Born and raised in Atlanta, it's such a nostalgia trip watching this video now that I've left. Love getting to watch and experience the race through you.
You are awesome! I love watching your videos, and at 34 years old and not having run since high school (15+ years ago), you are one of my main inspirations for getting back into running after a long hiatus. Thank you for all you do!
Looks like a blast Ko! Glad you enjoyed Big Creek, I try to get out there on the weekends, such a fun flat course for running easy and putting down miles. I haven't ran since Adidas became the title sponsor for ATC, looks like they put a ton of money into the expo. Hope you make it back sometime! We also have some great trail races and ultra in the north GA mountains!
❤ traveling with you virtually on these runner weekends. 60k participants and that barefoot runner😮 always appreciate everything you do to inspire the running community, Mike!!
Let's go! The PRR is one of the greatest races! Hilly and tough but rewarding and an awesome community. I was wave A and finished just a bit after you I think! Congrats.
Love your videos! Think ATL is hot and humid, come down to Savannah, GA. Wish we had bigger local races. I enjoy the running community that you have built. Keep up the good work.
Great recap as usual Cousin Ko! Man Definitely something to think about mapping out a plan to run that course! Lots of ouzza consumption that weekend there 😅
Loved this! Next summer, maybe a runner's weekend to Alaska? Not a lot of people racing but there's a good chance of siding up to a moose or black bear.
Nice video capture of the weekend/holiday! Done peachtree 13 times before retiring from the road racing. That second big hill at about 4.7-5.3 mi. mark is the one that gets you. You got to try the trail race scene here in Ga. just do it between Oct.- March so don't lose pace in the heat!
Gahhhhhhh seeing the Olympic Rings and the expo center brought me back to the 2020 trials and how much fun the energy was there. You really capture the essence of what we love about racing. Well done, cheers!
I love your race weekend videos! They give us the best kind of FOMO vibes. Also that Adidas singlet looks so nice and thin. I tried to find in on their website but must be a limited edition 💁
The singlet kinda seemed a bit stiff and perhaps scratchy when I picked it up at the expo (almost like it had gotten starched at the dry cleaner). But it was great to race in. No issues at all
Shout out that ac repair man, really saved us there! Glad you enjoyed your time in running city USA, we promise it's not always that hot. Hopefully get to run with you next time!
Coach K: This is another Super Fantastic Runners Weekend. Every big race or city should partner with you as their Ambassador. What a collab - you, Drew, Fleet Feet, Adidas. Question: You wore Bandit singlet in Boston. Adidas here. NB in NYC and Asics in Tokyo. Which worked for you the best. Thanks!!!
Ran a sub 21 minute 5k time trial this morning for a new PB! Living in North Alabama I plan to run the Peachtree next year. My son had a horse riding accident 9 years ago and spent the summer rehabbing in the Shepherd Center so it will be almost 10 years to the day when he was there. I didn’t realize this race ran past the Shepherd Center until I watched some of the footage on the Atlanta news station. It will be a very emotional race and I will want to do the best I can because I know exactly how hard those kids are working to get back to back to living normal lives. If you go back, I would suggest visiting the Shepherd Center because it is such an amazing place.
I didn’t know that the patients would be out in the course to cheer us on. It was inspiring for me, even as someone who didn’t have a prior connection to the place
Congrats on the PB! I took just barely broke 21min on the 4th, on my mission to sub 20min by the end of the year. Do you have a similar goal by the end of 2023?
Really enjoyed this video. Thanks for showing everyone how fun the Peachtree 10K is and how we celebrate July 4th in the South. Also, thanks for including snippets of me in the video. Next time you are in town we need to get you some Southern-style BBQ and Bean Pie.
Oh man. That opening brought me back. I lived in Cumming for a few years up until 2020 and I got into running on the Big Creek greenway. I miss those trails. I'm in Charlotte now, but my love of running was born on those trails and on Sawnee mountain a few minutes north.
Love these runners weekend vids. Couldn’t help notice you using two watches can you share what are they ? Looking for a nice running watch besides my Apple Watch. Thanks Ko.
These runner's weekend vlogs are some of the best content on RU-vid. Your editing, the music, and most of all, your real emotion makes them great. Thank you for putting in the effort both on the road and on the computer.
I just registered for this years PRR. It m really excited. My dad ran Peachtree for several years when I was very young. I will probably watch this video 20 more times before July. I love your Runners Weekend videos. Thanks and take care.
As I was running the Peachtree this year, I thought to myself "I wonder if Kofuzi is running the Peachtree? That would be cool!".... and here we are! Bummed I didn't get to see you, but glad you had a great time in our wonderful city!
Tina Muir shared in her newsletter that her "plogging" (picking up trash while jogging) event (pictured at 7:51 had only one other person show up. I guess that folks didn't know, or just chose to run with Kofuzi instead.
Drew and I had planned on joining. The Adidas Runners event got a bit of a late start, and you saw in the video where we were in terms of when the event was ending. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out.
We’ve got a good 10 miler in the fall that you would enjoy. It’s also rolling hills and the route goes through the park. It’s much cooler and less humid as well .
