Head lifts and head lowers are exercises for neck and core strength in babies.
These exercises should be avoided if the baby's head lags back, and other positions like tummy time should be worked on first.
For babies with stronger necks, these exercises can be done in a vertical position, with the baby held on your lap or in your arms.
Two ways to do the exercise:
Initially, use one hand to hold both of the baby's hands and the other hand to support their head.
Once the baby is stronger, lower and lift the baby's head to a count of five without the support hand.
Aim for two to three rounds of this exercise to build neck and core strength.
