A very different vlog today. We decided to let the People of Zipolite tell you what they think about their home, what attracted them to come here in the first place, why they stayed, what they do now and how they would characterize their abode. We present this in a form of a documentary.
Each and everyone of them has a very interesting story to tell.
Enjoy an insight to the holiday destination Zipolite in the state of Oaxaca in Mexico and get the feel of this fabulous destination. And still, Zipolite is not for everyone...

I used to go to Zipolite every year, I loved to be in front of the sea for sunset drinking a Corona Caguama doing nothing, just forgetting that there is a different world out there, just relaxing

I've travelled to Zipolite a few times and loved this little documentary. I especially enjoyed the interview with the owner of La Providencia. It's one of my favourite restaurants ever.

@@TheWayWeSawIt It looks pretty much the same. Of course there must be new and bigger places to stay and restaurants but there in no great noticeable difference. Still no high rise hotels and condos from what I see. And looks like still a cheap backpacker kind of place. It's no Cancun or Hautulco yet and I think the locals probably prefer it that way. I would definitely return if possible. I loved Oaxaca! Mazunte is the beach that has changed. When we were there in 94 there was only one restaurant on the beach and we were the only people there.

It is very inspiring to hear so many different stories of different people, but who share the same place for living. I just discovered your channel and, is awesome how you depict the beautiful places, but most importantly, peoples opinions while living there, which I think is great because is not the tipical travel vlog. This was inspiring, most of all because this month I'm traveling alone and its really nerve-wracking for me..

Zipolite es maravilloso, soy orgullosamente mexicana....vy a hacer un comentario espero no incómodar amigos extranjeros de diversos países..he sido testigo de acontecimientos racistas hacia la gente de mi país en diversas playas de Oaxaca por parte de algunos de ustedes así que los invito a ser portadores informativos entre su gente a no ser racistas respetar el lugar que los recibe con los brazos abiertos. Si eres extranjero y tratas mal a mi gente lárgate a tu país y sino eres bienvenido...he observado que prácticamente esta invadido por extranjeros Mazunte, Zipolite y cercanos lo cual es muy bueno por varias razones solamente te invito amigo extranjero a respetar a mi gente y mi país tu país.

Stayed at Hotel Gloria in spring of 1979. Gloria's was the only "hotel" on the west headland of the beach -- actually just a collection of a few large huts. On the opposite eastern headland was a small 20 room hotel. On the beach were only two small huts that sold beer and tacos --nothing else, just wild horses running up and down the beach In 1979 beer was 3 pesos or 30 cents each. Made several saves in surf of swimmers in trouble in the two days I stayed.

No existe la gente originaria de Zipolite. El lugar estaba deshabitado hasta que los hippies de California lo descubrieron y "fundaron" Zipolite.

The Way We Saw It no mames, yo fui el 70 y ya había gente viviendo ahí. Tenian sus milpas y sembradios de jamaica y eran familias establecidas. Y mazunte era un asesinadero de tortugas, mataban un promedio de 500 tortugas diario, los huevos de tortuga se los tiraban a los perros, ni siquiera los enterraban en la playa para confiar reventaran. Viví ahi varios años, mi hijo nacio un 1 de enero en zipolite en el 74. No me salgas con bobadas.

Hey guys! Great video. We'll be headed to Zipolite next month for our stepfather's birthday. Do you have any recommendations for a birthday dinner?

Thank you for watching. Zipolite is a great place, very relaxed and easy going. For the birthday dinner we would see two options. La Providencia restaurant is food wise as good as it gets in Zipolite. Mexican/international fusion, delicious cocktails and gentle garden setting. Remember: Zipolite is not the place to dress elegantly: shorts, flip-flops and T-shirt is the dress code even at La Providencia. If you like a beach front setting, then you should go to El Alquimista restaurant, it has a magic setting at the beach with fires and candles. Food can sometimes be inconsistent but if the setting is the key for you, then you are in the right place. Here too, feet in the sand, easy dress code. Ja, wirklich sehr interessant, daher ist es auch spannend dort zu sein. Keine Sorge. Wir gehen dort nur zum Strand anstatt zu stranden. Gehen aber sich noch mal hin.

A very well done little documentary by the way. Have you found other accommodations for your extended stay??? Whether you have or not, I recommend you turn right instead of going into Zipolite town, and explore the area just at the edge of town, where there is a group of four hotels/guest houses, including "Casablanca"! I pushed the simple to its extreme. But i hope,if i stay there or in the town of Pochutla, i will be able to find a couple of cute girls to take good care of me. I don.t do alcool or drugs but i appreciate having a good time in my room. I'm not a monk. Its not because i'm on youtube i can't hope to been taken care the way i like while in a place . In all my travels, i 've always been able to find beaches to enjoy the way i like. This place have it without having to search for it. I wonder if there is the other fun thing i look for in travels. Thanks

The Way We Saw It I went there like 20 years ago and with girlfriend and we liked it. But now solo but not a monk because of that. Never been to Thailand and there is at least one long beach near Phuket airport that can be used freely and in Thailand, well, there's entertainment.Maybe too expensive because so many tourists but there is possibilities.But it's very far.Zipolite,6 hours on plane and I,m almost there....Groso modo, a nice beach is a nice beach, anywhere.Having fun around or being bored, that makes a difference. That's why I asked. Really not sure what to do. Thanks. You know,3,4 hours on a beach is fun.There,s 24 hours in a day and many days in a month....
