Pellet Accuracy Testing using the HW77k

You're not wrong mate, it's strange my PCPs shoot JSBs and Hades superbly but none of my springers like them. I must admit of being a bit cheesed of with JSBs lately, quality control seems hit and miss with lots of damaged pellets in the tin. However it could just be me being unlucky and picked up a bad batch. 👍👍👍

Hades are always less accurate in HW's because they are only available in 4,5mm. head size. Would the Hades be available in 4,52mm. than they would be more accurate. HW's like bigger head size pellets and the JSB 4,52 are great in my HW's too. Cheers!

I find Hades pellets suite all my Weirauch rifles, it just shows how each individual rifle varies, by the way they are all springers.

I'll do a coin flip today and see what rifle gets tested, might be able to more as unbelievably the sun's shining and not much wind. 👍👍👍

Nice one buddy. My TX loves AirArms Diablo, PCP size groups with those out to 50 metres, however there's no chance I'm taking it out to the farm until the weather improves drastically 👍👍👍

Nice buddy, it's amazing how no two rifles will shoot the same ammunition exactly the same as each other. I suppose the only thing to be taken from my testing is the need for the rifle owners to test as many pellets as possible to find the ones that suit their guns 😉 thanks for the comment buddy 👍👍👍

Hi buddy, there's probably more than a grain of truth there, the QYS and Superdomes are both quite snug fitting. Strangely though the JSBs were 4.52 and the 77 didn't like them one bit. An eye opener for me was the RWS R10 Match wadcutters, tiny vertical spread and very little horizontal dispersion. I want to do this test again with the 5 best performing pellets and put a camera down range and maybe do 10 round groups. 👍👍👍

@tenglish8489 I,m surprised Vince. I have to say that i buy pellets in buk, so 10 tins at once with same batch number but the last 10 tins 4.52mm. i bought just dropped in the barrel by it self and the results where terrible. I ordered 10 more tins and they where good again. JSB maybe messed up some head sizes but the ones that where shooting bad in my HW do well in my FWB so i,ve use for them. Hades are just available in 4,5 and i think that explaines the bad groups. I have R10 wadcutters too and i will try them in my HW. Flat heads are designed for short distance match rifles. I never had good results on 25 meters with flat heads but maybe the R10 are doing well on 25 meters.....

Hmm my springers hate them for sure. However with my PCPs its a different story. They seem to shoot exceptionally well in Walther barrels, I have 4 Rotex RM8s and Hades will punch ragged one hole groups at 50 metres. In my springers they produce mini shotgun pattern type groups... 😉👍👍👍

Think there may be some truth there Keith, but there's always an exception to the rule. My old HW77 used to love Eley Wasps, the old proper made in England 5.6mm ones. They were a super tight fit loading them but my goodness they shot well 👍👍👍 sadly the days of Eley Wasps are long gone 😞
