May 11, 2021 the cold weather was still around in North Carolina so we headed south for a week to explore more of Florida's intracoastal waterway. We drove down to Palm beach County Florida for the day. We launched our kayaks at the Phil Foster Park Boat Ramp and paddled to Peanut Island park where we snorkeled the clear blue waters and explored the island. Join us on this adventure.

Love your content! I would like to know how long was the distance between the parking lot to the island? 😊 we are two kayaking beginners 😅

Thank you, the island is between 1/2 mile to 3/4 mile from the parking lot depending on where you decide to beach your kayaks on the island. The water is really shallow for most of the paddle so it's a good place for beginners to gain experience. The only area of concern is crossing the boating channel which are marked with the green and red number signs. If you are new to kayaking and would feel comfortable going outwith others there are a number of Florida kayaking facebook groups you might look at joining, some of them have group paddles to the island.
