I am a retired climber. I gotta say, August you are probably the best climber I have ever seen. I have been watching your videos for a while now. And always looking for that “ oh I would never do that” moment. And I just never see that in your videos. Ya sometimes things don’t go right for you. But that is a climbers life. I never have that “what an idiot” moment. And I respect that you do show when things go wrong so we can all learn. Although I don’t climb anymore, I still do some work. Ground a stump at one house and dropped a big Red Oak at another yesterday. So I am always interested in trying to learn more. Brother, stay safe. Climb smart snd keep the videos coming.
Didn’t realize it was a double until 9 minutes in lol, What a unique specimen that tree was, hope they mill some blue stain boards 😍 great work as always August, thanks for taking us along!
I can't imagine deleting all my video footage. 😡 That would be super annoying! The shot in the beginning with the boom right next to you was nice. Really shows the size of it. I like the way you started the 500i. I'ma have to try that swing start method.
I’d be a nervous wreck topping a tree like that wind or no wind! I was thinking what I would do if it snagged and would not fall after making the cut, or getting halfway through a cut and my saw quit and had to wait on another one from the ground crew. Great job as always August!
👍 Awesome looking saddle As always a great video ♥️🌲 Curiosity has me wondering about the rattlesnake: did you get it with bow & arrow🏹, pewpew, slice & dice with chainsaw, or smash with falling a tree? Too much of my imagination 🤔 sorry that you lost the video.
Hey August how are you great video as always I hope all is well I have a question the zigzag how long have you had yours for how long do you think they're good for I inspect mine all the time I've had mine going on for years it still looks in good shape
So I'm definitely curious. This is the second harness now with the New Tribe patch on it. I know you bought new tribe stock. Thats how the slings were at a lower price. How many of those patches do you have left ?
@@AugustHunicke I hope those 2 harneses are very special to the recipients and they get well used. I'm trying to wear out my New Tribe Onyx but they were built tough just as the MB harneses are I'm sure.
Hey August! Nice work! Interesting to hear about the Jailbrake Device- I saw those at a regional arbor expo... seemed innovative. I know you probably have most of if not all the lowering device options available, what's preferable about that one?
@@AugustHunicke it's not necessary to use the pigtails? I'm not really in the market for one right away, but it seems to be something worth getting when I get to doing this more full time. I'm working toward justifying the extra insurance costs for adding tree work and minor excavation work to my business. It more than doubles my premium. So for now, I made an extra large porta wrap for around $50 out of a modified fence post driver... It works well enough for what it is.
