The control can communicate, via communication cable typically included with pump purchase, to adjust pump speed when solar heat is available or not. It can raise pump speed to the right power needed for proper flow through the solar pool heating collector array when heat is available and can reduce speed to the proper flow rate for filter only mode when heat is not available or pool temp has reached desired level. This allows for the most energy efficient use of the pump and heating the pool, lowering utility bills for annual pump operation versus a single speed pump sized for heating mode requirements.
