Wait?! Wait?! Wait?! Your GF *STILL* talks with her family after they held both of you and threatened your life?! So many red flags all around.

I’m a lesbian and anyone who would maintain a relationship with their family after said family tried to kill me because homophobia would be immediately dumped. Excuses or justifications would be ignored.

I understood it as the sisters she still talks to?? Like they were there to talk and was thrown off by the kidnapping murder plot. The parents are definitely banned from the country, if not in jail for attempted murder and human trafficking.

And clearly the fact that the father was given majority custody later is proof that even if the truth had come out, it was clear that the mother was clearly unfit to safely or properly care for OP, while OP's dad was willing to do _anything_ to keep OP safe and healthy. It's cases like that that make me incredibly frustrated how fathers tend to be seen as "second class" parents with less parental rights than the mother, when fathers should have the exact same rights as the mothers do.

I was taken from my bed at age 15. I was missing 10 days. I climbed out of a transom window in the bathroom and ran through the woods completely naked. I recognized where I was only to be grabbed by the hair from behind. He tried to kill me. He beat me, stabbed, strangled me (and other things of course) he left what he thought was my dead body in a shallow ditch. The ditch was for water run off. The water was extremely cold. A man and his grandson found me the next morning. Drove me to hospital. Doctors said the only reason I lived was the water slowing my body down so I didn’t bleed to death. The guy who did it is dead now. He killed himself. So yeah the world’s a better place. I’m fine. Got out of hospital, went to physical therapy. I’m 48 now. Been married 30 years, two kids, both in college. It doesn’t bother me, it never really did. The only thing about it that stuck is I’m a super safe person, conceal carry and I’m not very social.

I was the target of a human trafficking ring. An old man came up to my school saying he was my Grandpa and was trying to pick me up. I remember that day pretty specifically, my teacher had told me I had to do a bonus quiz (i was in the 1st grade so it sounded legit) and she left me in the classroom with a worksheet and the lights turned off minus the emergency lights. My mom burst through the door and rushes me straight to the car. I never even technically left that school in any kind of legal way, Ma just never took me back. My Ma says the scariest part is that the man knew me by name, my Pa later told me that meant it was an inside job. According to Ma, none of the teachers or staff were acting like it was weird and it felt like they were trying to distract her. Which, i know this sounds insane, but I think just the whole school was in on it. I dunno. I'm fine now, we left that school a long time ago and moved out of that town. I have this very looming anxiety that whatever child trafficking ring that was after me might come back. My Ma didn't call the police from what I remember, and I feel scared for all the other targets because I bet some didn't make it out alive. Edit: Also just got done talking with my parents. The school was the Lincoln School of Science and Technology. So, even though I know it's unlikely anyone will read this, just please don't send your kids there. I'm not sure if the school is known for criminal activity but just stay away.

There have been reports in the local news recently that basketball coaches and some teachers have been in on some trafficking stuff. They were caught because the FBI got a tip off from a dude who used an online escort service and they turned up to a hotel room where a 15 year old was located. The school staff was definitely in on it by the sounds of what you wrote here.

Yes, OPs, if you were held against your will (by anyone other than active law enforcement) you WERE kidnapped. In fact Story 8 OP, not only were you kidnapped, but it sounds like your girlfriend was ALSO kidnapped.

@kikialeaki1850 Being held against your will on its own does not constitute kidnapping, yes, but is one of the factors in the legal definition of kidnapping. On top of that, false imprisonment itself is a punishable crime, with the difference between the two being the movement of the victim.

According to my parents back when I was around two I "disappeared" from the yard. After a search around the neighborhood, I was found - in some tall brush - with a teenage neighbor boy - who was in the process of undressing me. I don't remember any of it, and they never told me what happened to the boy who done it. This was over 60 years ago so I doubt if police were involved in things like that back then. I do know that his family and mine were never on good terms all the time I knew them.

The thing is when you're young and get kidnapped so long as nothing horrid happens to you it's just kind of a weird event. I was kidnapped when I was 2 so I don't remember anything about the incident but from what I was told not much happened other than a really bad diaper rash. The only reaction you ever get after the fact is an unsasy feeling around the person/people who kidnap you. So yeah, it may seem weird that there's little to no reaction but that's just how children's minds work in that situation. Stay safe out there guys!

Not kidnapped but I got molested as a child (my private parts were just being touched) As you can probably tell its just quite the fact to me it happened. I know it's wrong, but it happened, I remember it to a degree and that's it. I eventually talked to my mom about what my brothers friend was doing and he got kicked out forever, end of story. The only thing I'm questioning since I'm older, is if it might be why I'm uncomfortable with my private areas but that's it.

I came close to being kidnapped one time. My story is this: I was between the ages of 7 and 9. After school, I'd generally walk to my house with my older cousin. That day, she was absent from school but my parents already knew I'd be walking home. So afterschool comes and this white car stopped next to me and offered me a lift. Luckily I learned what my parents taught me, and I said "no thanks, sir. My house is just around the corner, so I'll be fine, and I'm meeting up with a friend soon." The friend part was a lie, but the guy left me alone and when I was 17, learned that the guy is a kiddy diddler who targeted and was the stepfather of someone in my family when they were a kid back in the 80's. I don't know but can only imagine what would have happened to me if I got into the car with him, but I'm glad I had my head on my shoulders

Ten years ago I had some strangers break down my door, beat me until I was paralyzed in pain before hauling me away in their car to this place where they kept other kidnap victims. They wanted ransom or I would not be let go, however they seemed to have some other designs and the ransom was just so I could get back home until they do it again. Next day, their boss came and saw me and he seemed dissatisfied with me and they just let me go. I thought about reporting them, but apparently you just can't do that. I now live with the fear that these unpunished strangers can just decide to kidnap me whenever they feel like it and face no consequences. And that's the story of how the police arrested me instead of another guy because their GPS brought them to the wrong place.

It never goes away really. It took about 4 weeks for me to get rescued, and a lot happened. After, I don’t remember much. I stopped seeing myself as a human for a while, more like a puppet who’s strings had been cut, moving just to barely stay alive. I’m not usually this honest about it nowadays, as I read the book no longer human and took “annoying charisma” as my only personality trait. It’s not getting much better but I’m starting to feel more like a human. It’s easier to move without feeling like my limbs weren’t mine.

I was kidnapped as a child, only for a few hours, and at the time it wasn't fully clear to me, but now it most definitely is... I was very young still. One of our cats, 1 of 2 Norwegian Forest cat brothers, had run away years before this happened. My dad and I were feeding some birds some distance from our house, but not much, when my dad said he saw our cat. Except I realized it wasn't the cat who still lived with us, but our previous cat. This is the part that is hazy but at some point did we encounter the people who now cared for him and who insisted he was a female (he was not, he was a castrated male). My dad grabbed the cat at some point and ran, telling me to follow, but I was fairly small and not that fast. The other people then pushed me inside their house, onto the couch. I was incredibly frightened. They gave me a glass of cola which I refused to drink (and I refused to drink cola for a looong time after that), and then I had to wait until my dad returned, which he did only after he locked up the cat in our house. I don't remember too much about what happened afterwards, but I do know at some point in the days after the police got involved, and seeing as both parties had done things wrong, we got the cat (no idea why...) and nobody was charged, though both parties were warned. If anyone wonders what happened to that cat... he was a menace now cause he was outside of his territory... and at some point he ran away again, was returned to us until he ran away again and we never saw him again. I still refused to go past that house for the next few years... never realized how much it had affected me.

My story is mild thank goodness. I was 5 playing in my fenced yard. A guy comes up and asks me if I want to see kittens. Obviously I said yes. I’m a dummy. He took me under a trailer and tried to get me to give him a BJ, but I didn’t know what to do and he keep gagging me. I finally got away somehow. I ran back home. Never told my mom. I was also kidnapped by my bio dad. He got mom’s paycheck cashed it, he said we’d pick her up later and that we were going Florida. Promised we’d go to Walt Disney world. I fell asleep woke up I have no clue where, but well away from my mom. We got to Florida visited my grandparents dad’s parents. We moved into a trailer I lived with him for a year. I was basically his maid I cooked I cleaned, no school. I finally got tired of it called my grandmother mom’s mom and asked to come home. They paid for a bus ticket to go home. At one of the stations my stuff got stolen. Mostly coat, Walkman and tapes. I think I managed to keep what little money I had. Finally got back home to my mom. That was the scariest thing I had to do as an older teen to ride the bus all the way back for several days by myself. Riding buses was not new me or my mom . We did it all the time, but I had never done it by myself.

Heads up this is LONG! But, I’ve almost gotten kidnapped several times before, some i’m not 100% sure on if i’d actually get taken or not due to my paranoia, but one i know 100% i would be been taken, which was the first time, and that caused my paranoia Story v So this happened a year ago, going to be 2 once december hits again. I was in freshmen year and 14 when this happened. My sister had already got home since she had quit band when i joined it and didn’t have any after school things. unlike me. i was walking home from my school after a band or esports thing i had (both would end around 5-5:30) since i lived not far near it. We had also found a bus that goes in the direction i need it to mostly so that saved time, just it was slow and such. At this time it was december so it was already fairly dark. i had got off the bus and started walking when it hit me how dark it was already. i had my headphones in my ears too so i couldn’t hear much around me i only took one out when i saw someone from across the road. When i saw them i got an instant bad feeling, like i should start running or call someone but i didn’t we had made direct eye contact for a second before they came to the edge of the sidewalk, looked both ways, and crossed after they had walked a bit further, thinking i wouldn’t notice this is when i started to panic and called my friend Ath(that’s what we’ll call her) they picked up quickly and i instantly started to pull the “Hey babe, i’m almost at your house!” card like my sister did before thinking it would work. Ath was confused but caught on quickly too ..The trick didn’t work. i could hear the person speeding up, and that’s when i dropped the act and started fucking *bolting.* Ath stayed on the line with me the entire time as a witness and to keep me from going into a full panic attack too I nearly fell several times since my bag was HEAVY with shit i have (I’m autistic and have adhd and i have a lot of things i bring to help with this) and i already can’t run for long periods of time since i have breathing issues from me being a dumbass in middle school, but i made myself run like i never had before, i didn’t even look before crossing since i was so scared. When i started running so did the guy so i couldn’t really slow but thankfully he was slow himself eventually i had began to reach my house, which is when i couldn’t run anymore/as fast and when he started to catch up. If it wasn’t for the fact that my mom got home at the same time as me and she actually having her keys out, i probably would’ve been taken. I yelled for my mom and told her instantly i was being followed and i was scared and wanted to be inside asap and she hurried, unlocked the door and got me inside. As she was unlocking the door, the dude was also rounding the corner from what i saw due to lightning When we were inside and the door was locked, i started to break down horribly due to the mass amount of fear. My parents told me i could go stay in my room to calm down or watch whatever i wanted in the living room or whatever would help, and kept having to reassure i was okay I ended up staying upstairs and staying on call for another 30 minutes sobbing while holding my cat. My dad wasn’t home when i got back so when he did get home, me and mom told him what happened, and he was furious. He ended up looking at the cameras, and my heart dropped when i saw what i saw The guy had attempted to get in, and when that failed, he got a small rock, threw it at the door, and walked back the way he came The next day my dad went out with his gun to find the man, which he did and he threatened the fuck out of them, to not come near me again (my dad is around 6’4 and was in the military so he’s terrifying)- I haven’t seen the man since i think, and if i have he has indeed stayed away. *So there is that story on how i almost gotten kidnapped. (Rest from here is just mild ranting for other incidents and things i’ve done since)* things have also happened after that incident, like a homeless trying to offer me suspicious coffee and 2 girls having to get him to stop before offering to walk with me in my general direction for a bit, Homeless asking me random questions, questionable people very clearly talking about me to air while i passed by before trying to call me over, etc Ever since that incident a year ago, i have had severe paranoia when out at night or while walking alone and i can’t have strangers behind me in a not so crowded area, which i hate that i’ve developed that. I will constantly be checking behind me, always have my key on my lanyard out and on, a friend or family member on speed dial, and a place i can hopefully dip into if i feel too anxious and paranoid (which has come in handy before) There have been other occasions where i’ve suspected being followed by homeless (like mentioned) and random people and i have had to dip into this hair salon near by. They know me kinda well and have served me tea to calm down, let me stay for hours, and have even checked cameras to let me know if the suspicious person has left or not. they also gave me free location once. They’re the best and my anxiety has always gone down when i pass that place which helps, even if my anxiety and paranoia keeps getting worse. I hate living down town is all i can really say. And i know things like this will keep happening as i have 2 1/2 years of school left as i’m now 15 turning 16 soon, and i have to keep walking down that same path, and i know we won’t be moving anytime soon, and neither will the homeless near by.

Oof, that sounds terrible dude, so sorry you had to go through that! As for having to walk home by yourself on that same path, is there any way you can get a ride home from your extracurriculars? I understand if your family’s schedules don’t line up well enough for a parent or sibling to always be available to pick you up, but maybe there’s a solution other than just public transportation, so you can have someone you trust with you for the journey? I was a huge marching band kid in high school, and knew a lot of the other kids’ parents who were parent volunteers. So when I wasn’t sure of getting a ride home, especially from events after dark, I often carpooled with my friends and had their parents drop me off on the way to taking them home. Maybe you can ask some of the people in your extracurriculars if you could catch a ride with them, or at least, if there’s anyone who lives in the same direction you do, walk part of the way together? Just a suggestion, in case you somehow hadn’t already thought of/tried that. It’s totally not unreasonable to want to feel safe, and I really hope you stay safe and well 🫶

Tw: sa of a minor, substance use. I was kidnapped at the age of 10 while playing one street over from my house. I was held at a house for 6 days and 7 nights. During that time, they worked on "breaking me in" this included tons of physical and sexual abuse to get me primed for s** slavery. They fed me he**in and I believe I was held for that amount of time as that's how long it takes to get physically addicted. After I was returned, the man that kidnapped acted as my pimp for the following 5 years and I was able to get out of it at 15. I was not, however, able to be released from my addiction as I struggle with it to this day as well as continuing s** work, but at this point, it's of my own free will, or as much as it can be having went through that at that age. It's really hard to say if there's anything I do now that I wouldn't have ended up doing if I didn't go through that as I had a really hard home life sexual, physical, emotional abuse as well as an alcoholic turned addict for a mother. And there's no way to say if I do things now that I didn't before because I wasn't a fully fledged human beforehand. Thank you for listening to my story. Hopefully it doesn't get taken down. I'm happy to answer any questions with no judgment, only curiosity. I recently came across some articles and that was how I learned that my kidnapper got 30 years in jail. He allegedly did this to 300 people, but the article says at least 1 minor at age 17 so I would estimate it as more since they didn't know about me or the few others I met around my age.

Story 5 is one of those where you wonder if the police start looking the other way when they realize what is going on. Especially if the dad was still able to win custody like that. As I recall there have been cases that went the other way, though I think it was a bad judge that sent a kid back to the parents and died, the grandparents were begging for that not to happen. No idea if the police can even pretend to let them slip by with that kind of case, well also not sure if grandparents would be able to run the way this dad apparently did.

I was almost kidnapped. Twice. Luckily, my parents taught me all the tactics people use and also, I just have really strong gut instinct. First time was after a quiz bowl in middle school. It was just me and a girl who was kicked out of basketball practice waiting for our parents to pick us up. I never spoke a single word to this girl because we were in two completely different social groups. A guy in white pick-up pulled into the car rider line and us girls locked eyes with each other, I'm assuming to see if one of us knew the dude. Of course, this was around the time my parents were divorcing and so they didn't really care about my siblings or I too much so even though I spam called my mom and my dad on my track phone, neither picked up. Guy starts asking us if our parents were coming to get us, if we needed a ride, if there are other adults around, if there's an event going on etc. I don't know how I managed to keep my composure and lie my ass off the way I did. I just kind of word vomited that I was kicked out of band practice and that there was a game going on so everyone should be headed out soon. At the mention of people coming out soon, he peeled out of there like his truck was on fire. Second time was in High school and I'm still pissed at how the teacher's aid and campus police handled it. I was doing volunteer work for the JROTC team by handing out hot meals during a football game. We always had stalls set up between the home stands and the back of the gym. It was basically an alley. I noticed that there was this one older guy walking around. We typically had older guys come through. Not uncommon, but something about him struck me as odd. Maybe it was the fact that he kept showing up in the alley, even as the game was being played. Maybe it was because I caught his side eye once. I don't know. I just knew something was wrong so I told the teacher's aid that he was being weird and I was worried. She told me that I was being paranoid and that he was probably there to see his kids or something. This guy was maybe late 20s. Not old enough to have a kid playing in a high school football game. Half-time rolls around and my mom and older sister had to go wait across the street at public shopping center to get me because there was no parking in the school's lot. As I made my way to the cross walk, I could hear footsteps behind me. I knew it was him. I didn't have to turn to know. He stood next to me at the cross walk and stared. I refused to address him or make eye contact back. I didn't wait for the light to turn and I dashed across the parkway. He chased. Unfortunately for him, I did a lot of cardio and managed to outrun him, but he definitely tried to grab my bag or ponytail and missed. When I made it to the car, I explained what happened to my mom and my bitch of an older sister said that it would have been better if something had happened to me because she wouldn't have to be there to pick me up with mom (She was grounded at the time for some other fucked up stuff and we're no contact for a variety of reasons). Mom told me to call the campus police and explain, well I did immediately and sent out a group text to any other JROTC students still left and told them to be on the lookout. I watched as we pulled away that the guy just walked back across the street and into the crowd at the game again. next day, I get pulled into the office and explain the situation, explain how I told the teacher's aid what was going on, and the only thing I was told was that I should have walked back onto campus and grab a cop and that I can't possibly blame the TA for trying to be rational. Fuck that noise.

I had a cup of tea after getting home. I wasn't gone long enough for anyone to have really noticed. Freshly a 16 year old girl, I was trying to meet up with a friend at a Starbucks when a man who seemed to be in his late 30s got me in his car, threateningly me the whole time. I was so scared. He drove us an hour out of town, and I assume came to the realization of what kidnapping someone would mean, so he told me that he would bring me back if I never said a word to anyone, threatened me more about what would happen if I did talk about it. I was returned back to where I was taken very unceremoniously. Many years have passed since then. I live halfway across the country from where he took me but I swear that I still see his face in crowds, and if someone touches me in certain places, it feels just like his hands. My parents have no clue that this happened, I don't think I'll ever want to see how they'd react to finding this out. I walked home.

my mother and my aunt were kidnapped by my grandmother. She shared custody with my grandfather. She shared custody with my grandfather. She shared custody with my grandfather. One day, she took them and left the province with them. She also faked their death. For almost a decade, my grandfather thought he had lost both his children and a fiery crash. That was, until she contacted him out of the blue saying to “come get his daughter (my aunt) because she couldn’t deal with her”. That was how he found out they were both alive. The trauma was so intense he wasn’t able to keep her either, and when my mom contacted him as adult, he was unable (unwilling?) to form a relationship with her. I’ve never met him, and all he knows is that his two children made it to adulthood.

My story- my bio dad took me from my mom when I was 2 months old he took me for a week and locked me in his closet to cry and wouldn’t give me a bottle when the police finally came to get me there was blood all over the wall (his not mine I still don’t know how it happened) the courts kept making me go see him until finally I started showing signs of abuse then the courts made supervised visitation he wouldn’t see me with police around so he stopped coming thankfully and that’s when he lost all custody of me but has continues to stalk me till this day he only did and does all this to me just to hurt my mom because she left him for our safety…

My dad kidnapped me and my sister he was allowed supervised vists(an agreement because he refused to divorce). Well one day years into this arrangement and him doing well my mom left for 5 minutes to get gas and came back to us missing. He held us for a few months enrolled us in school even and refused to allow us contact with our mom at all and only then did he send divorce papers to her. She should up once to talk and he rushed us inside hoping she didn't know he had us i believe. Me a mommas girl was upset and constantly asking to see or talk to my mom. One day they decided to not make me go to school and while he was sleeping my sister at school i took is phone had my moms number engraved in my mind i called her sobbing tellingher to get us what school we went to and everything. She got us the nect day, locked herself outof her car cause she was rushing. He had taken us from our city to a city about an hour away. He was a drug addict and abused my mom for years and his gf of the time.
