The sheer cost of education across the world is ridiculous. Just look at how many folk leave University/College with massive debts. It is quite literally built for the kids of rich parents. Yeah, this kids may be brilliant, stunningly good students, but the same is true for the kid who's family life savings pay for the education and they end up leaving in debt but with just as brilliant, stunning abilities.

Forcing students to buy new books for the courses is one of the biggest scams pulled on the public. Almost all of these books are available used online at 1/5ths or, (sometimes better)the price, but they keep making “new editions” so you feel you have to buy the updated one, but they’re pretty much exactly the same. Don’t feel bad about buying used! It’s Your right and necessary for a lot of students.

Im a bit confuse becuz im not entirely sure how this thing work. But isnt college fee cause like 20 000$ or more per semester. If u have that much money to pay, 40-60$ is just a fraction of ur fee no? .-. Why is it a problem when u are thousand of dollar rich. (Like i said, i dont know these thing, dont hate me)
@assmane999

@@prumchhangsreng979 well, a lot of people need to apply for student loans to pay tuition. Many college students are not rich at all and struggle to pay back student loans, and outrageous book costs just compound this problem

4:21 - I immediately knew the book was home made. You see, there's this thing called grain direction in paper... it is a given that in your average printing paper the cellulose strains are going one way in a sheet, and in which direction they go they make the paper much stiffer, then in the perpendicular direction. Book makers know this and don't print in a way that the grain direction will cause the book to always try and close itself because the pages are too stubborn. According to this rule, the very first tear should have been at a crazy angle, and the second should have been nice and perpendicular to the page's side.

Absolutely amazing presence and great delivery of a classic prediction trick! It's also fun to notice how much louder you speak compared to other magicians on the show, which can easily be explained by your street experience. When I moved from a crowded urban center to the countryside, people noticed how loud I was whenever I presented something. So I noticed I didn't have to be as loud in such a quiet environment, but took me more than a year to adjust. And since then I kept the ability to draw people's attention, which was a survival tool in the big city.

I had a teacher doing the textbook scam too, except it was much worse. It was $60, and on the topic of “health.” It was the most rudimentary information I’d ever seen on a university campus. “What is a calorie? What is exercise?” And it was a required class and textbook for every single student at my university of 26,000+ students. Over 6,000 students spent $60 on what was essentially a pamphlet with elementary school level information. Oh, and it was digital. Basically a PowerPoint.

Great magic, guy. Ya fooled me! The most expensive textbook I ever bought was for virology $75 in graduate school in 1975. It was for a course by the same name and written by the prof who taught the course! One of us figured out that we could buy one copy and then photocopy each page (@5 cents/)… Nobody tried that and we never had any need to open the book. I think this has been a trick played by profs since Aristotle.

When he said “they forced you to buy it.” Also I’m gonna say that on the slit of papers she had I’m assuming there was somthing like 95% maybe even more that the “not boring word” picked would be brainstormed. You forced that word on her bc all the other words were small and “boring” that’s my guess and my take on it. I think the book was fake. I would guess that every page was the same (words could have been moved around), and written in a way that there is only 1 'interesting' word. It was a good trick, and not sure how it can 100% accurate considering the size of the piece that was left. Maybe Brainstorm is on every paragraph.
@SgtJoeSmith
@SgtJoeSmith 2 года назад
@@markburke1396 yes this is what I was thinking. Every page is same. Fake book. Every paragraph same and brainstormed is probably the biggest word and in each sentence so it stands out the most. Penn said forced. So means he forced her choice. Or influenced it. Or she didn't have much to choose from. But I still think great act and super cool guy performing.
@DL-kc8fc
@DL-kc8fc 2 года назад
@@SgtJoeSmith That is why a story had to be told that would justify the destruction of the book, which is well suited to the theme of college, which I would venture to doubt, but well. It must also be ensured that no one requests an inspection of a torn book. Therefore, it was necessary (even the last smallest piece) to be thrown into the fire. If you want to replicate this trick, use a shredder. Indeed, the word Brainstorming must be included in each sentence. This word must have some "area" density in the text, for example one occurrence on an area of 5x5cm. In order for the word to appear in some context, the text could be compiled into 3 sheets (6 pages). The other sheets are copies of these sheets, which saves a lot on the compilation of this prop. It is good to try it on one sheet, on which, after tearing to some size, at least once an interesting long word will remain in context. Then you can have this prop made in a book printer. When you see the corpus delicti disappearing in the fire, everyone should know where the center of gravity of the trick is. Of course, Penn knew that, too. Penn's speech was cut off, of course, because everyone would decipher it. Trimming key elements of the trick is also common, or a distant view or editing of the spectators is provided, but in this case nothing like this has happened exceptionally. The trick is very good.
