3 of the 5 members of Pentatonix are Martin High School alumni. At a choir alumni concert event on April 7, 2012, those three performed a couple of songs for their fellow alumni during rehearsal.
They sung this song before Pentatonix was even formed at a concert when they were in HS. Avi and Kevin wasn’t thought of yet, so they didn’t have a part.
@@heatherroberson8981 At the beginning they stated that they had re-arranged the song to include Avi and Kevin, which was their audition for the Sing Off. At this point, they had become used to singing it the new way, which is why you can hear Scott say, "Oh yeah, the Trio version" at one point.
Madeline Castro Fun fact:My choir teacher said her friend knew pentatonix from muddle school and other friends met them at the Texas best singers choir when they were in Hugh school...they didn't noticed until now XD
They could have been there. They were all attending an alumni event. However, I don't see Mitch being the type of person to do or say that. Besides, this took place at the beginning of their career. They hadn't even released their first EP yet at this point.
@@TheSamuelnewbloom no. This video is after. Which is why they laugh sometimes because they are trying to sing the trio version but fall in to the pentatonix version
@@hernameispekka_Rebecca I guess I’m not 100% sure but the original video of this song is those 3 in high school choir like 15-20 years ago. This might be after they got together, but the original is what made them popular is highschool
At 1:02 Scott is like: How the song continues oooh the ceiling got the answer and at 2:04 mitch and Kirstie turns to look at Scott and instinctively know what to do next it is so awesome how they collaborate together and how good at singing they are and they are soooo sweet and by that I mean the whole pentatonix.
I love how they all look at each other and each one remembers the different parts that changed. . . and the way they can read each others faces and points to change show how great they are together!!!
If I went to school there and they came, I wouldn't be as calm as any of them. I'd literally be the weird/annoying one sobbing her eyes out and lip syncing along.
The audience were all alumni of the Martin High School Choir, and many of them were probably in the choir with the Trio together. They recognized where the Trio were having to make changes on the fly to cover parts normally sung by Avi and Kevin in the re-arranged version. Plus, at one point Scott actually says, "Oh yeah, the Trio version," then messes up again and Mitch & Kirstie have to get him back on track. The audience realized this and were reacting normally to it.
