Y'all are comparing her to Sheldon. Sheldon is largely unaware that he does this kind of thing. Beverly knows EXACTLY what she's doing and she does it on purpose. They are not the same.

That is the perfect sit-com scene.

You meet people like this from time to time and it's always a nice gesture to ask them how they feel about self analysis. They always understand the question without assistance and can appreciate the opportunity to stop working for 5 minutes of their lives because, of course, they also understand their own answers.

Always one of the most unlikeable characters in the show. A good match to Sheldon's mother who (despite her overbearing religious streak) was so likeable. The fact that they were both written to have a side of their character with, erm, easy virtue, is (adopts Beverley's voice, lower glasses)... interesting

I always wondered why they didn't use reverse psychology on Lenny's mom. Or attack her own weaknesses, For some reason she had a strange curiosity for Lenny private parts

I know her character is exaggerated for comedic effects but I just can't imagine this person existing in society. Just one conversation shows how rude and uncaring she is. In our society you need other people to function. Even if you are like her you would need to pretend to be caring just to fit in. Even if you are brilliant no way she can get people to assist her to succeed or even not have people sabotage her to spite her. Sheldon is the same but at least he has friends and a enabling Leonard to support him. Beverly make have her own supporter or enablers to be so successful.
