Yo Dave, thanks for sharing this. I don't really trust many production videos on RU-vid because usually people are just trying to sell you shit or present their FIRE NEW TRACK. Anyway thanks again and keep making the videos, would like to see more stuff with Logic X but I understand that for you Pro Tools just works the best. My main issue is not having some of the Pro Tools plugins. See ya!

Dave : I wondered what is approximately the average time it takes for you to mix a regular 30-40 channels song ? like a client as from you to mix his material , what is your first answer? come in a day or two or what ?
Dave, when you decreased the amount of DeEsser, how did you know that it wasn't right in the mix? shouldn't you have checked against the mix to see if the sibilant area of the backing track was clear? If the track was masking the lower frequencies of snoops voice wouldn't the sibilants pop through in the mix more, and need more attenuation? Just wondering what your rationale for getting the voice perfect in isolation first is, wouldn't you want to tweak it in the mix? The show is biblical!
your right it wont. regular eq's actually wok by messing with the phase. phase isnt necessarily a bad thing. if the track sounds better after the eq then theres nothing to worry about although it is something to watch out for. avoid harsh eq curves on the low end if possible. if trying to eq out low end on a multi mic source i.e top and bottom snare mics, buss the channels together and treat them as one.the eq will change the phase as its inherent in their design but both source willl get the same amount of phase shift so wont interfere with each other as a result of you high pass. you can get away with more the higher up the spectrum you go. im not a famous engineer or anything but i hope that helps. :)
Yes That's what I thought. I use Mautoalign from Meldaproduction to put everything back in phase OR as you said treat on a bus to avoid misalignment, I'm surprised it's not being mentioned here by Pensado. Like you said also, a little out of phase can actually sound better ears are the final judge again ! I think the reason why most don't talk about it is that they avoid it from the start ! It took me many years to actually find a tutorial talking about this in details.
