SO FUN to watch the last sections of the PCT here in Washington through your eyes. These two sections are my most favorite part of Washington along the PCT. Except for that water crossing at Kennedy Creek...and all of the blowdowns after Brush Creek. Hahahaha!

A great series of PCT vlogs. Many of us can't spare 5/6 months to thru hike so it is interesting to follow that perspective/challenge here. Section hiking has it's challenges ( and it is what most hikers do) but this is an epic thru hike account that is well narrated and insightful. If I thru hiked then this is a good blueprint for maintaining drive and enthusiasm for sure. A lot of pressure to complete but that seems unlikely these days with the amount of fires in CA and Oregon . Gear reviews ( albeit sponsored!) shows what can make it through the 2600 odd miles.
So exciting to see you all finishing the trail in all its glory and all its turbulence. Fitting that it was raining and rainy pass. You guys have persevered through many things. Yay at getting to the boarder. Keep trekking. 😀

Thanks for taking us all along on your adventure. I have followed you since you left Kennedy Meadows. I was at Kennedy Meadows in late May and saw the place for the first time. It was very nice to see the place. I had no idea that meadow area was so nice. Yes it begins to get very cold in September and October in the mountains. We usually get our first snows in September in the sierras. It does not stay on the ground until late October to November. Winter is coming fast. By October most nights in the sierras are below freezing.

Too bad on the fire closure at the Canadian border. I saw a monument at Rainy Pass that someone made because in 2018 the same thing happened. I started hiking a bit of the trail every other year since 2015. It is so addictive because of the wonderful people and of course the scenery and adventures that you have. Take care! Deep, deep thanks and gratitude to you for sharing this incredible adventure with all of us. I think for me one of the coolest things was watching the friendship that formed between you, Stinger and Spice. Got a little teary-eyed when you all got your tattoos. And got a little teary eyed today, watching you all reach the border. As you say at the end here, it will take time for the meaning of it all to trickle into your life, but do know that what you've done has radiated out into the world, as you can see by all the great comments from viewers. You take care and carry on.
I / we go up into the sierras high country several times a year. The best is from May to August. Because of the longer daylight days and warmer nights only to near 30 degrees. By September we are loosing about 2 1/2 minutes of daylight per day. That means we loose over 1 hour of daylight in 1 month. Camping in later September in the mountain valleys of the sierras the nights become nearly 13 to 14 hours of very dim light to darkness. It is not great to spend over 12 hours in a tent in the fall. The best is the later spring to early summer with nearly 14 hours of usable daylight and fewer hours in a tent.
Congratulations to all of you of this epic adventure. We looked forward to watching your videos on Sunday nights knowing we will never hike the 2,500 miles that you have done. Living on the west coast we have been able to hike sections of the PCT. Would be interesting to know what the other hikers do in the real world when they return.

Great filming and sharing this and I cried and cried when this was over. But you inspired me (age 61) going to hike (a section only!) but the i or J section next summer. (With my 30 year old daughter) Have my list ready (thanks to your good list) and already calculated weight and practicing backpacking more here in Colorado. thanks Arielle!

Thank goodness you started feeling better before the significant blowdown area, it would have been tough to do with no fuel in your body! Congratulations on your achievement, just sorry you had to go through the fires and lose some of the visibility, (we are still enveloped in smoke here in Seattle) perhaps you can come back and do the area's were you lost the magnificent views a clear day can offer one day with hubby. And so the mystery of how you reached Canada is finally revealed, Ross Lake and the Trail of the Obelisk! Wonderful you got that photo opportunity and the "victory shower". I am thankful Sam was the 1st to reach the slide, not the one to be caught in it. You were a joy to watch, thank you for sharing everything with us!
Arielle…..it was really fun watching your videos about the PCT. You have such a cute face and an adorable smile. Hiking this far was a hard accomplishment for all of you and especially the women. Congratulations on completing your hike. I did subscribe also. I did this part about 1993 with a female friend and sorry you missed some beautiful areas due to smoke or clouds. The trail goes along the west side of Glacier Peak and you showed nothing of it. Also the pass on the NW side of the peak has incredible views of the North Cascades NP. We had to carry heavy packs also but had two pack goats with which carried supplies too but one of the goats was lactating and we milked her every night, picked wild berries and had that in instant pudding. Great memories also. I guess you live in Aspen, Colorado and I love Colorado also. We live in NE Oregon at the foot of the Eagle Cap Wilderness which is like around Aspen. Come see us sometime. From other videos I knew the border pct trail was closed this year, but I am glad you all found a way to get there! Beautiful scenery, I especially liked all the terrian changes along the way. Your open personality and camera skills made me feel like I was part of the adventure, thanks for taking us along. And thanks to your trail angel, Sam for the editing.
Arielle! Hi, and congratulations on your completing the PCT! I was concerned (from my house in Gig Harbor, Wa-ten miles west of Tacoma) that the fire issues would adversely affect your progress and sure enough, you guys had to do some pretty serious workarounds...But you did it! Well done! Rainy Pass is well-named! Even in the beginnings of fall, the North Cascades can be pretty wet-at least west of the Cascades! Under those conditions, in normal years, a few miles east of the divide, conditions are remarkably dryer! It’s unfortunate that you missed the heart of the North Cascades-Mt Terror, Mt Challenger, Mt. Baker. I was anxious to hear your description of that area, but the weather unfortunately, nixed that out! Still, you did experience Goat Rocks and Alpine Lakes! I am a big fan of yours, Arielle; I’ll be watching out for more postings! I had the last day of my 70s today... it was a good thing I had a jazz gig today to take my mind off the age thing! As an award-winning composer-pianist, I hoped for more work here in WA, but it’s pretty bleak-except for writing! But I digress... congratulations again for hangin’ in there and finishing your quest. You’re right; you’ll look back at this journey and reflect with joy and probably some sadness that you’re not back up there. Believe me, that’s the way I feel a lot looking back on my mountaineering trips-particularly in the Sierras! Take care, girl and have a fab reunion with your husband and fam! Happy for you and your fellow trail hikers. Amazing adventure that will stick with you your entire life. Even when you didn't feel well you managed to stay upbeat. After watching you and others, my admiration for anyone who survives this massive physical and mental challenge is worthy of my full respect.

Thank you for the epic journey .. I'm familiar with portions of the PCT in Oregon and northern Washington, though following these virtual adventures beginning at Campo, CA has been a most satisfying experience I've looked forward to every Sunday. Hopefully, your videos will for many years to come inspire viewers to appreciate the beauty of nature and the need to respect and care for it so future generations can continue to have these experiences.
Congrats! It's a shame that you had to go off-trail for the last part, but it was still an unbelievable achievement. I'm sure you'll go back another day and hike that final official stretch.
You're awesome Arielle. I've seen so many examples of women like yourself and Meandering MeganB and Kelly Hays Hikes (both last year on the AT) experiencing pain and adversity, and yet persisting and succeeding through brave determination. Of course, sometimes it's equally brave to know when to quit. I watched your Tahoe Rim videos previously, and I look forward to your future adventures.
That was a great hiking adventure. Too bad about all the fires. I can't believe with all the rain that Washington was getting, that there would be so many fires. California I could understand, but not Washington. Maybe next year you can go back and hike the parts you had to skip. 👍
