Love the cup holder and completely agree I will never use scupper holes for anything, except maybe a cup holder like that lol 😆

I have to confess...when I first saw your drink holder I thought "This man is a genius!! He made a scupper hole urinal!" haha. Sweet rig dude!

I just got one of these, marked down $100 from the $749 they were for a long time. Videos like these will help a lot, Thanks.

You are so SMART!!! I'm a crafty girly girl and know nothing about fishing boats, but you are so interesting to watch and you have the best ideas!!! Can't wait to see the boat out in the water! God bless!

Thanks for sharing your mods. I have the same kayak and have done several mods myself. One thing to do is make sure everything on it is tethered or secured. I actually rolled my kayak today and luckily did not lose a single thing! FYI, I rolled it pulling my stuck anchor up and pulling too hard, when it released, my momentum carried me right over. :)

Marty Zoffinger would be proud. I want to see this yak perform with the trolling motor in it.

Man, I like that mount you made, that's a good idea. My first mount was rigid and I had to physically remove the trolling motor when I came into shore since it was PVC in the rod holder. If I didn't and it hit, it bent my metal clamps and weakened them to the point that the motor would vibrate. So I am redoing the mount and mounting the motor on a transom where I can raise and lower it as intended. Sorry to flood you with comments, but I've been working on the new mount for a while so it's cool to see others working on one as well. Good job on yours.

ty for making that video. I got the catch 120 and a trolling motor, your way of mounting it seem way better than mine. The plastic flex to much the way i did hope you put the final result

You must have customized other boats before. You seem to know just what changes and adaptations need to be made... So many smart ideas!!!! I can't wait to see you on the water. Thanks!!!! PS... Just a little reminder, Keep track of how much weight your adding to it... Thanks!!!

LOL! Many years ago, I helped my Uncle build a little cabin on his flat pontoon. It was a nice little one. Framed with 1x4s, skinned with thin metal, 2 full sized, single, beds with storage underneath them, a little propane stove vanity of sorts, tiny bathroom... I guess you know where I'm headed with this story....LOL!!! Luckily it only sat very low in the water, not too low in the water. Thanks!!!!!!

You've got a great set up on that rig. Only a RU-vidr would think about multiple camera mounts. :)

So I love this video. Have the same kayak and wondered if you could somehow explain how you did the mod on the troll motor control. I love what you’ve done and would like to duplicate it. What specific trolling motor did you use? Appreciate any feedback you can provide.

Great video, thanks for the info on the Pelican 120. Great mods! I'm not sure I'd be ready to call that Amazon seller a 'liar' because the actual cut opening on that plastuc part of the hatch does look to be 4" if you look at it. Maybe they worded it wrong? It looks like the insert is what causes it to be closer to 3". Just my opinion but I kinda feel like the word "liar" may be a little strong here.

Hey sir! Sweet mods! Just wanted to know, how exactly did you make the cup holder? Pvc? I have the same yak and want to do the same cup holder. It seems super simple and practical
@baldwincreative871

I am thinking I will add a rudder in the back to assist in steering since my trolling motor will be off on the side. I have used the trolling motor in the past and used a paddle to steer, you can steer it pretty easy with the paddle, but I want to focus more on fishing than messing with the paddle.

Hello, will the raised Scotty base mount fit to screw into the top sides of the kayak (infront of the top paddle holder groove)? IE. is the width of the top side larger than the width of the raised Scotty basemount?

I am heading to Louisiana this winter. It may have to stay on the bank. I do not like water that has stuff in it that can eat you.

***** Lol! I had a green 16 foot canoe I gave away for that very reason. March and April are not good months to be on the water looking like another alligator :)

Lots of good ideas. I have a Catch120 to and I'm in the process of adding a trolling motor in via the rodholders in the back. I will post a video once completed. Please subscribe so you can see it should be out this week.

If you notice the Go Pro in my hand is close to me. I have two camera running at the same time and I synced the videos together. You will probably notice when I set the one in my hand down on the seat the sound changes.

I can't find your second part to this catch 120 modifications. I'm about to buy one and searching before mod tips. How did the trolling motor work out?
@ArkansasPrepper
@ArkansasPrepper 6 лет назад
I did not get to film it but the thing was fast. I did mount it in a strait line and used my paddle to steer the boat for only long distance travel and paddled into my fishing area.

How big and heavy is your battery?
@ArkansasPrepper
@ArkansasPrepper 5 лет назад
It is a normal deep cycle battery I took off my RV. I do not know the weight (40lbs?). I use a homemade dolly to launch and never carry it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-enCBVC3MfKU.html I am 250lbs, plus battery, trolling motor and gear, it is under the 400lbs weight capacity for the Kayak.
