Gorilla and Shine are OT10 releases and Dawn left after Shine so then they become OT9. You probably also heard it on Boys Planet where people performed it in front of Hui. Do or Not has 8 members due to Jinho being enlisted and Feelin Like has 8 members due to Hui being enlisted (Jinho discharged). As you check out some of their MVs the numbers will be up and down like the OT10 era before Shine, then after that some songs are missing Yanan due to his hiatus then starting with Basquiat & Daisy in 2020 is when military enlistments start. It can be a tad confusing at first when watching MVs.

i personally think Jinho is THE best kpop vocalist, i'm not even joking. ofc a lot of groups have insane main vocals, but my guy does musicals and all his covers are PERFECTION (and i don't even stan Pentagon, so it's not a biased opinion at all) he can do low notes and crazy high notes. i watch videos of him performing on 'Immortal Songs' and 'Phantom Singer' all the time

Yay, RJ!!! Finally getting into Pentagon! 1. I know others have noted, but they originally had 10 members, then 9 when Dawn had to leave, and 8 due to someone always being gone for either military or health. It’s kinda rare when you get all 9 together. 2. Daisy, Basquiat, Dr. Bebe, Runaway, Sha la la, Violet *have* to make it the list. In fact, you could easily make this a 4-5 parter. We’ll watch. 👀❤ 3. Jinho, imo, is one of the greatest vocalists, and not just in kpop. I rank him up there with Brendon Urie as one of the bests. His range is insane and is so clean and polished, but with his own sound, so you know it’s Jinho. You should look into his multitude of covers Jinho Magazine Ho. 4. These guys are so underrated, it’s not even funny. The production, the vocals, the creativity… ugh. Too good.

I am ecstatic that you are discovering Pentagon. I've been a Universe since their debut. This is truly a group that has not received the accolades and recognition they should have. Pentagon have such great music! Hui, Wooseok, and Kino write and produce a lot of their music. While Hui’s the most well-known for it, all three contribute a lot to their music and have their own styles. And yes, rock is a genre they visit frequently and pull off really well! I agree with everyone recommending Spring Snow and Daisy! Spring Snow is a b-side but it has a dance practice which seems to have subtitles submitted by a fan. Dr. Bebe and Daisy usually seem to be hits with new fans I’d also suggest checking out the In:vite U mini album, which Feelin’ Like was on. Every b-side had a member involved in the writing or composition. General fan consensus is that all songs were on par or better than the title track. They performed a couple of the songs on the It’s Live Band series which are also great performances to check out (+bonus points for great vocals, rock/band arrangements, and girl group covers) Hui was the member on boys planet. The clip with MJ might have been because they were/are in a trot project group together called Super Five. Hui also was in a singer/songwriter competition called Breakers. He has a performance with Somin from Kard on Breakers, which is a fun watch! Thank you for looking into these boys! This seems to have been filmed before Cube started hemorrhaging artists, but please don’t let that stop you from exploring them! They put out a ton of music over the last 7 years, and I love seeing their work and talents appreciated 💙

I think Shine is one of the biggest songs of the last decade of k-pop and it's a testament to Cube's mismanagement that they didn't effectively capitalize on it

AAAHHHHH PENTAGON!!!! One of my absolute favorite groups ever! When I got the notification for this I screamed and almost cried! This group has one of my absolute favorite people ever in it KINO(yes he is my bias lol) he was the one in the blue in Shine you asked about and omg he has a solo song called Pose I just know you'd love) and I love him!!!! another hella underrated group. these are pretty much all my fave songs of theirs, just missing dr. bebe (my number one!) & daisy !! shine is a super popular song in the kpop world, pretty much everyone knows it or has at least heard it, and there are manyy covers. and the real tall member you mentioned is actually the maknae 😅

i would recommend all the following: daisy, shalala, dr bebe, critical beauty, runaway, naughty boy, hmph....my favorite is dr. bebe but they really do make great and fresh music their discography is great

They performed on the show Road To Kingdom and all of their performances were amazing, and the original song created for that show, Basquiat, was amazing and they created a MV

pentagon has two main vocals so the high notes you were hearing was a mix between jinho and hui! jinho is so skilled vocally that he's a vocal coach at cube (although idk anymore now with their contracts). hui is an amazing vocalist too and yes he was on boys planet. that's why a lot of contestants were shocked for someone with so much experience and who literally wrote the first produce 101 debut song to be on a similar show

As a long time universe, it makes me so happy to see people getting into pentagon. Actually, a lot has happpened to them, and it makes me sad that they didn't get the recognition they deserve yet, because they are such talented and kind people. Their contract with cube ended last month, and most of them parted ways with the company (thank god), but we, and them, believe that it is not the end. My favorite songs are: Daisy, Naughty boy, Can you feel it, Like This, and pretty pretty. They also have amazing b-sides, such as: Sparkling Night, 1+1, Spring Snow, BAD, Baby I love You, and Smile. I hope you take your time and listen to their beautiful discography.

*PERFECT GROUP EVER EXIST!* but is so underrated. There is no a single bad song from this group but they are badly manage by Cube. Composer, Lyricist, Actors, Vocal Coach, Body Builder, you name it they have it all. Their songs never dissapoint esp for bright songs. They got their first ever win with Daisy, you can check it out next. Also, their covers also 💯💥. Their harmonization, is chef kiss. You can just simply pick a song but still end up loving it.

I used to listen to Pentagon when they had their pre debut tracks out, and then generally fell off until Daisy. Daisy is so insanely good. It is still in rotation on my frequent songs. Top Song in my Wrapped for 2023, 2022 and 2021.

LOVE that you’ve gotten around to Pentagon. They are one of my ult groups. Recommendation for a future video - you need to check out Spring Snow. There’s only a dance practice type video for it (or live stages) and I don’t think it gets enough love. One of their title tracks I think is underrated too is Critical Beauty which samples Elvis’ Jailhouse Rock. But they are all round a superb group. You can’t go wrong with any of their content

You should check The Game, Daisy, Runaway, Can you feel it, Like this, Basquiat all of them are masterpieces

Additionally, if you're ever looking for an intense throwback, SM had a group called SM the Ballad consisting of Jonghyun from SHINee, Kyuhyun from SJ, Jay Kim of Trax, and... Pentagon's own Jinho!! Who was called Jino at the time under SM. They have an insane ballad called Hot Times which is just like 90% adlibs of all these men competing with each other 😂 it's great!

Highly recommend you check out all of their It's Live performances -- not only are the performances of their own songs incredible (the Feelin' Like live is definitely a must-listen), but they do amaaazing covers, often of girl group songs (I cannot stress enough how life-changing their cover of Savage by Aespa is)! As explained by many below, they started with 10 members. There are some comebacks without Yanan because of his hiatus, and then recently, Jinho was enlisted. In Feelin' Like, there are 8 because Hui (pronounced Hwee) was enlisted. Like you noted at the beginning, they're well known for being super funny -- can't wait for you to learn more about them and hear more of their music!

While Feelin' Like is their most recent Korean comeback title, they released Pado, a Japanese mini, in August that was great because we got Hui back from the military and Boys' Planet. (Also adding to the shock factor a bit, Hui produced one of the host's songs on BP before becoming a contestant!) Some of my fave Pentagon songs that weren't on here: Runaway, Dr. BeBe, Basquiat (performed on Road to Kingdom!), and Spring Snow.

i am here for the yeo one lore..... he originally wanted his stage name to be "여운" (yeowoon), which translates to "lingering feeling" in korean and is also a play on words with his last name "yeo". i guess cube didn't find it catchy enough and suggested "yeo one" to him and he stuck with it! basically means the only one, number one etc ^_^

ok let me explain! Hui was indeed a contestant of boys planet. Yanan, chinese guy, was not in the kprofiles picture, the thing is, edawn left pentagon in 2018 thats why at the beginning it said "currently a 9 member group" (they didn´t count edawn) so the one not present in the picture is Yanan due to hiatus; so yea he is still in hiatus

The stylist absolutely popped off during Feelin' Like, the outfits were amazing and they enhanced member's beauty so I am not surprised you felt attacked XD The "highnote guy" you keep pointing out is actually Jinho. He is the small bean one but let that not fool you, he is the oldest lol. He used to train at SM and he actually debuted there first with a unit called SM The Ballad (it was a project involving the great vocalists at the company). The tall red shirt guy in Shine + blue hair guy in Do or not + the platinum blonde in green in Feelin' Like is Yanan, the Chinese member. He unfortunately missed a lot of their comebacks because of the hiatuses so that's why he is missing in a lot of photos. The closeup guy in Do or Not with black hair in Yeoone and the one with cards is Shinwon. You also seem to enjoy Yuto as a rapper. The other one, maknae Wooseok you were able to pick up, he is the other tall boi of the group, the tallest actually. Honestly the height thing is such a funny inside joke because overall, most Pentagon members are rather tall. Only the two oldest members Hui & Jinho are on the smaller side. And Wooseok and Yanan are way above avarage so they make other members look even smaller. If you compare them to other groups they are absolutely towering everyone as a group (maybe beside SF9 and KNK cause they are also giants). Ok, I am Universe. However I didn't find them until after the show that put them together. Yes there was 10 member orginally. And Dawn was dismissed for the frickin stupidest reason. He fell in love. So both Dawn and Hyuna started dating and when the two of them and Hui had done a side project called Triple H and they had two songs. One called "365 FRESH," and "Retro Furture." Both are frickin amazing songs. But during promotions for Retro Furture, info about them dating had come out. They had been dating for 2 and half years. Cube said breach of contact, and let them both go. Hui is so good that not only can he sing but he is a composer and writer. He composed Wanna One's song "Energetic," However, Hui and Wooseok wrote the lyrics. As of October 9, 2023, five members decided not to resign with Cube. That would be 1. Yeo one 2. Yanan 3. Yuto 4. Kino 5. Wooseok Three of the last four, Hui, Jinho, and Hongseok had their contract put on military put on hold due to military time. And the last one, Shinwon, I don't think he has made a decision yet. I love the fact that I am exactly 21 years older than Hui. Both of us born, August 28th. I was born in 72, he was born in 93. So the last thing I'm gonna give you is a list of songs that you really need to check. Pentagon is so underrated. And now that they left Cube, but are still together. Very much like Got7, we don't when we will see their next comeback. So here is the list: 1. Runaway 2. Like This (2 of my favs) 3. Critical Beauty (name the song they sampled for this song) 4. Can You Feel It (underrated for sure) 5. Naughty Boy (last song that Dawn wrote for the group, but got no credit) 6. Violet (not one of my favs, but Universe loves it) 7. Humph! 8. Dr. Bebe (if you like dark concept, this one covers dark) 9. Sha La La (fav) 10. Daisy (beautiful) This last song I'm gonna name is the song they created for the show "Road to Kingdom". This song shows all their abilities in the best possible way. The song is called "Basquiat." You should really start checking out some of these songs. You don't have to react to them. But trust me when I say Universe will if you do react. As for Pentagon as a whole, I hope that they have at least one more comeback. At least to say good bye. I hate for them to leave it in limbo.
