The book scene for this is a little different. In the book, katniss talks about how she still wakes up with nightmares, and Peeta is there to comfort her and eventually his lips. "on the night I feel that thing again the hunger that overtook me on the beach. I know this would have happened anyway. That what I need to survive is not gales fire kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself what I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on no matter how bad our loss is that it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that. SO AFTER when he whispers you love me real or not real? I tell him real". Sounds like she told him she loved him after that hunger took over. So this scene would have been a little different in that way. In the cellar, Gale (who knows her better than herself) said something about how Katniss will pick who she needs to survive. Well given all her nightmares and Peeta's ability to soothe her and make her feel safe she needed Peeta. Plus she's only felt that hunger for Peeta.
Yeah, in the book, the scene is different. Suzanne Collins discreetly implies that Peeta and Katniss have sex at this moment; with Katniss admitting that one night, she feels the sensation she equates to hunger and stating that after (after what?), Peeta asks and she tells him that she loves him.
after a decade, i've finally watched all the hunger games films and i was rooting for their love. so many time, i ached for peeta. so i screamed so loud when she replied "real". 💓💓💓
I’m literally in tears! I finished the book and the ending is so bitter sweet! Ugh I love Peeta so much, I love them both together! I need to move on now bc this emptiness I feel after finishing the book is not good🥺❤️
I find this scene sweet, though the scene is different in the book. While I know some people are picky about the epilogue with the kids being swapped and both being played by boys, I just imagine the baby is the girl because they didn’t really out right show if it’s a boy or girl (movies do it all the time with babies or young children). I do love that Jennifer’s nephews got to be part of it, Bear the older one took to Josh and loved to play with him.
Hey man, the first book was just a feel-good book that made me realize some guys could be kinder and I had ptsd at the time, I don't think Twilight shouldn't have been held to the standard it was.
I’m not sure what you should do but I wish you the best of luck! If you think it would make things awkward then maybe stay just friends but if you think he might feel the same then I think you should tell him. Ahhh I’m torn but I really hope you stay together as friends or whatever you choose!
