Penny Marshall’s films are classics. Miss this woman.

You know she truly faced her demons when she wrote that book ! I was so happy she did finally released those truths! It's difficult to such things, but she decided it was best to keep the respect she rightfully earned as an entertainer, director & producer! I never lost respect for her, but I was always concerned about her overall health & well being. I hope she found peace with that and other things she did before she passed away. She knew it was coming and faced it with bravery. She left us with more truthful facts, not a mysterious past! RIP lovely soul! Thanks for your humor that produced so many laughs and smiles! You made the world a much happier place while you were here! God Bless You!

Penny Marshall was all that and more, an extraordinary person of immeasurable contribution. I was five years old when Laverne & Shirley first aired and she was my hero, still is.

Although I never watched her tv show with Cindy Williams I have seen several of the movies she directed. She did a fine job with "Awakenings" a movie in which she worked with Robert DeNiro and Robin Williams. Just finished her book and liked it.

She was one a kind of person; the likes you will never see again! The reason why people like Penny Marshell or Lucile Ball were as good as they were was due to of how they did their physical comedy, but also their facial comedy. I'm using the words facial comedy here for the singular reason that they could be animated. And when I say animated; I do mean as in cartoons. In a cartoon; the characters on the screen can make the wildest looks and faces, which helps to bring out the comedy of any scene. When you watch Lucy and Ethel or Laverne and Shirley; they face bring just as much laughter as their physical comedy does. Not everyone can do really good facial comedy and make it look real. Someone like Jim Carey does his facial comedy to the point of cartoon-like; creating an area of disbelief. You see him and you think; no one looks like that or would do that. Whereas with Marshall and Williams; you believed in the moments, and the faces they made could make you laugh as no one could! Penny Marshall was beautiful in her own way, and she was always my favorite character from that show. As a Director; she was unstoppable. Her comedic timing was perfect for the director's chair. Knowing how to build a scene to its funniest possibility. But she also knew how to bring out the emotion out of a scene as well. We always say this when we lose an amazing talent like Penny Marshall, but this is one of those truly rare moments when it couldn't be truer. There was only one Penny Marshall, and there will never be another like her! Rest in Peace; you earned it!

I didn't know she (Penny Marshall) director the Big and Jumping Jack flash. She will be missed. 😢 RIP.
