Quintis Morris, maybe that was some pet flying foxes ( of suborder Megachiroptera ), that escape from it's master. They may grow up to 1,7 m in a wingspan.

Can someone help me out I live in Nz and 3 times I have seen a big bat, like im talking the size of a seagull or bigger, all times I had seen them it was broad daylight im talking about one big bat
