I think that the VA's sound different for a lot of different reasons, like different mics, mixing, and the fact that people just get older

SpongeBob gets full voice acting and well animated scenes while Pokemon gets literally nothing

It's been 20 years. The voice actors got old as one would expect.

Weird how no matter how much time passes, they never change the formula for these SpongeBob games, easy speedrun material, nothing more.

It’s honestly really nice seeing a company make the right decisions to make money. They knew that if they made a game that appealed to the fans and general audience, and solely that, it would be loved and sell. What’s more, the lower price point shows this even further

The only reason that i see them patching something is if it is easy to do with the potential for the glitch to softlock the game like in the case with Metroid Dread. Other than that there is really no reason for them to patch something that one has to go out of their way to do in a single player game

I cannot blame Charlie for thinking the voices were different at first. Who would expect so many people to keep reprising these roles for 24 years and onward? Even in other video games, they almost always get all the actors they need for the roles. I’ve noticed Clancy Brown was absent from a number of Krabs roles back in the day, so I’m surprised he was on board for Cosmic Shake AND Nick Brawl 2.

The voices have been changing gradually since the show started but most of us are so used to the first few seasons and first movie that we’re getting about 20 years all at once.

I don't think the voice actors are at fault, I feel like the writing for the dialogue is so awkward and a bit out-of-character and it just sounds weird being spoken

oddly enough this game is quite literally GEX, but with a SpongeBob re-skin and made more for kids instead of edgy teenagers. the amount of GEX vibes im getting is insane, even the part where sponge dresses up to join the portal (or tv in gex) that he enters into.

If the game's already getting patched, that will complicate things for any speedrunner attempting this. Although, you could just buy the console version, unplug your system from the internet and install the game sans patches. Provided that all the game data is on disc and not locked off via download.
