I actually remember hearing about this tornado while it was happening. Usually its like the next day or something. I live on the east coast but I remember it all over social media as it was happening!
Awesome catch. That storm gave me 2-3 inches of snow during the morning of March 23rd, 2011, and the temperature only hit 34° for me, then literally that evening on the same day, I got thunderstorms with a temperature of 33°, and I got loud thunder, lightning and a mix of rain, sleet and hail.
Why did this person run outside during a shelter in place message? Shelter in place is meant to tell you to go inside and enter your shelter (shelter) in place (your shelter)
You don't hear severe Squall lines capable of producing tornadoes very often so you should take cover immediately when you hear the warning or when you hear the word Squall lines
