I have been using capture clip for years first ver 1 and now ver 2 and I cant think going out and taking photos without it anymore. I have my Canon 5D Mar IV and Canon 100-400mm II IS USM on it all the time. So nice to be able to walk, climb etc with hands free and wihout anything stickin forward like I would have with the neck strap. Ver2 is smaller than ver1 and on ver1 you have tripod mount on back of it which is gone on ver2. When I was in Africa taking photos with two cameras it was really good to have both Capture Clips on my bag and I could work with two cameras really easily :-)

If your camera is big with a big lens, you cannot use this on the backpack shoulder strap without damaging it eventually. I would suggest you buy a leather belt ($30) and hook it on the belt instead. Put it to the side of your body so you don't kick your lens as you walk. Yes it too will damage the belt eventually, but you simply designate a belt for this purpose and use that belt until it needs to be replaced.
Love mine, one of the best products ever made. I guess you don’t know or forgot but it comes with two sets of bolts, one set is longer for thicker straps.
