Yes and no. A hand has a lot more complexity. This is just a static palm and 5 rigid digits, comprised of 2 tubes and a cap. MUCH easier to draw, because you don't have to consider muscle or skin folds.
"Out of sight, out of mind." Edit: for everyone who's asking for the reference, I don't have one. I just remember hearing it from somewhere and my brain said: 'hey, remember that?' and then proceeded to comment it.
You know it’s funny my mom actually did that once I was like “mom I hit my elbow and it hurts so bad!!!” and she’s like what are you gonna do about it? I don’t know. Maybe I’ll just cut off! Go ahead. lol parents are so wacky sometimes! 😁
@@awkwardDebs Too late, I have an army of characters I've drawn like that. The only reason my newest oc didn't get that treatment is that I can't fit anything below their waist on the paper since I only know how to draw them at one size. I guess me being uncomfortable with more revealing clothes (on myself and my characters, others are fine) does help in hiding the hands. I DO draw hands sometimes, I just prefer not to because it makes the drawing look weird. Same with humanoid faces, drawing noses and mouths doesn't really fit with the more cartoony style I have. Before I continue, know that the oc I mentioned earlier is an Undertale oc (I made them to replace the old, cringy hybrid I made in 2020-2022) who's the second child of Toriel and Asgore. However, coming a bit after the tragedy meant being raised by only Toriel, who sheltered them a bit so they don't know that much about what's going on outside of their home. I decided to draw them somewhat recently and it was surprisingly easy to draw their face compared to the more humanoid ocs. I did play it safe by having their eyes closed, but still. Sorry about this being so long. By the way, I draw traditionally and kinda struggle with digital art.
@kitten1602 traditional art is fine, I didn't get a tablet until 8 years ago when I was 15. My entire life before that was just drawing with pencil and paper - but you're only going to hold yourself back if you avoid drawing things that are hard. Spend time *only* drawing hands, or drawing hands any chance you can get. It doesn't have to be complicated, just normal, neutral hands. When you learn how the hand is structured, you can push yourself to draw them in more interesting ways. If you want to get better or feel you're stuck, pushing outside of what you normally do is the only way you're going to be able to learn something new
*Victim is Drowning in pond* Parasite: oh parasitic lord hear my prayer and get me safe passage to paradise so that i may have many children Drowning Victim: *glop* i guess i better get eating this water *glop* Parasite: MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED!
Or just make it to where their own face is black out or scratch out, showing either lack of self-confidence to not wanting to sew their own face. Or amthstia and had forgotten what they look like themselves. 😊 👍
todays mission: fill an empty bottle of coke with soy sauce, and then add sparkling water for the fizzy look then give it to someone random at the street.
My DND character orphaned herself by setting fire to her family's mannor as a teenager and joining the streets as a rogue, becoming a thief and arsonist. She also set fire to a hallway in a prison, started a forest fire, and lit a werewolf on fire during a sneak attack. So. Yes. She likes fire. Fire is her main weapon lmao
@@SCP_V1l3-jI know that you’re saying you can give your character an eyepatch or something. But my brain is telling me that you want me to replace my characters eye with a wooden leg.
Whenever I draw people, it’s either hands behind the back or it’s horrific fungal parasite covering them. I would say that there is no in between, but there technically can be.
My solutions so far in my ocs: hands under cloak, one arm missing (prosthetic is anoying to draw when I add it tho), chunnky robot hand amd claw, *no hands*
I had a DND OC that I made after actually studying more anatomy, and hence made her a nimble elven athlete who is a bow ranger, proud of her mobility and health. ...I rolled very bad on an early Dungeon quest, lost an entire arm to a wombat beast, and uhhh...accidentally had to learn how to draw mechanisms and write an arc about adapting to an acquired disability.
@@lilpetz500 nah, when necesary, I just take a photo of my hands in the desired pose and draw over it I don't have those godly levels of patience you do have
@carlosdeandres4774 oh I do that the majority of the time, I just have weird and recognisable hands, and wanted to bring a little more variety to my art 😅
My solution for one of my OC was to basically have him shot in one eye (he is now a ghost and is very much in love with his ghost fiancé/ husband) so I don’t have to draw both eyes
(Jujutsu Kaisen oc cuz why not) 1. His sister and girlfriend. The rest of his family got killed so he cares about them a lot. 2. Pretty good. 3. i dont know what D&D is about but im guessing Sorcerer.
