These two actually have an incredible chemistry for physical comedy together. I knew I liked this show as a kid, and yeah it's cheesy and sanatized, but it's incredibly sophisticated with it's physical comedy blocking. It reminds me a lot of the old Lucy show.
i always thought this show was lame when i was younger, but that I just watched it again, I found myself laughing throughout this entire segment. OK, there is worse.
I agree completely! He is like an 8 year old boy in a grown man's body! LOL This was a great show and was one of my favorites to watch as a kid back then!! The buddy chemistry between Balki and Larry was amazing! :)
I always crack up at the part when Balki prays for Dimitri, "... who is sleeping on the floor for the first time in his whole young life." It's Bronson's delivery of that line, not the line itself!
I loved the audiences reaction to all the '80s and '90s sitcoms. They were laughing at how funny the acting was, and with you, because everything about these shows were just naturally comical. Especially the few out of the bunch that would still carry on the laugh after a joke lol.
I miss the old TGIF line up. They don't make television like this anymore. Many good times watching these shows. It's just a shame that channels don't rerun this show.
“What’s in my face?” has me rolling...LOL. I’ve seen every episode of this series and will always love it for how much joy and laughter it has brought to my life.
This was male bonding at its ABSOLUTE FINEST!!! I mean, these guys had THE ULTIMATE MEGA ULTRA SUPER BROMANCE, but there was nothing lewd about it, it was all super sweet and wholesome. I always wished I had a best friend like that =(
Thanks for uploading this. So many good memories. I just watched this and even my teenage boys who had never seen "Perfect Strangers" were cracking up. I wish they'd put re-runs on TV.
Perfect Strangers was the last sitcom produced by Hollywood that I actually laughed at. And, even all these years later I laughed at this clip. It was a funny show, without dirty humor. I'm going to look for more clips now!
80s were all about family shows. It was the best. The 90s branches off to the left and ushered in a new form of comedy. I miss the 80s and the transition. Lol
when i was teenager i used to see this show..later i fall in lov nd decided when i wolud grew up i will marry balky..😝 i was so obsessed with love 4r this show.🤣🤣😜
I am 48 now and I still love this show!!💙 The series premiered when I was 11 or 12 years old. 😁 Mark is 67 now and Bronson is 62. When they first shot the pilot I believe Bronson was 26 or 27 and Mark was 30 or 31. 'i'm not the one you threw on the floor!'🤣 I said this before but there is nothing more cuter than the two of them!!😁😊 I even have magnets and a keychain of the two of them that I had a friend of mine customize. I probably said this already but before Mark came along to do a screen test with Bronson they actually shot the pilot six times before that and nobody had chemistry with Bronson, and the first person they had shoot the pilot with Bronson was Louie Anderson and at the time the character's name was going to be Lou Appleton I think or Louie Appleton and Balki's character was named Zev. But Bronson said 'i don't answer to Zev.' So they had asked him what he thought the character should be named and he said 'how about Apollo?' and they said 'no' so then his sister made a suggestion she had said well how about Balki because that's a nickname for her dog Balcony. Can you imagine Zev and Louie? (Lou)🤣 The original title for the series was going to be The Greenhorn. The minute Mark and Bronson met they became instant friends. 💙 And still are.💙 My favorite episode is called 'A Christmas story' it's season 2 episode 11 I cry😭 every time I watch that episode especially the part when Larry says to Balki ' You know Balki, I thought I was missing Christmas with my family and my friends...but I'm not.' Balki gives him a confused look. Larry says 'You're here!' (and they hug) I cry every time 😭 .... nothing's gonna stop me now!!
It's 2021. I came across this clip. And I still laughed out loud. These guys were the best. It would be nice if they had reruns. I'm going to search for more clips
Recently the whole show has finally become available, the full 8 seasons, on DVD and digitally. I purchased it from Microsoft store for about $60. 150 episodes. The best purchase in my life :D
Nicholas Julian same chemistry in all shows. "crazy guy" consept. even familiar with kramer from the show "sienfeld". probably it's the formula of the success of a comedy.
Oh, yeah, there's an episode where Balki and Larry are volunteer firemen and there is nothing more adorable than Larry Appleton (Mark Linn-Baker is so adorable!) in a fireman uniform.💙 I have so many questions though like whatever happened to Balki's bird? And they make tons and tons of mistakes like in the pilot episode Larry's father is referred to as George Appleton but later on when he comes for a visit in the episode Father knows Best he is called Walter Appleton. The huge mistake that really bums me out to this day, is when Balki makes Larry this tapestry as a Christmas gift clearly that's what he says and he gives it to him in the episode that I mentioned in my previous post but then later on in another episode called sexual harassment in Chicago its season 3, anyway Balki says that his sister Deanna sent it to him, bc he tells Miss Crawford that, and later on in another season Balki says he doesn't have a brother or a sister and during the Christmas episode he says that he misses his nieces and nephews but he doesn't have any of those because he's an only child. 🤣 It's like the writers forget things!! So many other mistakes like when they went to Vegas the first time and Larry has a problem gambling and Balki talks him out of it so if he has a problem with gambling why does he play poker with Mr. Gorpley later on to help win back Balki money?? Since he has a history of gambling issues why is he playing poker? And when they go to California Balki says that's the first time he's been on an airplane which isn't true because they flew to Vegas in season 2 🤣 And later on they do go back to Vegas. And when Balki breaks up with Marianne he gets a fake tattoo so obviously he knows what a tattoo is but then later on when they're in California he asked what's a tattoo? So many mistakes that I've noticed. And Balki does not seem all that pissed off when Larry takes a sledgehammer to his bedroom looking for that poem. He doesn't really do anything to reprimand Larry or anything. But later on he's more pissed off that Larry went into his pleasure chest!! He grabs him by his ear!! 🤣 I would have loved to have seen the actual scene when they're at the courthouse and Larry had told Balki to stand in the corner because he wanted him to change his vote because when they get back to the house Balki says I'm the one that should be upset cousin and I am upset because I'm sure that even as jury Foreman you had no right to force me to change my vote by making me stand in the corner!! Larry once smacked Balki off the back of the head with a wooden spoon..🤣 there's so many times I really would love to have seen Balki smack Larry with a wooden spoon just bc it fit the scene. Like when he sneaks the pizza when he's trying to lose weight that would have been a nice time to see Balki smack Larry with a wooden spoon and when he tells him he's off the picture because the movie that Larry is shooting is not what Balki wants so I would have loved him to take the camera from him and then either threatened to smack him with a wooden spoon or take it out of the woodshed or something. LoL 🤣 And when Larry can hear Jennifer and Balki out in the hallway and he thinks they're having an affair why doesn't he just open the door instead of running all the way across and hiding behind the kitchen counter. LoL 🤣 And I'm still trying to figure out how Balki and Larry our cousins. 🤣 Balki says Philo my 5th cousin 3 times removed is a step uncle to your father on my mother's side two continents removed I get the fifth cousin thing but how are Larry and Balki cousins 🤣 my guess is that cousin Philo is Larry's father's step uncle. Balki calls him Uncle Walter. And somewhere along the line somebody from the Appleton family must have married somebody from the Bartokomous family.😁 Or whatever his mother's maiden name is because apparently the step uncle is a step uncle to Larry's father on Balki's mother's side whatever Balki said. Lmao 🤣 Well anyway I write my own fanfiction so my story goes wherever I choose. 😁 Nothing's gonna stop me now....
Bronson Pinchot absolutely MADE this show. He could bounce off any straight-man, as he did with John Larroquette in "Second Sight". I'm actually surprised he hasn't head-lined more movies in his career, instead of just bit parts here and there occasionally.
I purchased the complete series on Microsoft Store for free using my rewards points. Planning to binge-watch it during the current Coronavirus pandemic isolation to fill my life with some positivity.
So true. In fact, one of the staffers has your last name: make-up artist Bob Osterman. Many of the writers worked or went on to work on sister shows like "Full House", "Step by Step", "Getting By", and daughter show "Family Matters".
I read somewhere that during the whole entire series of Perfect Strangers Bronson never wore underwear so I find myself kind of staring at places I shouldn't be. 🤣
