@@vildebrendas-hansen4559 this episode was long before Young Sheldon even started so yes this was the first time anyone following the show at that time heard his nickname
All the three women, in fact - Penny, Amy and Bernadette had their moments of putting Sheldon into place. The guys were never really patient and they were simply putting up with him.
@@Channel_Math_and_Physics The guys were impatient when Sheldon becomes inflexible. He wants everything to stay the same way and go his way, and life in general is not like that. He goes to the supermarket he complains about something. He goes to the drugstore he complains, He goes to the computer store and tries to take over and run the store. He is a big man, not a child. There is so much his room mates can deal with.
"Hey Leonard, what's going on with Dr. Wackadoodle?!!" lollllllllll "He is calling to ask you a favor. You might be confused because he didn't use the words Penny, Sheldon, Please, or FAVOR" - Leonard is the silent scene stealer here....Johnny is a highly under-rated actor!
@@RejoiceUruakpa and your the one to judge me? Someone who I don't know why should I care what you think so go and fuck yourself I could not careless about your comment it doesn't mean anything if I want to make an opinion then I will just fuck off and leave me be
I love how Leonard takes the phone from Sheldon to jab an insult at how he's not being nice to Penny at 0:59-1:14 and then he takes the phone again to do the exact opposite and get onto Penny for not being nice to Sheldon at 2:37-3:07.
The more I see of Young Sheldon the more I realize why he and Penny have such a strong bond: Missy. She is very much like his sister. Whether that was intentional writing or they retconned Missy to fit that better is immaterial now. She acts like his sister so much that their relationship became like siblings.
that's an interesting observation. the character of young sheldon though, as presented in that show, would not have turned into the character of sheldon in big bang. easier to look at them as 2 different things
I don’t know why, but I love how Sheldon’s country accent came out when he got annoyed and said to Penny, “No one calls me Moon Pie but Mee Maw.” It was soooo funny. Then his expression afterward as he handed the phone to Leonard was really AMUSING! I cannot help but replay it while laughing hysterically.
😂😂 I love how Sheldon started the phone call bossing around Penny without even a please, through out the phone she wore him down until at the end he was begging her to cooperate.
No, he was there but they were all taking turns(nix Sheldon) at flirting with Summer Glau who played River Tam on Firefly. Raj was talking to her when Sheldon had that particular mental break.
Well actually, the letters are from his Meemaw (grandma, nanna, nonna, whatever tf ya wanna call it, but he calls her meemaw) and he kept them all bc essentially she's his favourite person. She calls him Moonpie bc he's nummy nummy she could just eat him up.
@@stavanparikh5093 Raj was on the train with Leonard, Sheldon, And Howard. Leonard and Raj were sitting with Sheldon whilst Howard was tryna get wit Summer Glau, Raj already had a try because he thought he was drunk, turns out he was drinking non alcoholic beverages. 😂
"What up, Moon Pie?" That line cracks me up every single time. Jim Parsons almost loses it at the 3:45 mark after Penny crushes the box. When these actors clicked, they clicked, and what was remarkable was that they did it show after show. Even after their characters were rewritten or modified, they still acted them convincingly.
"I need you to marshall your powers of concentration, limited as they may be-" "Give me the phone" 😅 "Oh look! She calls you Moonpie! That is so cute!" "PUT DOWN THE LETTERS!"🤣
It's interesting that sheldon has a smart phone and penny has a flip phone. It kind of makes sense that sheldon would be up to date with the latest technology at the time, but you'd also think penny would as well just because of the social aspect. but also maybe she couldn't afford it :-P
3:33 I really enjoy Penny's solution here. In many other shows a character might just carelessly break an object only for it be revealed later that it's extremely valuable. Penny asking first kind of subverted that trope. More importantly it was great thinking on Penny's part. She properly understood the situation and what was at stake and made the most sensible and informed decision. Obviously that's a stark contrast to Sheldon and the other guys, but it's rare to see such pragmatism in sitcoms in general. It's something Dr House might do but with 100 times more caring.
@renameagain5808 yeah but it's a very important moment in the scene. Otherwise they wouldn't have shown it LOL the fact that she asked him if it mattered to him before breaking it means she cared enough to be discerning. That's an important trait to display
After working in I.T support for 2 decades, i can safely say i’ve had conversations that have gone a lot like this… The defeated tone when he says “the one that looks like a ducks mouth”… i could feel that in my soul.
"You Forgot Your Flash Drive" "You Forgot Your Flash Drive" "You Forgot Your Flash Drive" "You Forgot Your Flash Drive" "You Forgot Your Flash Drive" "You Forgot Your Flash Drive" "You Forgot Your Flash Drive" "You Forgot Your Flash Drive" "You Forgot Your Flash Drive" "You Forgot Your Flash Drive"
That moment where Penny smashes the box with her foot is one of my favourite Penny moments. After she hears Sheldon's overly complicated explanation she's like: yea, fuck that noise. I'm opening this sucker the best way I know how. *stomps on the box* That was a really clever joke, if you ask me.
I like how Penny asks about the box having emotional value before smashing it. She may push buttons and can seem inconsiderate, but points for Penny for putting value to someone else's momentos.
I love how Leonard just progressively plays mediator and then decides to start build stuff out of travel coffee mugs to pass the time. Part of me feels like that bit wasn't scripted
Is his meemaw around in the series? Cause if not which i don't think so he may have done like me (another aspie) did with my picture and box of my labrador being that its all i have left of him im super protective guardian over it i know other as people who are also
Actually.. I think she's a lot smarter than say Raj, or even Leonard. The only people on the show who I feel I smarter than her overall are Bernadette, Sheldon and Howard... In that order.
It's incredible how accurate the show "Young Sheldon" is. Everything seems to line up perfectly with The Big Bang Theory, with only very small inconsistencies.
Except for one huge discrepancy. In Big Bang Theory, we get the impression that George was pretty worthless. In Young Sheldon, George is a wonderful and loving father. And, as we found out a couple of weeks ago, George really didn't cheat on Mary.
What a hilarious and hellish train ride, easily one of the best TBBT episodes, but I can't believe it is more than a decade since this aired. 12 continuous years on television, incredible mark!
I think it's Penny and Sheldon together that makes it so good. Their relationship is so deep without being romantic and she knows he'll never go for her. It's adorable and hilarious
@@MsJubjubbird I think that they are off show decent people also. Leonard seems dumb in real life. They are also characters you could place in a Disney movie. That comes trough in the show.
Penny's line "It might be the only chance I ever get to play Anne Frank" still makes me laugh considering Kaley Cuoco played Bridget Hennessy in 8 Simple Rules and in one episode played the lead character Anne Frank in a high school play.
