As explained to me by a Nike rep, they usually completely redesign on odd years, and give it a “facelift” on even years, so expect an overhaul in the 37
Love the Pegasus line (currently running the 35s- 2nd pair and the Peg Turbo). I agree with you they run hot in warm weather and can’t wait to retire my 35 and try the 36 out. Thank you for your 1st impressions. As always, keep up the great work 👍🏽
I really love mine, but they feel like they are for a faster runner, as for myself, I'm more of the back of the pack squad. I'll still use them though for everyday purposes & occasional run rotations. I'm thinking next years model will even be better, as with my experience with Nike shoes, every other model has more changes.
Hi, I just wanted to thank you for your motivating contents and videos, they helped me throughout my training. Today I ran my first marathon and my first race in general in San Diego. It was a great race, really enjoyed it even though I didn't do as good as I wanted to. Lessons have been learned during the training and the race itself, so I am already planning my next training cycle to hit my goal.
If they're similar to last year than no. I was a new runner and ran 200 miles in the 35 since I didn't know any better and my feet and legs hated them. I thought it was me and not the shoe but when I finally made the change and bought the Reebok Floatride energy I realised it was all the Peg 35. The Floatride Energy is a dream to run in everyday compared to the Peg 35.
@@ishowyouappleA combination of a very narrow base and no where near enough forefoot / midfoot cushion. Feet and legs took a pounding. Plus the upper is was too constricted.
Great footage as always but I always think when watching your videos "damn, he runs the whole time carrying the stick and camera. Isn't that awkward essentially just running with one arm"? Do you film the whole time during the run or just parts and the rest of the time you use both arms to run?
Most clips you see are about 2-3 seconds long, slowed down to 8-12 seconds. To get that, I may film 10-30 seconds. Sometimes longer. But the vast majority of the run is spent with the selfie stick shrunk down and the camera off.
as you said - you love running in water puddles. can you do a video how you clean your shoes from that dirt water, grass, sweat, etc..? just sit them to dry out or machine wash or whatever?
Voltron You should focus on your running, not cleaning. Who cares how the shoes look? Btw, that’s not OCD, and makes light of people who actually suffer from this severe disorder.
gracias for this. new pegs look fly (and the rest of the nike running lineup coming out). review request plz: nb fuel cell rebel, especially on a longer run!
I got converted to the Pegasus 35 for my long after years with my Asics Nimbus. The 35s are so comfy on the long rides and I really like the roomy achilless part.
So I have question for a Nimbus user. Can you name some particular features you still like in the Nimbus, and those you don't (that made you choose Peg36)? Now i have both P35shield and N19, but I'm checking what to step into next time.
@@mikowhy9608 I have the 35s. I feel the nimbus was a much heavier shoe (not sure on the weight between the pegasus and nimbus), which makes the pegasus more comfy on longer runs. There seem to be more cushioning in the nimbus which meant i had little to no feel of the road, but saying that it i do feel the nimbus is more sturdy in terms of materials. It depends on how you run too. If you land more on your heels the Nimbus would be better because the heels seems to be more cushioned. The toe box is much more roomier in the Pegasus than the Numbus, so that another point to look out for. Both are great shoes with good track record, so it's hard to choose. Having tried them both i would 100% go for the pegasus again.
I can't wait to try these! I'm still using the 34,35, and Turbo. Thanks for the awesome review! Do you find Nikes are your favorite type of shoe to run in? As a fairly new runner i find all the shoe options a bit overwhelming, so I mainly stick to one brand now.
Nice Review! I just started running in the 35 (got em for $50 at a Nike direct Store!). I think the tongue and back flair seems a little extreme and I also noticed they are a little "hot", but overall I love them. I have been a huge Brooks Launch fan and I think these are a little better. Very similar to the launch except a little more forefoot cushion. Launch still wins for upper comfort but it looks like they may have fixed that for the 36. I like that the Pegasus is nice and springy! Thanks Mike!
Jackrabbit or Macy’s. Got mine for $65. There’s also a sale on finish line. Great content as always. As a midfoot striker who runs in 4-6mm drop exculsively, do you think the relatively higher drop Nikes would suit ? If I'm not mistaken you seem to be striking with your heels and midfoot in this video. I guess the only way is to try ! Keep up the good work.
@@kofuzi Thanks for replying! I run in Kinivaras v9, Beacons and sometimes Zante v4. When I started running I had high drop nikes approx 12-13mm and it was very uncomfortable to run on my midfoot. They kind of forced me to run on my heel. Normally I run 6-10 miles easy and like to do 1/2- 1 mile repeats training for 5km distance mostly. Is this subject video worthy ? :-)
@@wesbaynham1634 i don't think there are very many nikes with 12mm drops anymore. most of them are 10mm. some are 8. that seems to be a range that i like, especially at moderate and easy paces. but the faster i try go, the less i care about drop (i might look for something in the 4-6mm range)
As some who tried a lot of Nike's - could you give an overview on your size variations over the models you've tried? (I'm a US8.5 in Odyssey, ZoomFly FK, VaporFly FK and Free's, however my recent purchase of Turbo's and EpicReact (2019) they seem on the larger size (the Turbo especially) - so wonder how you deal with the variations in Nike sizing? Or are all your's the same size? Love the reviews thumbs up!
i run in a size 9 in everything. the Turbo (black version) seemed too small. The Turbo (gyakusou version) seemed almost big. The odyssey react seemed a bit small, although even with that i'm not sure i'd size up. everything else is snug in a good way, as i believe is intended for nike running.
Nice shots and commentary. I read another comment asking if you would choose the turbo or 36. You recommended the 36 if we don't have a daily trainer. What if you could get a turbo for 70 / $100 depending on if the sale is still going on? I could find 35s similarly priced but I've been reluctant because I don't like the colors/silhouette that much even though I should ultimately view the shoe as a tool. It's probably gonna get trashed and can't double for casual wear anyways lol. Is that sad? Even with sales of $40-50 the 36 is the most appealing and I'm starting to view the price difference as motivation to run it into the ground and get my money's worth. I'd appreciate opinions. Sorry for the essay ha!
I think at that point it becomes a matter of personal preference and how much one values price per performance. The shoes have different uses. I prefer the Turbo for short and fast. But I've also run in them for 20 mile runs. And many run their marathons in them.
@@kofuzi Makes sense as it's more of a race shoe. As a new runner I won't be doing anything crazy. I guess I'd be more on the short/faster side of running starting out with low mileage. Comes down to preference of appearance so probably the 36 if that single pair at my nike is gone. Been there for weeks though ha. Thanks for the swift reply.
Less prominent air pocket, you say!? Thanks for the video!! I'm on the list for the Next%. Do you have any idea when the Next% or the Peg Turbo will be largely available to the general public?
I literally just tried these on at the store about 2 hours ago...my usual Size 10 was too big. I have the Pegs 31 and 33 and both fit me perfectly in size 10. I didn't buy a pair but the 35 Pegs Size 10 also fitted. The new 36 I need to go down half a size- buyer beware. Nice looking shoe.
@@wildforthecats661 Hi Evan- I own and have run many miles in the 31's and 33's. The 35's I only tried on very briefly at the store so you could be very right, the 35's may run smaller. My initial impression was my normal size 10 in Pegs 35 was ok but I did was not wearing my usual thick, cushioned Nike running socks when I tried them on in store which may or may not have resulted in me having to go up 1/2 size.
Hi Michael. Quick question, I'm just about to buy a pair of these. Would your advice be to buy a size that is just right, i.e. comfortable but fitted, or ones with a little more room in the toe box, about a thumbnail from toe to end of shoe? I don't like to have any sense of pressure on my toes. I have this problem with every pair of running shoes that I buy, most people advising that I should buy a size up as feet swell as they get hotter. Thoughts? Bit of a dull question I know - sorry. Love the channel mate.
no worries about the question. it's a great question to ask. if you've had prior experiences where things feel too snug, then i'd try going up a size. keep in mind however, that Nike tend to run a bit snug. that's different than being small. think of it like jeans that are loost fit versus slim fit. you can have to pairs of pants that are the "correct" size but you may have a strong preference for one versus the other because of the fit. but the main thing i would recommend is going to a running store to have them fit you for a shoe. and ideally, if you could try them on and hop on a treadmill, that would be even better. what a shoe feels like when walking around can be a different thing than what it feels like at its intended purpose.
@@kofuzi Thank-you buddy, great advice. I'm definitely going half a size up, which will be a 9.5. Bizarrely I'm a 10 in the Adidas Pulseboost HD Winter that I also discovered via your channel. Guess every shoe is different. Keep up the great work and I wish you nothing but success and good times for you and your family. Cheers - Lee
You don't want the Nimbus for the marathon? My current favorite Asics are the dynaflyte series, but I'm not that familiar with the Nimbus, so I'm not sure if that is a good match for you.
Kofuzi: I hope you enjoy my neck of the woods I'm going to be running the same race but in August. Also what shoes are going to be using? If I'm not mistaken there going to be gravel so not sure I want to use my Hoke one one carbon X for that race. Thanks, good luck.
I just got the 35 and have not ran in them yet and I hate the tongue so much I'm just going to buy the 36 because of the tongue on the 35 . BTW great work .
How do you train and gear up differently for different race lengths, such as 5k, 10k, 13.1 mi, and 26.2mi? What shoes would you recommend for each distance?
I could not find anywhere the weight of the P36 . Do you know if this shoe is noticeable lighter then the P35 or it is about the same weight ? I liked the wt if the Pegasus 35 but after using the Turbo ... anyways the normal Pegasus is way more stable running shoe that is what I prefer. Great video !
It’s funny these are called the Pegasus 36 because I was just gifted these for my 36th birthday in ocean blue. I’ve been wanting them for about six months but haven’t been able to afford them.
I dont use the pegasus for running but I like them because I have a wide flat foot have to wear a size 4 E. Owned 31 to 34 also the fly ease 34 version. Today dicks had 20% off so I ended up getting the 36. Compared to like the vomero not as blockish in the front . Pegasus always been ready to go for me even 10 hours on my feet and no fatigue or soreness. Seems like they cut the heal higher which makes it feel more of like gloved effect or more wrapped with the higher material. It seems like they left any kind of material as far as stuffing in like the tongue. My 34 actually had a 3 inch long foam missing from the inside heel part tho. I can still wear the shoes as if it was there. Called Oregon and they replaced the shoes with free overnight shipping because Nike has a 2 year warranty. Only thing I would say is the 34 they switched over flat lace which mine are all frayed. Only time will tell if these will do the same. And even tho the 36 are 4e wide the shoe seems like it little on the narrow side compared to past generations. Will nice informative review. I use to live in burbs of Chicago in the 90s and it was hell expensive back then dont even wanna think about the efficiency costing 1200 month cost now.
For some weird reason the Pegasus 35’s caused my to have major ankle and knee pain. Hoping the 36’s fit a little better. I really want to like this shoe!
I know Jami hinted at some big changes to the Peg 37, do you have any knowledge or insite to any of that? just curious about that and when the PEg Turbo 2 could be released, mid/late July?
i don't know anything about 37. i can only guess that turbo 2 will be released about the same time as last year (but i think it would make more sense to space out the summer releases like pegasus in june, zoom fly in july, turbo in august, and vaporfly in sept). but no one asks me.
I find the fit of the size 13's are longer on the 36 than the 35. The epic reacts phantoms this year matches the fit of the 35. If there is that much of an overlap and you like the fit of the 35 then go with the react
Looking at grabbing a pair of these, how would they be for someone with very slight supination? as my current shoes have been causing issues with my IT band
I'm currenlty using a Pegasus 34. Is it advisable to run one pair of shoes in 2 consecutive days? Or should I already use another? My concern here, are running shoes also took time to get back its form after a long run?
opinions vary. and it depends on how much running you're doing. and personally, i will switch shoes because the purpose/pace of the run requires something different from day to day
Thanks man. And you can sign up on nike.com to be notified of the restock for the vaporfly zoom next running shoes, in case you want to double up on them
Sorry one follow up question. I already own vomero 14 and zoom fly flyknit. Am training for a full marathon in August-end on a slightly elevated route. Which ones among these 2 and peg 36 would you prefer for training and race day for full?
Things have gotten a bit off schedule, so I'm filming during the daytime instead of my usual 4 or 5 am. But I've been running in tights for a while. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PRrupYREuEE.html
I tried this shoe to compare to my 35- it strangely feels like the sole is thinner or flatter...almost less padded. But i think the drop and dimensions are the same. I also felt like the heel cup was marginally lower, secure still but lower.
I was planning on getting the 35’s since there is a deal for them around $99 instead of $120, but these just dropped and they’re $120. Is it worth just spending the extra $30 for these?
If you have neither or don't have a daily trainer in your rotation, I'd get the peg 36 first. If you already have a good daily trainer, such as a 35 with some miles left on them or a Beacon, then I'd get the Turbo.
Running warehouse reports an arch Height of Medium to Low for the peg36 but the "bottom" of this shoe should be like the peg35 wich had an arch Height of Medium to high....can you confirm/deny this arch description?
one of my arches is apparently taller than the other. but arch feel was pretty similar. i can't say that any of the pegasus have been very different in that regard.
How do you run near the faces at Millenium? I was telling my kids not to run and then I tried to show them I could slide and busted my shit super hard. Way slippery over there lol
my schedule has been a bit hectic, and i don't particularly like saturday running shoe release dates. so this was shot mid day, rather than my usual 4 or 5am.
How's the Pegasus 36 (or the Pegasus in general) compared to the Zoom Fly FK? I want to have a higher cadence than what I am doing now. Does either shoe help?
I don't think of it in terms of an upgrade or not. They overlap but are different. Like a car with a coupe version and a grand touring version. They each have strengths.
i think the idea is to avoid achilles rubbing. but then if they really wanted to do that, they would just make the Mo Farrah version the regular version. so i'm not entirely sure. i think it's largely aesthetic
I prefer Turbo for shorter faster, but I've also run 20 milers in them and many run marathons in them. I think of the Pegasus a a daily trainer, more suitable for a wider range of paces. To put it more vaguely but hopefully it still helps, I think the Turbo is snappier. But if you like Turbo, get more Turbo. But depending on how much you're running or how often you're running, you may want/need multiple shoes in your closet. New Turbo will be coming out as well, later this summer
@@kofuzi I've run a marathon in my Turbos. Admittedly it was my only one to date but they felt good and so did I. Sit tight and wait for the Turbos, I think I will be.
You will test the Pegasus 36 trail ? What do you think about this shoes ? It is interesting ? basic Pegasus 36 is good to run in Forest ? Thanks , soundtrack 👍🏼 From France
The 36 iterates off the 35, not the Turbo, which I've never understood why it was designated as a spin-off of the Pegasus. It's not very Pegasus-like, to me
hello kofuzi, from your opinion, is pegasus 35 suitable for 68 years old man for walking only? got 50% sale at my local shop and I want to buy shoe for my father. thanks for your help!
@@afifiromli5984 I can only really speak to the Peg 35 since I've run 200 miles in them. They were very narrow for me and and the upper was really tight. I imagine if your father is like mine, at that age their feet tend to swell a bit easier so that extra room is essential. In the end though, everyone's feet is different so maybe buy'em and send them back if they're not right.
yes. my dad is a little bit older than yours. when we were at disney world for his 70th birthday, he showed up in a pair of peg 35. he said, "i watched your review"
Anyone knows where to get them in Europe with number US16/UK15? I found them in the USA, so the number exist, but not buying them there because of big shipping and customs taxes
