A timelapse video of a few months of my life while I was drawing "Handle". Unfortunately all the prints of this artwork have sold. For some of my other prints check out www.etsy.com/shop/JonoDry

The planning process is by far the most difficult part of creating a new work. There is so much uncertainty and fear of commitment that comes into play. You are dedicating yourself to a project that will take months to complete. With that in mind it's easy to get lost in your thoughts, you want it to be perfect, and intellectual and beautiful. Eventually you kind of stop thinking and just start working through intuition. After a long time of agonizing uncertainty, when I let go things just seemed to fall into place and this composition came to life. I don't really know what it means to me fully. I'm still kind of processing it. I'm just really happy that it exists. Let me know what you think.
Special thanks to Daniel Breiter for working on the music for this video. Check out more of his work at the link below.

I recommend to them that they watch and appreciate the patience you give to every detail, and to understand the extreme values you apply. With instant gratification in most everything they do (damned computers) they are not used to the idea that one can work weeks and months on a single illustration or artwork. Cheers, Jono.

@@mickygala3557 of course not, but it is one of the best methods, especially if your goal is to attain "artistic eye", ability to lay down exact proportions just with looking on reference, without using grid or any other help. Basically, it takes shortest time, while some other methods are less efficient (using them will eventually take you on that level, but it will take more time). Using grid or something like that is not a sin, remember that.

How coincidental is it that this video is recommended right when a pregnant elephant was fed pineapple stuffed with fire crackers in it which caused the poor animal to die so tragically in India day before yesterday?! Elephants are so precious man. Let's do our best to protect them Edit: Apparently, the pineapple was a snare for wild boars and not something deliberately fed to the elephant. Nonetheless it still took the lives of 2 innocent beings.

@@k8lynmae that's true. But in this context, It was vermin. It needs to be culled due to the uncontrolled growth in numbers and wide spread damage of small farms owned by poor farmers.
