing about carbon fiber bottles is even if they do fail, they splitter open and release the air. They may scare you due to noise but they will not explode like a non wrapped metal or aluminum bottle. I had my bottle hydro and epi tested when there was only 1-month life left on the bottle to reassure myself that the bottle was still in good working order. While the DOT 15 year rule is still in place as it relates to any business or institution to fill it, I have the confidence of knowing that a hydro test is good for 5 years and I will fill it with my YH. I also agree with your position on why 4500psi fills do not matter anymore when you have your own compressor, when your paying for a fill, I agree, give me 4500psi but when I have my own means of filling a tank, 3500-3800 is plenty. All the new cats coming in have no idea how good they got it. I appreciate your videos and information. Stay safe.
Hajimoto Productions where you have your information that steel and aluminium tanks explode? None of them do, the scare is there so you keep buying new year after year again and again, driving sales
Aaron, you nailed it. Air guns have recently given me a new lease on an activity that I love, shooting. Fortunately I have a very large back field consisting of several acres in a otherwise very populated area. I bought a Benjamin .22 Steel Eagle break barrel last summer & it helped me remember how much I loved shooting & hunting. Age has caught up with me at 70 but I'm back! I liked the Steel Eagle so much that I just last Friday received my Benjamin Armada PCP in .25 cal. I have a filled 74 cu.ft. new carbon fiber bottle coming tomorrow from Pyramid Air. I'm eyeing the Yong Heng compressor for when I can slip it by the wife later this summer. Dang, I'm already looking at .22 PCPs since they are now legal for small game here in PA. .25's are legal for groundhogs of which we have an abundance. Go Penguins! 😁 I drool over the Air Arms S510 with a walnut stock. It's gorgeous! Maybe next year! First on the list though is the Yong Heng compressor. Most folks seem to be happy with the compressor and convenience of having one. The newly available Umarex Gauntlet PCP is selling for $299 and appears to be very accurate and allows new air gunners to not break the bank to get started. It is, after all, a $300 gun ,so lets see how it goes for a little while. Your Impact is a top of the line Air gun that has won the "Extreme Benchrest" competition. We can all put something like that on our wish list, however, we all may be able to get that kind of accuracy at a much more reasonable price in the not to distant future.
Glad to have your back. both your guns have proven accuracy and the pump should complete everything you need to be totally independent. I have springers and of course PCPs and just like you I live with neighbors all around but I can still shoot my guns everyday in the back yard. As for hunting I now can get permission from places that would not allow me to shoot my .22 cal. And the quietness, I went squirrel hunting on a small piece of property all day with his the kids playing outside and the guy and his wife on the deck and they never heard a single shot. When I came out of the woods with several squirrels he had forgot I was there. As for the Impact it is accurate in bench rest competition but your Armada would do just as well in a hunting situation and you would still have lots of money in you pocket. Thanks for watching. Good luck.
That Yong Heng compressor has to be making all of the other manufacturers pull their hair out! I'm serious, I bet they hate this company with a passion!
The good thing is it will help bring the price down. In my opinion the US Manufactures are crazy over priced. I can buy 3 Yong Heng's for the cost of 1 made in the US
I would think so. I wish I could buy an American made our one from any democratic nation for any where this price but unfortunately I have to save money however I can. Thanks for your comment.
Matt Mann supply/demand sets the price. Not greed. However it IS Capitalism that has brought this economical compressor to the market. Someone saw the demand, and said I can do that for less. Now we have the Yong Heng, bringing prices down through capitalism.
GREAT review Aaron. I purchased my first airguns recently (a Ruger Blackhawk Elite .177, Umarex Gauntlet .22, and a Hatsan Carnivore BT65 QE .30). I've been moving pretty fast and bought a hand pump for $50 on Amazon. I then turned around and saw a deal for this Yong Heng for $275 from Walmart, so I purchased this also. Now, I just need to find me a good SCBA tank off eBay with about 3 years of life left and I'll be ready to rock!! Thanks to guys like you, who are proficient in the sport and share your knowledge with us new guys, we can make sound purchases and feel good about it. Keep up the GREAT work!
Sorry I just found this comment. But boy you really jumped in with both feet purchasing three guns, a compressor and tank. The Gauntlet is a very accurate and the BT65 is a accurate killer in .30 caliber. Now all you need is a .25 and you will have them all. Thanks for watching. Again I am sorry I am so late getting back to you.
How well do you do with your Hatsan carnivore. I have the 9 mm and it is Very hard to get Is accuracy out of it. I've tried slugs those seem to be a no go I do use 81 gr JSb's. But just not happy with the accuracy. I have The new side lever cocking and it Does not like to cycle the magazine
Now (2 years after this video) you can easily get a Yong Heng for under $200 and free shipping. With your advice on buying tanks and extremely accurate “entry level” PCP’s it’s even that much easier to get into the “Dark Side” and not go broke doing it.
Glad to know that you are getting started without breaking the bank. I shot my $500 P17 .177 cal against my $1,800 .177 cal FX Impact at 40 yards and it was a virtual tie. People want me to push the P15 out to 100 yards but 90% of my shots are inside 40 yards so why would I. Thanks for watching.
I appreciate your videos your honesty and your information. I did just get one of those compressors and I'm going to add that water oil separator to mind I've only used it twice so it's not too late thank you
Hey man glad to see someone that wants to help others. Looking forward to seeing you put out some more videos I followed your information to a t and did it I even bought the FX impact what a gun and a hawke airemax 6x24 got the tank on eBay for $135 del free and bought the Air com on Amazon for $350 perfect. By the way 4 shots and I was shooting pellet on top of pellet and driving nails at 50 yards unbelievable it was a real joy. would like to see you improve the the night vision have a good one
I like what you did. Purchased a great gun and then saved money on the other items. Very smart. As for the night vision if you compare the quality of my $79 camera and $79 Evolva IR against the systems that are costing up to $450 your will find that my camera comes very close in quality. As for your choice in guns I Love my Impact also. The tune ability is great. I shoot my gun on the power 1 setting and can shoot all day with one fill. I find that the accuracy stays tight through all six power setting. Have fun with it. Thanks for watching and good luck.
2022. bought a Benjamin Maruader Pistol. my first pcp . did get a yong heng instead of a hand pump. charges the marauder in 15 seconds ......just starting into pcp .... 👍👍
I think this compressor is a game changer/ a door opener into airgun for someone like me. Some of these airguns and compressors cost more than a good firearm. Thanks for sharing.
You make good content the more I watch your videos the more I buy this air gun stuff is crazy accurate and a lot cheaper ammo for what I hunt air gun works just as good as my rimfire
To me it works better than a rimfire because I have got permission to hunt and pest in places where I could never be allowed to use a rimfire. and I shoot it in my backyard and have taken to friends houses and shot it there too. The cops would have been called if i had shot a rimfire. Thanks for continuing to watch. Best of luck.
Aaron, Just an update as to what has happened since I wrote my last comments 1 year ago. I am in deep! In addition to the springer and .25 Armada, I did purchase the Yong Heng compressor which is working just fine so far. Oil level is critical on that machine. Just a little too much and some can pass through & prematurely mess up the little spongy filter that comes with the compressor. You just have to change it more frequently. I also bought the gold filter & use the molecular sieve for moisture control. I also purchased an FX Streamline laminate in .177, a .22 Daystate Huntsman Regal Huma regulated, and recently a .30 FX Wildcat synthetic that I plan to use on targets, groundhogs and coyote's. I'm set for now and have no plans to get into anything else, although your night vision video's have me thinking but I have resisted thus far. Keep up the video's, I look forward to each one. Paul
Boy you really jump in with both feet. A Armada, Streamline, Huntsman Regal, and Wildcat? Which one is your favorite. Sorry to tell you this but your next purchase will be something in night vision. Glad your Yong Heng Compressor is working well. Thanks for watching.
@@aaroncantrell8819 My favorite changes constantly to whatever I'm shooting that day. I really like the Streamline for pesting and squirrel hunting it's very accurate. I like the Armada for constantly changing/adding to it. I've put it in a Marauder synthetic stock and am now adding a higher cheek piece to a Boyd's Blue laminate stock. The Daystate Huntsman is a piece of art and superbly accurate. The Wildcat mk2 is also extremely accurate. I love rifles that are more accurate than I'll ever be again. As far as jumping in with both feet, I decided I'd better do it while I still can. I even recently finished building myself a shooting bench which is very convenient. Now our back field is a 100 yard pellet gun shooting range but I haven't tried shooting beyond 50 yet. I think I'll spend some time with the .177 Streamline & lower the population of chipmunks around the house after I catch up on work around the outside of the house when the weather permits. Happy shooting!
I have one for over a year and my friend Ken has two of them for over two years without a problem. Also almost everyone who has replied to my videos on the Yong Heng agree that is it a great compressor for $230. Ken has an Omega compressor that he paid about $1,500 for and it is broken and both Yong Heng are still going. Thanks for watching.
Great video Aaron. I never thought about going to the firehouse to buy a tank. I'm glad you told me about that thanks. I have a scuba tank and a benjamin tank. I have been looking at them on ebay and amazon. I want a carbon tank but I don't want to pay allot so now I know how to get around that thanks. I want to thank you for all the information you put out.
I got both of my tanks on eBay. One was 14 years old so I could get it filled for one additional year and the other was only 6 years old so I had 9 years to get it filled. Now with my Yong Heng I can fill them myself so the date on the tank does not matter anymore. Thanks for watching and good luck
aaron you can hunt on michigan state land depending on your area i hunt in caro michigan with a 22 or your air gun thank you for your commets . happy hunting
I use to hunt state lands but quit years ago due to an incident that sent me running to private lands where I and my friends are the only hunters. The air guns allow me to find more private land to hunt. Also a 22 has up to a one mile range. My pellet gun has only a short range. I like the safety of the air guns. Thanks for watching and for your comment.
Good Video AARon....Hi Carl, I am from caro area.. but moved here in Daytona Beach Florida in 1988. I was surprised to see somebody from Caro here.. I use to hunt State land all the time.. west of Bevens /East Dayton road intersection... Lot of State land in Tuscola County. Nice to see a fellow Michigander here...
There were some guys in the woods who were feeling not pain (if you know what I mean) and did not know we were near. Well they just shooting all over the place and bullets whizzed by. We yelled loudly and got the hell out of there fast and said never again. The nice thing about PCPs is that almost every farmer and land owner will let you hunt. So there was no loss. Thanks.
@@aaroncantrell8819 Man it blows my mind how irresponsible some people can be. Being impaired and handling firearms is a disaster waiting to happen. I don't blame you for not hunting public land anymore, that sounds scary.
yea, you can now send your older scba tank in to a place to get it tested and if it passes you can have the life of the tank extended to 30 years from the date of manufacture. if you have a scba tank and want the best scba fill adaptor look at our Stikman. www.AirTanksPlus.com
This is news to me. At our local scuba shack the told me that they would not fill my carbon tank after the 15 years are up even if I get it tested. I will check around. Thanks for the information. Good luck.
I have a Shoebox and paid $800 for it new and now I can't get anything for it. Love my PCPs also. Sorry I just saw this comment because it was placed at the bottom. Thanks for watching.
Sir, can you please make a video regarding the tanks (where to purchase, pros/cons, what to look for, etc)? I’m new to pcp rifles and have been hand pumping.
I just visited your channel. I see you like glocks. When I was looking into getting a hand gun everyone recommended it but I thought it was too expensive so I got a used Ruger 9mm for $150. Hundreds of rounds through it and only one jam. I guess I am still cheap and looking for deals on good quality products like the Yong Heng. Thanks for your kind comment and best of luck.
Great that you are getting info out to new airgunners. My outlook is that I would rather invest $2000 in a good compressor as opposed to getting a $2000 PCP.
Given the choice I would always spend all my money on a good PCP and then go budget on the air compressor. I say this because your will be using a the gun a great deal more than the compressor so it it the item that need to stand up to the pressure of lots of use. I only use my compressor every two or three weeks. However if you are planning making money by filling the tanks of other shooters then your will certainly need a quality compressor. Thanks and good luck.
There are a lot of unknowns about these new low cost compressors though. If it break down, who do you get to service it? There are a lot of information about the shop compressors. Also, the filtration system is set for Grade E dry breathable air so moisture is not a problem I need to worry about getting into my guns. I have several PCPs and shoot a whole lot and have several tanks- I've had my compressor for a little over a year and after filling my tanks and some friends tanks (free), I still have less than 2.5 hours of run time on the compressor. It's not due for a service (oil change, filter change) until 50 hours. It will probably still be running after I'm done shooting and my son will still have use of it.
I don't agree with that. I think that if you get a great gun it will hold its value for a long time but no one will be interested in you used compressor. I think the "gun the thing" not how it is filled. Also a compressor cant shoot a 1 inch group at 100 yards. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Good luck.
I understand. I know a couple of people who went the cheap route on a compressor but eventually had to buy a more robust unit after the cheap one failed and they couldn't get parts to repair it. As far as holding value, you can go to any of the big airgun forum classifieds and find great deals on PCPs all the the time. When I got my RAW I paid about 60% of retail and it was only a year old. I got a great deal on my Cricket rifle too. It took me a year to find a good deal on a used shop compressor. First of all people don't sell them that frequently. Try to find a used Bauer, AirTex or Shelden compressor less than 10 years old. And if you do, the price will be close to retail. When you start getting more guns the value of a good compressor will be so much more important.
This is the best deal in the world right now. Only $332. Check it out: www.ebay.com/itm/Fireman-Scuba-PCP-Carbon-Fiber-Air-Tank-9L-CE-Cylinder-Pressure-30Mpa-4500Psi/232781521119?hash=item3632dc20df:g:EAkAAOSwqblauIwC Thanks for watching
Quick question Aaron, I filled my tank to 4500psi and I mistakenly closed the valve on the tank before turning off the compressor or releasing the air from the drain screws and now my Yong Heng compressor blows air out of the black oil fill cap instead of the fill hose, do you have any idea of what the issue could be I would really appreciate it ,TIA
You can purchase them on eBay but if they are over15 years old you will have to get a compressor and fill it your self. I jus purchased one with 4 years left on it for $200 but I got lucky. Thanks.
Great video as always Aaron! I have two questions for you... One, can you give some of the fill times you have seen on your tanks from the YH compressor? For example, I would love to know how long it would take to top off a 45 minute tank from 3000 psi up to 4500 psi. Second, can you share the name of the ebay seller you used? Thanks!
The name of the seller is Mechsonic he is based in China and he has 2,866 sales and 99.1% feedback. I will not be able to tell you how long it take to fill a tank because I only fill my tank to 3,500 psi when it fall below 3000 psi. If I got a new tank I would take it to my gun club and have it filled to 4500 and begin my normal filling methods. Thanks!
I agree that they are very expensive and I have been shooing PCPs and filling them with a Shoebox Compressor for over 6 years and I have never used a water or oil filter. Not going to start now until the price comes down. However, I will look into it. Thanks for watching and and the comment. Good luck.
There is an assembly that can be purchased on Ebay but it sells for about $179 plus shipping. But there are a couple of videos on RU-vid that shows how to make one for about $75. That is what I did. I got all the parts on Ebay and then put it together and saved over $100 which I used to purchase another pre-owned carbon tank. Thank and good luck.
Boy you guys are getting robbed. just think... 100 fills will cost $2,300. Over time the air could cost you more than two PCPs. Thanks for watching and for the information. Good luck.
I will give update on the pump's performance over time. In the mean time I am sure that you will find hundreds of others who are doing the same. Yes I love my purchase. Thanks for watching and for subscribing. Good luck
How’s about an update on the yong heng, I finally got one but mine failed after 9 90ci bottle fills including top offs, I did everything as was sposed to be done. Now looking for diff compressor.
My compressor is working without a single problem and my friend Ken's has been working for over two years. I am sorry yours did not work out. Was it the water pump. A few people said that they forgot to put the pump on or it failed and the compressor then failed. Sorry I just saw this comment because it was placed at the bottom.
o aaron, wondering about your ideas on trigger pull weight? I'm sure its a big topic on them shoots your were talking about. nice work on your vids. oh yea, I see the redwing hat. you by Detroit??. thanks, randy.
Randy I love the Red Wings and the Black Hawks. To me trigger pull has never been an issue. The springers I had before getting into PCPs had trigger pull over 3lbs some times and I seldom missed my target. So for hunting I don't thing that trigger pull is an issue. However, for shooting bench rest competitively it would be an issue because the actual target is the same size as the pellet. Also you will not see hardly a guns under $1,200 shooting I a bench rest match. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Good luck..
thank you aaron, the reason I ask is I'm tweaking my marauder. I'm at about a pound rite now. I want to set up for a good hunting, target combo. yea, I'm in royal oak, mi about 20 mi. north of Detroit...your videos are way better than all the rest....keep up the great vids !!!....thanks, randy.
I try to set my trigger over a pound and a half for hunting and just under a pound for target shooting. Be careful not to set the trigger too low for hunting to avoid misfires. Thanks again.
thx aaron, I shall set-up to 1.5 pounds then. I am getting .25 groups (1 hole) at 10 yds as of now....like I said I'm a noob to this hobby, and great thx for the help. peace, randy.
Arron, I have an oxygen tank that is not being used, Wondering if I can convert it into an fill tank for my pcps. If so what items would I need to convert it over into a fill tank
Yes you can. Both of these tanks were fire rescue carbon fiber 4,500 psi tanks. I made the fill adapter from parts I got on ebay. It cost me about $70. But if you have the aluminum 3,000 psi tank the fill adapter can be got for as little as $19.00. Thanks for watching. Best of luck.
@PELLET MAN You need to get a carbon fiber tank that can hold 4,500 psi. All PCPs hold at least 3,000 psi so a tank that is restricted to that pressure can only fill the gun to about 2,800 lbs. the first fill. And it drops a lot after that. Best of luck.
Because you are so close you should check out the Southern Michigan Gun Club this summer. We have lots of members in the PCP section and an excellent air gun range. We also have fun shoot Saturday's and various competitions. Guys also sell lots of stuff to one another which could be an opportunity to sell your compressor. Thanks for watching.
Can you recommend what pcp guns to look at for entry-level. I have started watching several videos for research and it is alot to take in right now. Thanks
Sorry I just saw this comment because it was placed at the bottom. I have several to recommend: P13, Puncher Breaker, Gamo Urban, Gauntlet, and Hatsan Flashpup. Thanks for watching and again I am sorry.
Does this compressor has an moister control? I want 1 of those kral with a bottle on it ,im not going to fill up with a hand pump lol......so how has the compressor held up so far? I saw them on ebay but haven't heard anything about it...
No it does have moister control but I purchased one on ebay that separates the oil and water from the air. I have had the compressor for over a year with not problems. I don't recommend a hand pump when you can get a Yong Heng so cheaply. Sorry I just saw this comment because it was placed at the bottom. .Thanks for watching.
Aaron are the 4500 psi paintball airtanks the same as for the airguns? I see allot of them on ebay and I was wondering if they are the same ones for the airguns?
Yes but they are small and the attachment for filling the gun is different. I would recommend a used Emergency Services carbon Air Tank. Get either the half hour or hour tank both are much larger than the paintball tank. You will have to get an attachment for a fill probe no matter which one you get. Thanks for watching.
I got it on ebay. I purchased the small tank from a person who had over 100 for sale. The large one came from a person who was selling several that included the tank, mask, harness, etc. I won the bid for $140 and I was surprised because the other he had sold went for about $350. I guess I bid at the right time. I still see "lots" selling on ebay from time to time. Thanks for watching and good luck.
I have had it for 2 years without a single problem. Check out all my videos on the compressor and read all the positive comments from happy owners. Thanks.
Get a New Hatsan Bully bull pup .25,,30,, 45 ,,cal 899 $ be out this year march why pay 1500 for a ataman ?? or the high priced bullcrap That hatsan bully is same platform as the Hurcules with same power just in a bullpup version. Get this pump I got one too for 300 ebay works just fine Good viveo AARON
I have a Hatsan Gladius in .25 and it is an accurate gun that is fully adjustable also. Hatsan make a affordable product that performs well and is accurate. Thanks for the comment.
Yes you can. I have the exact compressor and do not have a tank yet. I fill my Marauder from 2000 to 3000 in approx. 30 seconds. Forget those $1500 to $2000 compressors. This is all you need. It is small enough to take with you and if you have a power source you may not need a bottle.
Where did you find that info? The water cooling system is separate from the compression chamber. They do not mix. Water vapor is a natural by product of compressing air no matter how you do it. The Yong Heng comes with a water filter on the fill hose that seems to work fine. For the short amount of time the pump runs to fill my gun I am not at all worried about water in the gun.Buy the compressor!! Other than a good scope this is this single most beneficial addition to your shooting gear to make this hobby enjoyable.
No I have not had it hydro tested. But I know that carbon fiber tanks are way over engineered and have been tested after 30 years to the 4,500 psi and have been found to be stable. I will just keep filling it to 3,600 psi. Best of luck and thanks for watching.
@@aaroncantrell8819 ok kool . I have CGA carbon fiber tank in great shape has two years left on it but I think I will just fill it out to 3600 PSI as well and not spend the money to hydrotest it
@@silly800ify Keeping the PSI to 3600 will also save your compressor. As for the carbon tank, I had heard that the government was looking at extending the time from 15 years to 30 years on the carbon fiber tanks. It is my understanding that it is because these tanks were originally designed for emergency workers not airgun shooters is why that the standard was set so high. Thanks for watching.
Not any louder than my 125psi compressor in the garage. However, if noise is a problem you may want to get a hand pump. Thanks for watching and good luck.
@@aaroncantrell8819 no i dont have a channel. Just been watching yours & agreed with you about being a loner. I have a very small group of friends cause i hate what comes along withthe normal human nature i guess. I just purchased my first pcp Kral jumbo but of course its backordered. Im in Virginia so guess we wont be shooting. Keep doing what ur doing good job!
@@picosterplinkster7954 I just looked up the Kral Jumbo and it is good looking, powerful, accurate and has a great price point $599. Good choice. Glad you have a group of friends you can depend on. Thanks for watching.
a i like your comments but i rather buy a cz 22 rim fire with a silencer it is a lot cheaper and better i dont have to replace the seals and every thing else that goes wrong with pcp air riffles plus try to get your money back with a pcp .
I have a pcp that is over 15 years old and still have the same seals in it. Plus changing a 50 seal if not going to kill anyone. I have three 22s. One Magnum, one 22lr and one automatic that shoots all three ammos (22 longs, 22 long Rifle and 22 shorts). I have not shot them in over 5 years because I have to pack them up go to the range or to hunting areas to shot them. Plus almost all the private hunting places are saying no to guns. However I shoot my PCPs everyday in my back yard and only go to the range to shoot with my club members. Also I have not been turned down by farmer or homeowner when asking to hunt with my "air gun". Also farmers love us to shoot those pesky rats, pigeons, starlings. sparrows, etc. Like to see you do that with your 22. Also I still remember when 22 ammo was $40.00 a brick. Pellet guns my cost more at the outset but when you add up the many opportunities to shoot and have fun ever day I will keep my PCP and keep putting "at least" 100 pellets a week range while your 22 collects dust until you find the time to take it the the range or woods. If you live on a farm with lots of land then I take back everything I said. Not trying to be "A H" just trying to point out the benefits of owning a PCP. Thanks for watching and for you comment. Good luck with your power burner.
