Pelican Vault V800 - Used As Archery Case

I picked up a Pelican Vault V800 case to use for my archery gear. It is a double rifle case but can fit many different bows and other gear. In this case I will be putting a Mathews Triax along with accessories. I show the steps I took to choose a layout and cut the foam as needed to fit the items!

Man, your cutting looks nicer than mines haha i shouldve done two pieces of foam. I did one and a half and can definitely feel it "budging" when closed but i can live with it. Thanks for the video.

Bought the 800 for my phase 4 29 recently. I like to put all my bow stuff in the same case. Range finder, bow, allen key sets, stabilizer, engage limbs, release and whatever else i think i may need. Took my bow with me and saw the v730 barely had room for the limbs and rear stab. With the bow centered.

For the arrows, you can probably just cut a line for the shaft and a box for the fletching instead of cut the shape of the arrow. Just a thought.

II just bought one of these and in mine there are two thick layers on bottom and one thick/one thin on the top. How many layers did yours have and how did you arrange them? I’m going off memory here so maybe the later count is off… Thanks for the video though, good to see some archers finding the better diy deals!

Mine had the same three layers! I put the thin layer on the bottom and had to cut the two thicker ones to get the bow to sit down in the case with full coverage.

I’m about to do this- I got the v730. I would’ve totally gotten the Pelican bow case but they are sold out. I need something now because I couldn’t find a case (soft or hard) that had the dimensions I needed! Since you posted this vid, are you still good with this? Do you think a pick and pluck would work?

How many arrows do you store under your bow and does that seem to work? Just getting into archery and didn't know where i should put the extra arrows that don't fit in the quiver.

I have 4 arrows in my quiver, then I’ve kept up to 6 arrows under the bow no problem.

Hey mate, nice review, was there any reason you chose this Pellican Vault case over the dedicated Pelican 1745 Air bow case?

I went with this just because I was able to get a really really good deal on it through a Pelican rep. Could have used it for gun or bow, already have a few good rifle cases and needed a bow case upgrade so used it for that! Nice thing is if I change my mind in the future I’ll just get new foam!

@@millertime2612 yeah that’s great I was just curious if you had seen any flaws with the pelican 1745 air bow case that made you choose the vault instead, people are different and have varying needs so it’s good to hear different experiences and perspectives on equipment. Versatility of a case is a good purchase motive, Thanks for your time.
