Born and raised in Penrith, lived here my whole 30 years of existing, it has been a awesome place to grow up never had a issue, seen it change so much, good food here, summers are hot and locals are always driving in the direction of sun some like to call us “squinters” The riff is home for ever
My daughter lives and works here my wife and I haven't been since 2015 we know Penrith and surrounding areas really well its a lovely place to visit---we really miss our wee lass and love her to bits all the best from Scotland, and yes it did bring a tear.
I love Penrith been living here 40years and raised our family never been issues or problems we live 7 mins from hosp and Westfield Plaza all the amenities are around us. Only now we are finding is gets busy with traffic and quite congested with highrise apartments around Penrith. Claremont Meadows is a lovely quiet area to live estate now it has Caddens plaza so really don't need to go driving in busy traffic and waiting in bumper after bumper trying to get to Penrith. We have nice restaurants and cafes and lovely Plaza to visit. Yes our summers are hot here. And it got lovely scenery surrounds Nepean river. Grown alot this area. Blue mountains straight up the M4 freeway to visit towns on your way up to Katoomba.
Thank you for this walking tour of Penrith! I lived there in an apartment very close to the original Penrith Panthers Leagues club in the very early 1980's and worked in StMarys where my family use to live, when I lived in StMarys with my family I worked at Flints shoes in Penrith on High st in 1976-1977, I was told it was now a gym and then I saw the building on your video, I was stunned to see Penrith railway station, what a transformation and wow those apartment buildings on the north side, lovely to get a glimpse of the Red Cow pub! Penrith has changed and grown in size but I guess that happens everywhere, I have not been there since the mid 1980's as I moved to Victoria in 1989 after moving with my family to the south coast of NSW in 1987 where I met my husband and now we are grandparents! wow! the years have flown by! by the way, I loved the original Penrith Panthers Leagues club!! practically lived there, lol.....they we're fun times in the very early 1980's!!
@@MoreLocations Thank you ! I wish you a lovely week-end as well! I'am going to enjoy your walking tour of StMarys!! I'll will play a game of "Do I remember This"! lol
@@gramck4329 Thank you! Hope you enjoy the St Marys walking tour and brings back a lot of great memories from there. Once again thanks for sharing your experience. 🙏😊
The amount of times I’ve been asked for smokes. One time I was out smoking, outside my office, and a guy asked me for one, I said no. I had earphones on, so I didn’t even bother to take them off, I know what they want when they approach. He then proceeded to bring his face not even an inch from mine, and shout at me. I walked off into the building and reported him to our security. He was a real nasty piece of work. He’s lucky that because of my position, I cannot retaliate with violence, because if I wasn’t in the position I’m in, I would’ve squared him in the face, and kicked him a few, would’ve made him wish he never asked me for a smoke. He made my blood boil.
Aww thanks for this video. My love is from Penrith and we are on a long distance relationship. Somehow I feel like im close to him by watching this 💖 soon we are gonna be together when borders will open again. 🙏
I love this channel so much. Thanks a million for making these videos. I also have a small request to make if its not too much of a bother. Can you please do a video walking around Hornsby and Asquith. I’ve been stuck overseas for over a year and I have been getting extremely homesick. I would love to see the area again. Thanks so much!🇦🇺💚💛
Hi Daud, thanks for loving this channel 🙏. I will walk around Hornsby & Asquith one day. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe & healthy. Have a great weekend 🙏😊
Out of curiosity, what part of the UK do you live? Penrith actually has a rather undesirable reputation - even though it compares well with other cities around Sydney. It would be interesting to compare it with overseas towns/cities.
It has its issues. There’s a few homeless people living out of trolleys and there are a few drug clinics in its suburbs. It’s pretty, but you really need to see the entirety.
Thank you very much for bringing back some great memories while i was back in Campsie be4.... I was looking for the channel like this. I am subcribing your channel to see all the great video you've got. Thanks man 👍
My sister's husband d ied this year. Thu used to live in Randwick then b plus mountains and now she lives in a retirement village in Penrith. She described it as ordinary and not that nice. I it looks nice enough.
Lived here most of my life was born here it's not like it used to be in can't wait to go bush soon and get away from the place. It's way to busy and NOT as friendly as it once was yes there are good and bad points.
Compared to 10 years ago it's crazy busy. Used to take 15mins to get from Glenmore Park to Cranebrook, now it'll take you 30-40. Penrith will rival Parramatta in the next few years.
This is the worse example of Australia 😂. May look all nice but I can tell you now it's not. Guessing today was payday from centerlink hence why is so silent 😂
That's a very outdated view of Penrith. Like most places, it is changing and no longer deserves its sour reputation. This video was recorded during covid, after Christmas on a weekday morning. Not sure what you are expecting.
