A Pelonis braneed, Midea manufactured, fan forced 1500 watt heater model HB-211T. I had one of these many years ago at the previous house and I used to use it in my shop. Despite being a total fireball waiting to happen, I always liked the way it performed. It eventually failed, then this one showed up for cheap a few years ago so I got it. It works about the same as I remember the other one working, although I don't recall it having a thermostat.

I have one very similar, but it's older and has a different model number. Had a video of it years ago. Otherwise, it looks and works exactly the same. Mine does not have a tipover switch, so it's a complete fireball waiting to happen. Like you, I never leave a heater running unattended, not even a metal one. Not even for a second. I switch it off if I leave the room and turn it back on when I get back in there. There's no sense taking chances.

This one does not have a tipover switch either, so you're relying completely on that thermal cutoff to work and work in time. No thanks.

@@jaybrown2348You should fear electric cars catching on fire. Water will not put it out, you have toi wait for it to burn itself out.

Thanks for the well detailed video. I'm surprised this was like 2 years ago is this page still active? And FYI I just bought 2 of these exact heaters as my window unit just failed and still a few nights in the 50's left here. I won't be able to open until after work

I just bought one just like this one anout a week ago. It was a used one. I like it , it warms things up nicely. I like the 3 different heat settings; one can save some money in the electricity bill by using the low setting. The low seetting is usually enough here in Mexico. One little compkaint though: the fan, or what i think is the fan, rattles a bit mosr of the time. Any one knows how to fix that by any chance?
@JordanU
@JordanU 7 месяцев назад
The rattle is from worn bearings. You can try oiling it, but it likely won't last. These are very cheaply made.

@@JordanU Thanks for the tip. But I already bought a new (to me) one. It's a used Givebest ceramic heater. I guess ceramic heaters are the new thing. So far this other heater is working pretty good. The fan is quieter too and doesn't rattle at all. I hate to say it, but I think I like ceramic heaters better than the classic, nostalgic wire coil ones.

I had a Mainstays dual function heater and when I use it in my closet it started to make a burning smell when and I have to take apart the heater and I use dust blower to clean blade and heating element and it was working fine

OK

When the heating coils/fan have lots of lint and dust (like when it isn't used for a long time), all coil and ceramic heaters do that at first until the lint and dust is burned.

Even though it's junk at least the fan itself has a super long spin down time i enjoyed the video
