Perfect Shallow Water Sailboat! Hake Seaward 

The boats were built in Stuart FL and then Largo at the IP factory. The 32 RK is a feature rich vessel with 6 gal water heater, stand-up shower, marine A/C, Yanmar 3ym30 engine, LP stove, etc. That V Berth is actually really big for a boat of that size, plus there is a quarter berth located aft on the port side, and the salon converts with filler cushions. The keel is not bonded. It is bolted with three 3/4" SS all threads with nuts and washers. It's raised by a 12V winch with 2 sheaves located on the top of the keel and one suspended from the deck plate giving the winch sufficient purchase to raise and lower the ~2500# high aspect foil and bulb. The winch is located in the dog house that the mast sits on. Beam is 10'-6". Island Packet retains the molds for the 32RK and the 26RK but will not build one at this time, which is very unfortunate as there is a lot of interest in them. The retractable keel allows access to the shallow waters of FL and the Bahamas that you just can't get with other sailboats. Nick Hake excelled in his design of the 32RK. The boat sails VERY well. Lowering the keel while sailing to windward increases lift to keep her VMG and raising the keel going downwind reduces wetted surface, allowing max speed. Generally, the keel stays in the middle position, and the boat does quite well. With the flatter bottom, the boat sails better with less heel than some sailboats, which is just fine. Who wants to be heeled over at 30 degrees all day anyway? When the wind freshens, just throw a reef in, and she still goes nice and fast while staying more upright. Hull speed is ~7.45 knots, and the boat will definitely get there if she is sailed properly. The Seaward 32RK can be used as a day sail boat or as a full-time cruiser if properly outfitted.
