***** I agree, fresh pizza is the best, I never fell into the cold pizza craze. Though one time I had a few hour warm, and it wasen't too bad for once. There are different ways, if you reheat in a pan and cover it in alumnian foil for a few minutes over medium the crust is crispy, cheese is fine, toppings are 'fresh'. Be careful not to get it too crispy though some may like that.
You guys should try Shawarma, after living in the Middle East for three years, i've learnt to love it! And so it doesn't need to have the bad street food reputation it currently does :)
Is Ben immune to heat or something? Every time something comes out of the oven, or pot, he just goes right in and touches it. Every time I do it, I burn myself...
Have you never heard of this before, because in Denmark it is realy commen, I see them in every day life. You can by batter special made for it. We dont call it for pizza swirls, but pizza snegle translated it is called pizza snails, because the swirls look like the house a snail have on top of it. Just a little facts 😉
Yep... added flavour and extra fibre. Fresh yeast is better if you can get hold of it... we just don't usually have any to hand so the dried stuff works well.
Yeast will still work in the fridge... just much slower. If you prove it at room temperature it'll need an hour or so but by letting it work much slower for 10-12 hours overnight you get a better flavour. it means you have to plan ahead... but I always prefer it! Warm water will help to activate it even quicker!
SORTED Food I have neither. =/ Any chance this works in a regular baking pan? Loved the recipe, hopefully it can be done... oh, I'm no sweet tooth, but we have SO MANY different sweet toppings here in Brazil, ppl would go insane...some places have over 50 options. I saw your recipe and yet was still a surprise to me, amazing =)
For the anyone (i.e., Americans) who couldn't understand that word around 1:05 and 1:50, it's "passata". And the other word is "sieved". Google "tomato passata" for definition.
We didn't use sugar because we left it in a warm place with plenty of liquid for plenty of time so it 'fed' off the natural sugars in the flour. The oil and salt are for general flavour (not to do with the yeast specifically). Hope that helps.
sweet pizza w/ brown sugar + cinnamon + pinch of nutmeg! I make scallion pancakes but instead of scallions i use brown sugar and they are a delish treat!!!
Dominos Pizza in Malaysia has something called Banana Kaya Dessert which is made from a regular pizza dough base, with kaya (A Southeast Asian coconute jam made from coconut milk, eggs, sugar, and pandan leaves) replacing the tomato sauce, sliced bananas, cheese, and icing sugar. It sounds like a really weird combination but it's fantastically good.
I liked the video for sweet pizza yes, but you guys literally read my mind! I was thinking of making something almost exactly like these, and here ya go - I wake up in the morning and the recipe is sitting in my sub box. Heck Yes.
If you make sweet pizza you could make a sugar cookie crust with white chocolate as the cheese and use milk as mushrooms and strawberry slices as pepperoni. Yum!
This recipe is awesome! I've been making them for school and now people always nag me to make them when there's an event to bring in food. Thanks Sorted :D
Because we're off doing loads of other Sorted bits... like working on the new cookbook and live demos we sometimes try to film a few in one go. Especially since we knew Jamie was going to be away.
When I was in Brazil last summer we went to this pizza restaurant and the only desserts they had were chocolate pizzas .... the best thing I've ever eaten!!
Congratulations on getting married! I've made similar 'pizza bites' but asian style, lots of indian spices, bits of chicken tikka, or keema (minced lamb) or whatever other leftover meat/curry we have left - SO good!
there's also a french kind of pizza with a very thin crust; it's usually served all you can eat, a main course of savory, a second course of sweet, no tomato sauce in either.
Hey! Mozzarella can release quite a lot of liquid, so the real balls probably won't work so well for this recipe. You can get the cheaper, grated mozzarella which might be better!
I've got a long day at the office tomorow. So i decided to make some Pizza Swirls. Have not tasted them yet, but they look fantastik. Thanks for that recipe.
SUGGESTION : A good thing my mom always does when making those swirls is put alot of onions and halfway through the baking when they're in the oven she puts some extra rasped cheese on top so that the cheese melts on top...really delicious ! ;)
these were SO GOOD! I made a vegan version with vegan cheese and vegan salami and omgggggggg. The dough is amazing as well, I love that the measurments were spot on!
I love this sauce, but knowing what I love on pizzas and how small these are, I know I'd end up doing some additions to the sauce. Blitzing up the tomato/garlic/basil with mushrooms and a little chili, mix the peccarino with a little fresh mozzarella for gooeyness, do a mix of meats maybe... Of course, a delicious vegetarian option would be marinated artichoke hearts and sundried tomatoes, maybe with feta or goat's cheese.
I love love love a chocolate pizza, i grew up near a place that made an amazing chocolate pizza and now that I'm an adult (more or less) I would love to make my own.
Here in South East Asia, there's a dessert pizza consisting of banana and pandan-flavoured kaya (a type of coconut custard), and it's freaking awesome even with the cheese! :)
Ah, the suggestion for sweet pizza reminded me of this awesome place I went to once. They had barbecue pizza, cookie pizza, and this super delicious strawberry cheesecake pizza! I'd love to see a recipe for something like those x3
Sugar cookie crust. Cream cheese and powered sugar mixed togetherness for the "sauce". And top with fresh fruit ( you can even make pretty mosaics. Fun and easy.
We (I live in the US) make a sweet pizza using sugar cookie dough for the crust, cream cheese icing for the sauce, and various sliced fruit for the toppings. I would love to see your version of a sweet pizza.
I make sweet pizza! We make a dough, then make milk chocolate sauce, then sprinkle on white chocolate. I use strawberries for pepperoni and add anything else people want, like biscuit/chocolates/m&ms etc. :3
dessert pizza XD i recently made one that was really good ^^ first i baked the base with some melted butter and cane sugar sprinkled on top then added lemon curd and baked again and let it set, then mascarpone cheese on top of that and finally raspberries
Awesome thing about pizza is it can imitate anything. Your favorite sandwich? You can make an open face version as a pizza, or a calzone for bread all around. Your favorite salad? Might want to leave out the lettuce, but everything is good to go on a pizza. Favorite dish? Use your pizza dough as your cooking sheet and plate. And best of all? Add a little sugar or honey to the yeast as it activates, maybe even some cocoa powder, and you've got dough ready to hold whatever dessert you fancy.
It looked like you guys had a lot of fun making this video. :) I found Ben's weirdo face-pulling (like the insane split second smile there at the end) especially hilarious.
