Leigh Tkd He's said in a bunch of interviews that he cannot memorize words or choreography. It's really hard for him. So, yeah, he probably goes by tuning when singing his part normally, and may very well not know the words so well.
Rachel Childs That is so fun. I know his part is different, but it still makes me think of Damon Alburn who is the creator of Gorillaz. He writes the music and doesn't remember the words xD Supposedly he'll be in concert ad libbing. lol
Leigh Tkd Haha. As a singer, I know how easy it is to forget words. I have done it many, many times before. I heard a lovely story of an opera singer in Italy who was onstage in a show when she forgot the words to her aria. She ended up ordering a pizza in Italian to the aria's melody. The best part? The critic reviewing her commented on her excellent connection to the words of the aria....

Jay 4eva have you seen PTX doing "Aha!" live at the Star Vista, Singapore? they do a gorgeous choral piece at the beginning, and you get to hear the classical training in Avi's voice. also, Mitch GOES OFF in that performance; one his best live performances ever.

Avi's part at 1:44 "the SAAAAMME" was actually really well done. I kept replaying it and it didn't sound forced or anything. I want to hear him seriously sing that part. I bet he could do it. He can sing up to a C#5, so I feel like he could probably do this song if he worked at it.
Those aren't whistle tones. They're overtones which are two notes at once. The high notes you hear are harmonics. There's a huge difference between whistle tones and overtones.
also, you should look up the cover of "Ring of Fire" he did with Home Free. there's a part where he has the melody and it's very obviously a tenor part and he does it beautifully
Avi has a somewhat wide vocal range, but it’s not really forte and he prefers bass. Yet if he really needed/wanted to I think he could sing Scott’s part lol

After watching this a million times I think I figured out why this is so f*cking hilarious. Usually it's the Trio that is playing and laughing etc. This time we got to see "mom & dad" just totally goofing off.
I just love how they all try so hard to sing each others parts, it was just too hilarious. I replayed it like 10 times trying to focus on one person at a time. Mitch: trying so hard to beatbox Scott: Singing like he knew, which he might've Kirstie: Messes up on first verse singing bass Avi: doesn't know the lyrics and confused on what to sing Kevin: laughing to whole time he started singing tenor
Haha. I loved this. Mitch and Scott were just having fun and going along with it, Kirstie was just like "yeah I'm not doing this" Kevin was dying and Avi eventually gave up trying to calm Kevin down
Seriously, I've had a horrible 24 hours and Kevin's laugh just made me GAFFAW laugh - that was awesome! I mean, they were all trying so hard but then the ridiculousness of the whole thing and Kevin just NOT being able to keep himself together? Best video choice ever when having a bad day...
