Welcome back fellow riders,
Yesterday was a scorcher of an event. The 2nd round of the @nbdra923 was held in Penobsquis and the track was in an absolute pristine condition. With the heat, we had to find a way to manage our temperature. I had a pit crew that was pouring water down my back at every lap. I had lots of water with electrolytes with me as well as additional water an ice for after the race.
I felt great during this race. I was in the right headspace and I despite feeling a little slow, I know I did really good.
This class is definitely a challenge for me as there are a lot of really good racers. My goal was to achieve mid-pack and I am quite sure I have attained this. My secondary goal was to finish before a friend, which I thought I had managed until about midway through the final lap where he got me and I just couldn't keep up to him. (At that point, I felt too hot to push harder and kept with my heat management plan.) Well done @TeamStruggleBunny! I really thought I had you for a moment there!
Overall, it was a great race. My footage is limited to the first lap so I didn't do any edits. My GoPro was knocked out of position after the biggest set of tires and from there, I was mostly filming my gas tank. I apologize for that last little bit.
This is the first lap, unedited raw footage. I even remembered to turn on the GoPro at the start line!
I hope you enjoy!
