Dean Booker shares some thoughts on his recently purchased Penn Fathom Casting Special reels. Are they better than the now discontinued Daiwa Saltist BG 30's? Watch now to find out.
un detalle a tenere en cuenta con el Penn Fathom II 12/15 SD es que no podrá utilizarlo en una caña con portacarrete a cremallera ya que el diseño del reel impide ajustar y cerrar la palanca de la cremallera. a detail to have in mind with the Penn Fathom II 12/15 SD is that you will not be able to use it in a rod with a rack reel because the design of the reel prevents adjusting and closing the lever of the zipper.
Good video. I rank my reels as follows for beach casting (best to least): Akios 757, Fathom II 15, Squall 15 (ABEC 7 ceramic bearings), Seagate 30H, Fathom 15, Seagate 50H, Fathom 25N, Fathom 30, and Fathom 40. The centrifuge brakes in the 30 and 40 size Fathom reels are ineffective, whereas the Seagate centrifuge brakes are much better. The magnetic brakes in the Penn and Akios make it easy to adjust for changes in payloads and wind conditions.
All daiwa reels are made in China there a Japanese company same as penn its American company they have there reeks made in China sll got to do with cost
