@very_real I'm a meta quest 3 user but I'm very carful I mean I just got the quest 3 from quest 2 so it does not have a carry case but me I would avoid the sun when carrying mine it's super expensive but the Pass through is actually good depends on the lighting in your room that gives it its Quality.

It does exist. That's what most of the people I showed in the video are doing, and the quest 3 is $500

This is a pretty good point. However, staring at your phone and not paying attention to your surroundings while walking in areas with traffic is objectively foolish and dangerous. It sounds more like you are referring to "kids ain't livin' in the moment. They're rotting their brains with those." Type of remarks. Walking and being on your phone is fine if you are still paying attention, but we've all seen the countless clips of people walking straight into fountains or open manhole covers or into traffic. I think the meta quest 3 is very similar because you are physically immersed vs. idly texting here and there. Also, the quest 3 obscures hearing as well as vision, which adds to its danger. This entire issue will be meaningless in a couple of years when the technology becomes as convienet as phones.

@@very_real No, I was referring to what you were referring to. The sheer distractibility and awkwardness. Before cellphones anyone who was seen talking out loud with nobody near them would have been viewed as "crazy". In a twist, just yesterday i got smacked by a sliding door despite being told "be careful" by a stranger becuase I thought the person in question was talking on their phone and not to me. As for obscuring hearing, there's these things called earbuds, which came after headphones (quick google search reveals the first portable ones came out in 1979). The only thing that could conceivably be "new" here would be mixed reality where people start waving their hands and physically interacting with things nobody else can see. What's going to happen here is mixed reality will kick in and we'll have to put up with the exact same things we did with cellphones, walkmans, and if you want to go really really far back, the invention of the pocket novel. HEY! Stop reading while your walking idiot!. (which I got a few times as a kid).

What exactly are you doing on the headset on car rides and walks and stuff?

@@very_real I'll use the browser to pay my bills, find information, do school work for college, do studying for IT certifications, watch movies, watch youtube, listen to music while in vrchat if I'm in a stationary place IRL like starbucks or panera bread or the bus or the train or if I'm passenger in a car I made a curtain to go around my headset and use an IR flashlight so the headset is getting enough light while not being able to track movement from the windows through the camera. (This is alittle more difficult on a bus or train as I cant only do it if I have a jacket on to put over my head and use a IR flood light to have the quest 3 to be able to not lose area tracking but it will at least avoid outside movement so I stay stationary.) I sometimes use remote desktop methods to connect to my computer at home for more intense uses while on the go. And I always keep an extra bobovr battery or a power bank if i need extra juice which at full charge with just one bobo battery and the quest internal battery I can last a good 6-7 hours depending what I'm doing then use my back up bobo battery for another 2 hrs and power bank gives me about 2-3 hrs of extra life as well. After that I go to a place with an outlet to charge for more juice if I'm staying out longer which usually I'll be home by then and just hop over to my index on my pc.

I don't understand why you would carry the headset and the batter pack and all that other stuff to do things you can do on your phone. What's the real benefit of doing that on Quest 3 besides a bigger screen? I genuinely don't understand and am trying to, but it sounds very inconvenient compared to a phone that can do everything you mentioned.

@@very_real I havent had the issue of walking into people or people walking into me. I'm very aware of my surroundings and if Im fully immersed I take a look around me every 30mins to an hour a timer reminds me. I also conceal carry with a permit and know how to defend myself so that's not a problem either.

Then why go to the most expensive place to test it? You can't justify spending that much money to get into a place like this just to sit down and mess with a vr headset.
