I stumbled on your channel today. Watched a couple of vudeis and decided to make this. It came out really nice .. it can only get better from now. Thank you so much for sharing. Edits: my husband finished the entire first batch, had to mix another batch for the children it came out super nice.
Thank you Aunty Flo for all you hardwork here. I have tried the pancakes and it came out perfectly but when I tried the Puff Puff, it didn't come at well at all. First of all, I followed all the instruction. I used one de rica cup of 210 grams and all the other ingredients. I used the two teaspoons of yeast but the sause did not rise after keep it covering it and keeping it in a warm place. After frying it, the inside was not soft at all and the outside was hard it easily got burnt sef. Flo what did I do wrong pls. Im ready to try it again but I really want to get it right. Thanks
Esther I think the culprit here is the yeast. Maybe it is no longer active. Before frying, make sure the puff puff mix has risen to a greater amount than the original size. If not, it means the yeast did not work so no need frying it because it will not puff. Try again by changing to another brand of yeast. I hope you are using quick action yeast.
Thanks for the update. As much as I would love to try this, I can't. Can't eat yeast or sugar as of right now, what can I use instead of yeast and sugar? However, what is the alternative for white flour? No longer a fan of white flour. thanks
Unfortunately there's no alternative for yeast that I have ever used before. I have heard about using a mixture of baking soda and lemon juice but I have never used it hence do not know the proportions. Puff Puff needs a very active yeast to puff and have a spongy feel so I wouldn't trust any ingredient that is not yeast. For sugar replacement there's Stevia but any other ingredient that you normally use as sugar replacement should work as long as it has the ability to dissolve.
I love Puff puff so much but the problem they is that I can't find this yeast. I have search for read all over here but I can't find it please can anyone give me an idea how to find it or any clue thank you guys.
Angel Love baking yeast is quite common and is available in all grocery shops. Since you live in Germany, look for it in LIDL or similar supermarkets, they will surely have it. Tell them you are looking for the ingredient that makes bread soft.
Well done Ma'am. But please can I use yeast in place of baking powder in preparing burns? Although, my yeast is not very powdered & white like yours. It looks so tiny & somehow creamy in color. How good is it? Thanks in anticipation
If you add yeast to flour, it gives it the spongy texture of bread. Buns should be dense on the inside and hard on the outside that's why baking powder is used. Once you use yeast, you will get puff puff. My yeast is same as you described, it probably looks different to you because of the lighting.
All Nigerian Recipes. Thanks a bunch ma'am.... Meanwhile, I later got the baking powder and I must say that my buns came out perfect 👌 like yours.... Honestly, you're helping me in building my home with different delicious meals which I always learn from you.
Ese I just looked it up online, it should be fine. Maybe that particular brand is weak so try adding a bit more than I stated in the recipe. And have you seen my Making Puff Puff with Pizza Flour video? If you can buy pizza flour where you live, then use it straight away, no need to add yeast because it already contains the right amount of yeast. The video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UnUZoYNVIug.html Also make sure you are using plain flour with the yeast. There are many types of flour in the USA, eg self raising flour (which already contains baking powder) will not work for puff puff even after adding yeast, cake flour will not work either. This is what to use: 1. All Purpose Flour + yeast or 2. Pizza Flour
@@FloChinyere Thank you so much ma. I really appreciate. I actually watched your video before I started the process. I will try again with what you have suggested. Thanks again.
