I have used tap water here in all my brews never had a problem. depends on where u live and how the water is. Here it's pretty good water.

I used to brew beer back in the day, but now I pretty much only make wine, ciders and the like in 1 or 2 gallon batches. This video reminds me I want to make some sort of fruit wine when my cider / apple jack itch is scratched. Great video my Brother. Happy belated B-Day. CHEERS!!!! DJ

I stir my musk twice a day for seven days! That gives a really nice mellow half &. half wine ! It's not real dry and it isn't real sweet either! Makes a really nice dinner wine for drinking or sipping with a good movie!!

Nice vid justin. The pectic enzyme prevents pectic haze in fruit wines. And aids in the clearing process. Much like bentonite does for grape wines. when used together though, they cancel each other out. Potassium metabysulphate kills yeast and other bacteria by producing sulfer dioxide gas. It should be mixed in a small amout of water before pitching. And 24 hours has to pass before pitching yeast for best results. That wine looks good already my friend. Should turn out fine. I haven't made as much wine as you, which is why I was asking, but ya, if I'm using potassium metabisulfite I get it all in there first just in case that additional sugar has any micros on it. Sometimes I pasteurize instead though.

when i made wine i just cooked the fruit on the stove top strained the fruit then cooked the sugar then added the sugar water to the juices and a one fourth a teaspoon to the gallon of wine now just halve to refilter it after it firments to taste mine taste more like a spritzer but that is like what i like.

does the sulfite also help ward of any oxidation when transferring or racking?

I have yet to brew a beer yet I started with wine and got the bug now I have a list of wines I wanna make and it just keeps getting bigger it seems. I have heard the apple jack is quite good. thanks for watching and the b-day wishes. cheers

Do you keep your fruit and use it after your wine is made? I do it makes really nice jams an jellies! With those I make flavored ice creams or glazes for meats I'm going to smoke like pork loins or ribs! The rassberry black berry makes a great glaze for smoked salmon!

thank you for watching you aren't able to find a second part of this recipe because the batch got infected. this is the only batch I have ever had to dump so I am not sure where I went wrong with this particular batch. but it was made very similar as my plumb wine you could watch that video and use peaches instead. sorry the isn't a second part I do plan on doing another batch of this sometime in the future. thanks again for watching and if you have any questions along your journey into wine making I am here to help. cheers

there is no second part of this wine I will make one in the future, but this batch this time went bad for some reason and I had to toss it. you can follow the plum wine video its the same process. sorry for the confusion on this recipe. thank you for watching and subscribing. if you have any other questions feel free to ask. this is the only batch I have ever had to throw out by the way. cheers

So for your recipe how many peaches to water to sugar? You mentioned 3 lbs to 1 gallon. and filled to 6 gallons of water?

Rob Marshall how big of a batch you making? after adding 3 lbs of fruit per gallon of fruit you then add the amount of water for how many gallons you are making so 5 gallons of water for a 5 gallon batch. then its about 2 lbs of sugar per gallon this is an estimate of course depending on how sweet the fruit is. best to take a hydrometer reading I like to start my wines at around 1.090 starting gravity. but if you are new to winemaking 2 lbs per gallon is a good place to start should give you around 12 percent abv in finished wine. hope this helps you out. if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. I just made my peach wine this year and will be editing the video and posting it within the next week as I used a different method this year. so watch for that very soon. thank you for watching and for the interest. cheers

When you took your starting gravity, not all of the sugars had leeched out of the peaches. So you SG was probably a bit higher.

a big oh no. so everything went as planned. My measurements seemed good. Everything was clean . pitched the yeast. Within an hour she was bubbling away. Woke up this morning nothing. I stirred the batch hoping for it will start again. I'm at work so no idea if it's going. Bad yeast?

Rob Marshall could have been bad yeast. give it a bit and if it don't restart then repitch a new yeast.

Unfortunately this is the only batch I have ever made that got infected and it smelled like rotten eggs. So I had to toss it out that is why there is not a part 2. If u have questions I'd be happy to answer them. Sorry for this. Hope you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching. Cheers

Do you mean where do I get empty wine bottles? u can order them from online but I get mine from local bars and nightclubs if you go in and ask them to save them for u most will then u just have to take them home remove labels as wash very well and sanitize.

makes home made wine and ruins it with tap water and chemicals..u don't need to add all the crap he say's u do...been making fruit wine for over 40 years using real water and no chemicals...yeast only

Couldn't agree more! Tap water has chlorine designed to KILL microbes. Sorta defeats the whole ferment idea.
