I have absolutely zero experience with pedalboards. I'm just starting to collect some pedals and very quickly found out I needed one. This video is extremely helpful and completely cleared up the differences between the Pedaltrain models. Very amusing too! Thanks.

I bolted a PT1 and 2 together to make a grande. Followed you tutorial using 4 boards and the Joyo pedals. Thanks for the idea, worked like a charm!

Great videos HP! I have been watching you for a while now. I have the Pedaltrain Pro and it came with the soft bag that you're mentioning on your vid. I tossed mines out, that bag was so flimsy and I felt that it didn't give enough protection to my pedals. I replaced it with a MONO PT-Pro bag.. Now that's a serious shell for the board! Cheers!

Great presentation! :) I own the Novo 24 and although the top row is not as high as the Terra 42, I placed pedals that won't be bothered if they hit the lid of the hardshell case. Pedals like a regular size digital tuner and my guitar's wireless receiver. Most pedals I use (not a big pedal guy) are on the bottom row. So you might want to go that route on the top row. Maybe even place a small storage box (the same height and a size) that fits on the board that holds a small flashlight, extra picks and slides. Just some ideas.

about 15:30 - you can reverse the socket on every Yankee. New ones even give you an option to move it on the top or to the back :) Once you unscrew those two bolts on the socket, you'll find that it's loose hanging on huge fat and flexible cable, so you can move it around with no risk

thanks for the vid. I can never understand why these boards (and others) are so expensive, considering what you're actually buying- its just aluminum, not a single moving part. Is it even welded or just screwed together?

You can fit a CIOKS Adam or DC5 under those tiny boards for power! Get with it and stick your Strymon toys on the mini board.

+PiotrLatoMusic Yup! I got a Cioks DC5 for my Metro 20 board. I affixed it by drilling 2 holes in the Metro's rails and screwing it on (the DC5 comes with the 2 screws and a drill hole template). You may be tempted to mount the DC5 underneath with something strong like 3M Dual Lock, but I think that would be too thick, causing the DC5 to hit the floor when the board was in use. The Cioks DC5 will fit under a Pedaltrain Nano, Nano Plus, the new versions of the Mini (with the wider rail spacing underneath) and the new Metro family. Great power supply and quiet as a mouse. Oh, and no, I'm not affiliated with Cioks, just a happy customer.

I saw all the pedals on the racks...in general how do you decide what gear you want to play including guitars and amps? do you get to play them all equally?

Patrick Gutierrez It depends.... for studio sessions I often use new gear to see what it can do and to learn how to present it for the upcoming demos, but obviously it highly depends on what the song needs... often it is a gut reaction and feel thing... I have so many pedals that some options just don't occur to me.... if it sounds good, I made a good choice... Obviously I have "go to" guitars and amps, but sometimes I try an older one that I hadn't used in a while and am blown away... for delays I pretty much grab the Strymons... always a good choice.

Tiggerdyret Yes, there are several videos showing that setup.... it is perfect for that band and those sounds, but for something else, the setup might look radically different. There is a rehearsal video, analysis of sounds... tons of videos....

I play a lot, and used to with the case this guy is talking about at 9:30 in the video with a pedal board in it covered in pedals with the power supply. Holy shit its so heavy when you fill it with gear. It does however keep all my pedals safer than any case for any gear that Ive ever had. Also it makes you feel more like James Bond with a guitar but you wont like not finding a parking spot and having to walk it 3-4 blocks to your gig. Just bein real fellas! Edit: I think i have the bigger one "pedaltrain 2" . either way it nearly deserves wheels.

No, you can use the Cioks DC5, Pedaltrain Volto or Rockboard LT

(i didn't need all the girlfriend jokes, though...) you talked about the height of the pedals in the top row and that there might be not enough space in the case. what about the soft case? i guess the pedals in the top row won't be protected properly, right?

Henning, if you need more horse power to power up pedals with high currents for the Metro and the Nano pedalboards, please, do yourself a favour and visit: www.cioks.com and check out the DC5 and the Adam. Both have high currents and they fit underneath the Metro and the Nano boards. I know, that you're hooked on the Polish power supplies, but for my money, the Cioks are much more compact and versatile. NICHT VERZAGEN, KRIMSON LE DIABLE FRAGEN!!!

You Need recording skills, some playing skills, video gear and video editing software, plugins and video editing knowledge, be halfway presentable and then you need tons of gear and be able to get more by calling and writing to companies... and loads and loads of time!
