@@1mawesomel1kethat I dunno, I think there is still some impressive stuff in this video. Although to be fair I don't think his opponents are SDIing much
@@realcheemshes wrong, this was ahead of its time, no other fox moved and did combos like him at the time except for silentwolf, silentwolf for a long time and till this day is considered a legendary technical fox, him and dark were the ones that heightened the possibility of combos and fox
@@mellomessatsu Lovage was also up there. And for sure, this was waaaayyy ahead of its time. Yes, people are smarter / better now and have much better defense, but the techskill in this video is still unmatched by 99.9% of Foxes.
I remember when shined blind came out-- and how much fun everyone had watching that video. Perfect dark is definitely this season's shined blind. I want to say- Best melee video to date?
+Ricardo Salazar Mango would destroy dark. Dark is hands down the most technical beast to hold a gamecube controller. But he wouldnt be able to find openings on mango. Put it this way, dark got 4 stocked by zero last year. But he also whooped zero's ass in that set, but zero took it with a 4 stock.
***** Its because he isnt ever in a huge tournament environment. He doesnt get to play the top players. So he doesnt have a easy time adjusting and adapting. He is using his tech to literally stop people from being able to do anything. But against top players, they can get around and are used to adapting. Zero practiced with m2k so he definitely had an advantage when playing Dark.
@@robbyz512 i bet you suck lol. so many of the combos in this are completely true without at least decent SDI out. you can sdi out of jab upsmash dude, if you're running someone over THIS hard their DI doesn't matter unless they're actually sick. the average netplayer cannot invisible shine 4 times in a row whilst in the middle of a flawless combo, i'll tell you that much. Everything he tried to execute, he did perfectly, that's the point of the video. It's still sick
This guy's tech skill is amazing. I would love to see him perform in a US tournament regardless of how he'd place. I just want to see this tech used in a major tournament. And I want to see his hands as he plays. o.0
what makes this more amazing is how he is dash jump canceling his shines into a wavedash...crazzzy how he does that. This video is even more amazing then it was 7 months ago lol
The most amazing part of this video is that you somehow managed to make Sandstorm cool again. Just incredible. Dark is awesome. Best fox combo video ever.
*LEGENDARY* and iconic Melee video and montage of Dark's Fox showing of his tech skills. his crazy and awesome to think and see how much the meta has evolved. since this video how now its feels like everything that Dark's do in it is like a Child's Play to some players this days. crazy and incredible to think about it.
At first I thought Dark was reading the opponent's moves and responding with lightning efficiency. In reality, he has honed a few specific but highly effective combo entrances and chains so well that he doesn't need to do that. Once you're in his trap, his combos give you no freedom of movement, and he can predict how to smash you to death because he governs exactly what you'll do. He's eliminated the need to respond to the opponent in a genius way.
From the title and the skills employed, I would have believed this to be AR-reliant (See the "perfect control" ssbm vids), but for some reason I don't believe it is. Extreme props for the best fox I have seen, half those combo's looked completely inescapable under any condition other than player error. Shined Blind is childs play to this.
***** i've tried an arcade stick before with he converter, it was to abnormal for me lol. i've tried some silly things with GC controller. holding it upside down, claw method, playing looking through a mirror lol. all for the sake of fun
West and Hax would win, Dark was known for being really technical but not really that good of a player, even read the description, "everyone's favourite noob fox" lol.
"Combo/tech skill video starring Dark, everybody's favorite noob fox!" Good lord, if this is how a noob fox plays, I'd hate to go up against a pro one. o_O
Kids these days, don't know that this is old and I bet he's even higher and on another level in tech skill than this. This dude is so TAS and I wont ever see others do what he does. Also I bet he's learned the match-ups by now. I hope he posts new stuff so others can hush up about him only the knowledge of tech skill. Thanks.
More?...I don't know if he's ever travelled to the U.S. for melee or otherwise tbh. Would've been nice to see him against MaNg0, Armada, M2K, Hbox, PPMD, Hax, Plup, Axe, DSW, Zhu, PC, KDJ, Zain(now)...but now some of those players are retired or inactive.
He doesn’t travel but is still fairly active in his home country of Chile. He is currently ranked within the top 5 and has played often on Blassy’s stream and there’s even a highlight video on his channel ru-vid.com/show-UCTVVykiW9T8ymOeHNwBMcgQ
Will Scharnagl fair enough, lol Dark needs to play in the bigger tournaments and adapt to american/european top players, that is all. If he could afford to stay a year or two in the US, I bet he could give some serious trouble to top and god players. Sadly, he is in Chile, where the Melee scene is kinda small and where Top players are very few.
It was only recently I discovered my favorite childhood game could be played unlike the developers had ever imagined. Great vid. Shine, wavedash, short hop, d air, repeat. Too technical for me bro. XD
