Ni Hao. Everytime, I hear these songs especially, "Yi Dou Hua" by "Mim Haam", it makes my heart cry & really miss the distant Hmong-Chinese from all the instruments to all the folk songs, to all the clothes and to all the accents. Love all their cultures in China. Every songs, including folk songs that they'd sang are like a beautiful melody to me even if I don't understand every songs. These are our ancestors. I feel like they had kept everything such as silver smithing, new years(those huge stick pillars) as foretold in kwj txhiaj(folk song) & cultures & clothes since the ancient days. All in all, Hmong-Chinese-Miao are beautiful and colorful. Thank you for postings all these Hmong videos ^-^

I think the translation was slightly incorrect! I had heard of this phrase "peb yuav huab peb yuav has" before but could not pin point where I heard it from.
QaMee Lo They use our hmoob Laos and Hmong Meskas lub suab qeej na. Tus hmoob suav xeem Thoj no paub peb lus hmoob ntau. Nws siv peb lub suab qeej los hu zaj nkauj no xwb. It is like “tuag num nrws...tuag num nrws...peb yuav tshuab peb yuav hais...” thaum peb tshuab qeej peb pib lub suab no ua ntej. Every time I listen to this song is like I am listening to a Hmong tshuab qeej....
Anyone know the origin of this song? I’ve heard other versions sung by other Miao groups too. Is it rooted in the cultural revolution or something more recent?
The song is written by Tao Yonghua (陶永华)from Wenshan, Yunnan province. He joint local Ethnic Song and Dance Ensemble when he's 16, he learnt music knowledge and instruments during his stay. The song was written in 1987 based on a poet of the same name(which is also the lyrics) by Zhuang Yuanqi(张元奇). The song was soon adopted by all Hmongs in China, so yes there're many other versions in different Hmong dialects. Tao had visited Hmong American community in 1993 and 1995 with artist delegation from Yunnan province.
