After all the sirens go off on your radios, they usually play like 3-5 seconds of the 1050hz tone. When they do that all at once, it sounds like an orchestra tuning.
Raymond Wang o well I can hear the tornado coming Spleas take cover mediately OK all right goodbye oh my God brother tornado warning I need a warning you I'm I want to what a tornado warning set we just under a tornado watch is not anymore mom man now I have to take cover immediately says I can't believe you're under 20
Most sirens in Chicago are 2001’s which are not the ones in the now famous video with the sirens using the alt wail, which the 2001’s can’t do. The sirens that did the alt wail in the famous video were likely (but unconfirmed to be) Modulators. The modulators rarely do the alternate wail.
Um... nope, don’t come here. REALLY don’t come to freaking Texas, about 66 tornadoes hit here every 365 DAYS. I remember in Texas there was a violent EF4 tornado that happens not that long ago. That tornado almost killed me, I had a broken leg, 2 broken arms, and i went deaf in 1 ear. Just. Don’t. Come. To. Texas.
On most radios there is a switch on the side of the radio which can disable the NOAA alerts, i have 8 radios, and i always disable them before i go to bed, and how i will get alerted incase of one at night, i’ll know ahead of time and put my phone on vibrate
I remember when St. Louis got a "PDS" Tornado watch, and my stomach literally dropped into my shoes. Turns out, nothing happened, but that means it's gonna be REALLY bad weather. Like, LONG TRACK TORNADOES/SOFTBALL SIZED HAIL/EF4-EF5 TORNADO type situation.
October 2021 I live near Farmington Mo and we were spared by less than half a mile by a High end EF3 tornado that got a tornado emergency in Chester. Should have gotten the TOR-E for when it entered St Mary but the NWS was dealing with a lot that night.
For those of you who don’t live in the Tornado Alley or Dixie Alley you will never ever encounter a sound as terrifying as aTornado Warning blaring from your phone at 3 am. I can’t describe the feeling of knowing you can’t do anything about what’s coming. That every single precaution you’ve taken is instantly rendered useless the moment an EF-4 or a EF-5 comes rolling through town.
I have had a NOAA WX Radio for 20+ years . Saved me a few times for sure . Just one question here , how many Weather Radios do you have , and why so many ?
What to do when theirs about to be a tornado 1. Get your butt up and go to the store to get lots of devices 2. Go back to your home and act like their was never a tornado warning 3. Get annoyed when you hear the alarms 4. Run down the stairs and don’t trip 5. Don’t stay calm Hope this helps XD
@@OzarksWX I know what you mean, but I had to spell that out with my text-to-speech software, and I realized you meant "place". The emphasis is on the letter a. It's the "long a" sound you were hearing in your head.
me too when i was in a severe thunderstorm warning with a tornado watch and wind advisory in my county in SC on April 13, 2020, the power when out from 5:23 AM to 2:00 PM (i think)
This was when crs was still around. I really miss the crs. I like bmh paul, but crs is what I heard from 2011-2016 before they stopped using the crs and switched to bmh.
In my house when they say tornado warning, I run to the basement with a basket full of my electronics, pillows, blankets, sketchbook, food, water, and my puppy... Anyone else?
Yesterday (or August 24th, 2016) i caught a Particularly Dangerous Situation Tornado Warning on Camera, for Grant and Miami counties, Indiana, which i live in Blackford County, Indiana and i live next to Grant County, Indiana, it was due to a EF3 Tornado that destroyed much of Kokomo, Indiana (in Howard County, Indiana) it was my 13th EAS alert on Camera, and it said "This is a Particularly Dangerous Situation, Take shelter now!!"
***** if i was listening to WXM98 i would have caught a Tornado Emergency for Kokomo, Indiana in Henry County, or if my Weather radios decided to go off for a SVS on KJY93, so yeah...
Guys imagine if the national weather service announced this, “The National Weather Service In (state) Has issued a Triple Storm Notification Message, a Triple Storm Notification Message is a Severe Thunderstorm Warning, Tornado Warning, and a Blizzard Warning” and so on Scawy
A tornado had not yet formed, Radar just indicated rotation. The only reason why it was a PDS was because the storm had 100 MPH wind gusts. if there was no rotation at all, it would be a PDS Severe Thunderstorm Warning insetad.
when there's a PDS tornado warning and tornado sirens are going off and the NOAA weather radio says that it indicated rotation and you're like crazy and your friends start screaming so loud your ear blows up and you're scrambling to the basement as fast as possible before the tornado hits🌪😱🤤
I live in Kankakee county IL right by cook county this tornado was coming right at my house but then turned thanks to god . Good thing I have a deep basement to . Around 2011 to 2016 is when I’ve expirenced the most SCARY tornadoes of my life and THEY WERE ALL NIGHT TORNADOES 🌪
All mobile devices need to sound like a mini siren I have the air raid siren app tho my nephew loves to play with it cause he loves siren head lol. We need this voice back it doesn’t sound so scary and doesn’t mispronounce things as much it does but not as much as the new one does.
Hey dude. I love your weather radio. Could you pleas tell me what brand and version you have, because I want to research it to see if a blind person can program it. Thanks so much.
Oh and btw this video is at 60fps before RU-vid enabled it. So I guess this was uploaded in 60fps before enabled so it enabled all videos that is 60fps. It can be from 2005 and it was token in 60fps it probably go 60fps. Just like 720p or 1080p wasn't at that time, but if the camera recorded it in 720p or 1080p, you probably can go back to 2005 and watch in hd and 60fps.
At the part when the Phone went off I immediately was so shocked idk how the hell a Siren could sound on a phone for a weather warning. I remembered one time this happened to me to a Tsunami Warning and the siren almost sounded like this. I didn't know weather warnings trigger a siren to go off on a Phone, Original to say the least.
Just another question. First of all, let me tell you that I'm totally blind, and I couldn't help but notice at least one dog. I just had to put mine down, and she was my fourth Guide Dog, and it's so good to hear a dog whenever I can. What type of dog is he/she, and if you have others, could you please fill me in? I'm so glad you've got one or more, and I've lived through 2 tornadoes. Our dogs got us through so much throughout our lives, and we can never show them enough how much we love them. Great audio, too! Keep up the good work.
