Perceptions 

Yup, perception is reality! I lived near a high traffic area that had constant sirens from police fire & ambulances, like 8 to 10 times a day, no joke. It was annoying, distressing & interruptive. Once I realized that every time I heard a siren, it meant that someones life was changing, that was someone's mother or brother, father or daughter, they were special to someone, my reaction to the sirens changed. My perception was changed. Yeah, the sirens still bother me, but not nearly as much, I was able to way better tolerate it.

This is very true. Challenging a person beliefs system can poison there soul. For example, most African students come from wealthy families. They called “Hood D”, Mr. Gangsta, and they loved me. A few of us took the graduate exam. I was the only one who passed. They refused to get help from me and continued to fail. They loved me when they thought I was stupid. They couldn’t accept the fact that I could be more intelligent than them (People in general tend to think African Americans are stupid). This ultimately ended our friendship.

IT'S like a parent telling a child, you ain't sh*t and won't amount to sh*t. You'LL SPEND A LIFETIME OF PROVING them wrong.

Truth, sometimes we have to stop blaming other people and look at ourselves, many times we’ve been hurt in the past and cling on to the past, If we have a mindset of not all men or women are bad then we can really heal. Plus when we are sick, it’s because of stress, pent up anger etc. Our spirit and way of thinking is linked.

- There are 3 sides to a coin (I prefer the edge) - Perception is reality (not necessarily fact) - The environment/culture will eventually overcome the individual - The subconscious is the ship/plane but the conscious is the rudder

I love conversations like this , as a 23 year old man on my own , I have come to have really deep moments of understanding about the power of perception. One thing I have been thinking about is the idea that reality is not real. I think it's interesting because we are only experiencing life through our own individual life experiences therefore everyone's reality is different. Technically none I us are living in one reality , I mean sure reality exist , it's just that none of us are actually living in it if that makes since , due to the fact that were all technically in our own reality due to life experiences. Perception goes hand and hand with this. Cool video uncle Rom.

Rom, do you think that a person's success is directly tied to the perception they have of themselves? I wonder what it would look like for someone to have *ultimate or supreme* confidence that they will succeed. Would someone with a supreme sense of confidence do things that the world has never yet seen?

Very good points! I think that the familiarity of the perception leads to a sense of safety in holding on to it instead of venturing into what would be considered the unknown. After a certain point a person has developed a way to navigate their perception of reality and may dread having to start at square one when elevating their beliefs. Heavy stuff.

If a strong men is that convinced about his reality he could literally change the way of thinking of a strong women. Because when a women falls in love 100% with that guy she will believe anything and do anything that strong men wants. That's how deep perception is.

This goes beyond psychosomatic illness. Which is stress related, especially when you push feelings down. Now beliefs are not false to them, they really believe. I don't appreciate when their beliefs are false as far as I am concerned and I am their "perceived" enemy. I would have a huge problem when they think things and apply them to me. Stay on your side with all that, leave me alone sense I'm an enemy.

I️ literally know a woman who believes she’s a victim in most situations. and she’s very controlling. It’s almost like she thrives off of drama.. and now at this point from the outside looking in She has constant drama. Her perception about life is so skewed most times she thinks she’s correct,SMH

I used to be on comics back in the day too, Rom 😂 till I took my collection to school and the principal confiscated it and held it till my father came to pick them up... he didnt think comics were good reading material so he never went to pick them up. Till this day I sometimes wonder if that school still has my collection somewhere in their storage or something but it's on the east coast and I live in california
